July 2007 BC Update - Marvel vs Capcom 2, PGR, PGR2 , Morrowind +

Had to bust out my old avatar for this joyous occasion:

It is a good day.

I've actually got two copies of MvsC2 on XBox. I shall check it.

And to the guy that said I have a ton of XBox games.. not as much as Shipwreck, but the tally hit 165 today.

So there were two Christmas bonus discs? Crap!
Yeah. There was Holiday Golf, then 9 holes, then 9 more holes. Then Outlaw Volleyball had its spinoff, "red hot".

//edit: Marvel runs a tiny bit slow, but there are MASSIVE sprite glitches. I'm talking like.. nearly every animation is blurry and sprites are all out of place. Don't be suprised if they pull this one. Hopefully it'll get updated. The lag isn't extremely annoying, or even mildly annoying.. think of it running at 95% instead of 100%. But the sprite glitching makes it damn near unplayable.

Actually there is a wierd graphic clitch in Evil dead where the lights have giant white squares. Nothing to stop you from playing, but whatever.

Damn, thats a shame to hear.

All I want to do is get MvC2 on either PS2 or Xbox so I don't have to hook up my DC to play it. This is the only game I play on my DC anymore

Now the one game I am rooting for is Psi ops, and I hope for Riddick, but seeing as they are coming out with an uber edition on the 360 I suppose they wont make it BC.

So we have JSRF and Sega GT 2002...but can anybody confirm that the combo disk that came packaged with the Xbox works yet

EDIT: Nevermind, just saw Sporadic's post. Good news.

Does anyone else know why most of the BC games won't display in wide-screen? I just popped in Guilty Gear last night and I'm disappointed I'm stuck in 4:3. I haven't tried many of the original games on the Xbox but so far Street Anniversary Collection is the only one to display in anything close to 16:9.

I think it has to do with the game itself and if it supports 16:9. Bloodrayne 2 does not, Justice League does.

Crimson Skies was 16:9. Many of the original Xbox games displayed 16:9 on my original Xbox. I don't understand why the 360 can't handle what the original Xbox did so well. It just means I have to keep the Big Black Behemoth around to play games in 16:9 and that pisses me off. Microsoft has turned BC into a joke.
damn, I really need to grab a copy of MvC2.
I hated to do it but I need my fix and paid EB for the game last night..
Only games I'm waiting for now are Obscure, Prince of Persia: WW (And I guess Two Thrones), and X-Men Legends 2.
I read somewhere back in a Major Nelson interview... the BC crew aren't concerned with making BC updates for games that are available for the 360.

Therefore XMLegends 2 will be very doubtful of a BC.

Set your 360 to 480p when playing a BC game that is widescreen.
See this for more details:
Ouch. I found it at GameCrazy today for $26.99 after MVP.

"ouch" is ebay. ;) you got lucky...all the GC employees snag the rare games as soon as they come in around here.

edit: wait, don't you work at GC? and it's your second copy? omg, you're going to hell hoarder. :p jk
So, I'll take that as MvC2 for XBOX is just as rare as the PS2 version? CRAP.
not really. the PS2 version averages $100 on ebay. Xbox version is around $60,70,80. although that'll change now that it's BC.

Now I regret selling Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

Oh, well. At least I got $60 for it.

I love that game, because of the roster... but I just don't like how it's "Fighters for Dummies" -- way too fuckin' easy.
I have to try that when I get home. thanks for the Tip! :D

It sucks you have to change it everytime but its not a difficult thing to do.
FWIW I just tried NCAA Football 06, ESPN NHL 2K5 (ah the good old days when ESPN actually acknowledged hockey) and Project Gotham 2 and they were all widescreen without having to change the settings but I know I had to change it for JSRF and Psychonauts to get it to display in widescreen.

Wow, I might finally have to go and buy the cable to transfer some of my xbox saves to the 360. Now I can play PGR2 and have the joy of badmouthing my opponents while they smoke me (and not kicking me out of rooms for not having the headset), and I can move my Morrowind saves over and have the joy of playing wirelessly (which Oblivion spoiled me too).

Wow, this is a great update.

Finally looked, and I still have these games that are not BC.

Brothers in Arms (2)
Riddick
Madden 07*
NCAA 07*
MLB 2K5*
Path of Neo
Midnight Club 3 DUB Remix
Goldeneye
NCAA MVP 06*
NFS Most Wanted*
Xbox Music Mixer*
TOCA 2
RSC2

I fully understand that the *-games have no shot of becoming BC. If I could get Goldeneye, RSC2, Path of Neo and BiA (at least the second one) BC, I could probably retire my Xbox. The FIFA 07 update was the big winner for me last time. Although it would be hard to retire a console that was made on my birthday.
fuck... still no wrestlemania 21..
So your the one bought and kept the piece of turd? That was one of THE worst unplayble wrestling games...no actually it's one of the worst video games in general I have ever seen. Nice to see THQ even knew that and dumped Studio Gigante faster then I do after eating Mexican food.

:hot:

qf...wait, what?

Most unplayable wrestling game goes to the Backyard Wrestling series, closely followed by any of the Acclaim WWF/ECW series. I give Attitude a little credit for having a decent season mode and some pretty cool entrances (Edge out of the crowd), but for the most part, crap.

Special points go to WCW Thunder for allowing Kidman to hit the Seven Year Itch off of the SIDE of the cage.

Agreed on all points. Can't forget the mash fest of Legends of Wrestling. Great concept bad game. THQ really should add more legends to the SD! series or hell create DLC of the legends. We can make CAW's but we want official ones with their themes from WWE Anthology not generic crap.

I'm still chuckling over the other poster saying it's OK for a game not to be playable but it looks good..lol

Neither copy I have came through my store. My first copy was from the $4.99 CC sale back in '04. This one came from a GC store that was over an hour away, I just happened to be in the area. The only good stuff that's come through my store, XBox wise, that I ended up snagging were Fatal Frame and Sniper Elite. Oh, and the Silent Scope rifle.

lol.... well the custom soundtracks gave it huge replay value for me.. i still keep the old box around to play this every now and then.. the entrances for the most part are also pretty well done and i enjoyed career..

i also gave raw 2 a lot of replay value because of the custom soundtracks and good caw...

showdown was not that bad to be honest and had an awesome roster.. some entrance songs sound pretty good too...

nice. I don't think I've ever seen the SS rifle. I've been meaning to pick up FF1...does it run perfectly on the 360?
