Jump Superstar 2 - on wifi this fall.

Hm... I guess I should get on selling my Jump Superstars then, if this one is more of the same, before the value drops.

I hope Wi-Fi will work over here (in the US). It's a damn shame that there'll never be an ENG release, I really want to finish Jump World

According to the-magicbox.com, the next jump superstars game is now called 'Jump! Ultimate Stars'.

Quoting directly from them:

"- Nintendo announced Jump! Ultimate Stars for Nintendo DS, the sequel to the popular cross-over fighting game Jump! Super Stars from last year. Jump! Ultimate Stars will have over 300 characters from 40 Jump! manga series and Wi-Fi online battle; the game is scheduled for a winter 2006 release in Japan."

Of course, it'll never see a state-side release so this is top on my import list.

There is always friend codes to play within the US, at least.

Although to be honest, I lost interest in the first game because there was not too much variety in the action (seemed like some characters were too good not to use). Hopefully, there will be more variability in the next iteration.

A few things I could gather from the scan:

-Secondary komas can be mapped to the L and R buttons so that'll reduce the tapping and finger marks on the DS Lite.

-Apparently you can set one of your battle komas to be your "leader" koma. Since I don't read Japanese this could include giving komas from the same series a boost, boosted power or health to your "leader" koma, or maybe it makes your entire deck into a laughter/power/knowledge deck. Whatever it does, it'll add a little extra to an already great game.

Yes, but expect some pretty bad lag.

It probably will never happen. The licensing issues surrounding this game would be absolutely insane.

Anyway, I'll probably buy this game upon release... it looks like it could be really cool.

I'd wait until someone makes a FAQ for it... the language barrier is VERY steep, at least that was what I encountered in Jump Superstars 1.

What I played of Jump Superstars 1 wasn't really that difficult to navigate though. I have a limited knowledge of Japanese so I can usually make it through anything provided that I'm not dealing with an insane number of menus and text (aka: RPGs.)

Same here, Jump Superstars wasn't too bad, even with my limited japanese

The only thing that was steep about the language barier were some of the odder missions (win hitting only with komas of a certain nature, break all the walls, etc). Everything else can be guessed at, especially unlocking komas).l
