ok folks i got today i got a Used wii from craigslist today it came with
Wii Sports
3 Wii Motes + 2 Wii Mote skins
2 Nun chucks + 2 skins

i then went out and bought Zelda and Monster Jam, and a 2 gig memory card with that what are some other good games for the Wii that you all recommend, some titles that have been out there but worth getting, i like sports, fighting, rpg, racing games.....

thanks from a super happy Wii player...

Strategy RPG: Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
RPG: Opoona
4 Player Fighting: Smash Brothers Brawl
Platformer: Mario Galaxy, Okami
Racing: Mario Kart Wii (if you can find it)

If you have another system, play the sports games on those. If not....... Might mess with NCAA 09....

ENDLESS OCEAN
I am going to hate you forever and not come to your birthday party if you don't buy it. $20 at Circuit City next week.

ok i will go buy this next week at CC........ looks cool from what i checked out.. online about it..

okami, okami, okami

opoona is ok, it's not a traditional rpg in the dq/ff manner. The cities desperately need a map, but combat is fun, and surprisngly deep later in the game.

ok well i went and bought Mario kart at CC last one they had and its a tough game to find i checked many stores today... along with a few other clearance games...

Obscure: The Aftermath
Fantastic Four rise of the silver surfer
TMNT

also got a cooling fan to put on the back of the wii........

I think that would hurt more than help. I don't think those are actually effective. Could be wrong, though.

TMNT and F4 have awful controls. I take it they didn't have any copies of Fire Emblem left there? I haven't played obscure though.

As for opoona... it is a mediocre game... but there's not much of a choice for RPGs on the system. There are a number of dungeon crawlers and adventure games, though.

I'm pretty sure the ones that draw power from the USB port are bad for your Wii. If it has it's own plug/power block, it won't hurt.

Metroid Prime 3

The main reason I've bought my Wii back in August and sadly the only game I've really played on it other then Wii Sports.

here is the fan i got it.. it does not use a usb port.. to run...

Pointless. The Wii is never that hot. I have a skin on mine and it's still very cool. But change the options for WiiConnect24 so that there is no standby connection (orange power light) when doing this my Wii was very hot, despite being in standby.

There are four people on GameFAQs who have actually completed endless ocean, and they say it takes 200+ hours. Have fun. That is the most important rule of the game. Just get it first person mode and look at the fishies and sweet environments if the plot bores you.

My 10 favorite games on the system are:

Super Mario Galaxy
No More Heroes
Resident Evil 4(the controls make this worth it even if you've played it before)
Okami
Endless Ocean
Metroid Prime 3
Guitar Hero 3(I would wait for World Tour in October if you want this though, unless you can get it cheap)
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Zack & Wiki
Ghost Squad

Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Resident Evil 4 (If that's your cup o' tea) are must buys. I loved No More Heroes, but a lot of people didn't. I also though Manhunt 2 was great, but pretty much everyone else hated it. Okami is good, but I'm having a hard time getting into it.

thanks i will go get RE 4 for the wii today i have it for the cube. but have heard many say on here that its way better then the GC version.....

plus CC has it for $19.99

EXCITE TRUCK

...fixed. :)

Don't get me wrong, Mario Kart is a lot of fun (especially online), but Excite Truck still SUPER TRUCK SMASHES it for sheer house-rockin' whoop-assin' intensity seven days a week.

And they're both equally hard to find anyway. ;)

Damn right! If you buy one racing game for the Wii, it has to be Excite Truck. Got it on launch day with my system and I will never part with it. Ever.

Mario Kart's good too, but Excite Truck is essential.

I'll second and third (or whatever number we're on) the nomination of Excite Truck. One I won't part with either. It's too damn fun. This is what Motorstorm should have been with prettier graphics. Plus it has custom soundtracks, which is the only reason I have an SD card in my Wii.

Boom Blox
Elebits
Excite Truck
Kororinpa Marble Mania
Super Paper Mario

I'm not sure if any of those have been mentioned yet but they're all great.

Buy it used from GS with the -25% coupon... it's 17.99 -25% for the coupon.

You have this new system and you're going to re-buy a game you already have? What about all the other great games you could be diving into?

Some really cheap good buys are Godfather Blackhand edition. $10 at Toys R Us by me and more then worth that price.
Reviews on that are dead on, it is the best version of the Godfather game.

Blast Works is awesome.

No More Heroes is cheap everywhere now and a must buy.

Mario and other Nintendo games mentioned go without saying.

Final Fantasy Chocobos Dungean is a good buy if you like that kind of game.

Okami wii is great even for fans of the original since you can skip cut scenes, it's in wide screen, and contrary to opinion it is faster and more accurate (hold z for easy stright line).

One piece unlimited adventure is $20 now and a great buy for fans of zelda style adventure stuff and the anime of course.

House of the dead 2 & 3
Ghost Squad
Resident Evil UC
and Medal of Honor Heroes 2 is great if you like light gun games. Medal of Honor is also great for the FPS customize thing it has. Plus a lot of people still play online surprisingly.

Soul Calibur Legends is worth it if your a fan of Soul Calibur and don't mind mindless fun with low production values.

Bully Scholarship edition is a good buy since it's much less buggy and easier to control then it's 360 counterpart.

If you listen to some wierd people at Gonintendo apparently Dog Island is an amusing play that is actualy very well made.

I got Dragon Quest Swords for $15 at Best buy and would recomend looking for that since that is definetly a great price for the story, and punch out style gameplay.

I myself am not into the mini game stuff at all so I can't recomend those. Same with sports, and such.

edit:
forgot. Ys is a must buy if you like classic RPG's from way back in the day. The music alone makes the just released V.Console game worth it. Plus the voice acting surprisingly holds up really well. Ys 1 and 2. Great buy on the VC.

I'm in need of outside decision making help but I think I'll blog it rather than create a new thread.. I'll take some thoughts from this though.

Excite truck for pure arcade racing.. One of the best racers I have ever played, keep in mind I am talking the single player...

If the two player mode would have kept the AI cars in then great... without them and just head to head it lacks there. Single player though can be passed around to multiple people. We have played this one a ton. I will get it again eventually. I have owned it 3 times and loved every second of it.

I'm in the same club with you bud. I just got these games:

3. Mario Cart Wii (love that wheel, my g/f says otherwise. Computer is cheap!)
4. Wii Play (meh, like the shooting, and finding the mii is kinda fun. Plus extra controller)
2. Trauma Center: 2nd Blood (2nd best of my bunch. Co-op is flippin' awesome, and I love some "House" styled storylines)
1. Legend of Zelda: TP: (Very Addictive Story, if just a little frustrating at times.)

I might get a shooting game like Ghost Squad, Wild West Guns (sp?), or House of the Dead II and III.

Just bought online: Wii Lan Adaptor for $11 via Amazon (I don't have wireless, and if I get a wl router, I gotta upgrade my 360. Not worth wireless for half the connection speed.)

No VC games yet: I don't have a SD card or points card.

Anyone recommend any good co-op games?
Anyone recommend any good co-op games?
The light gun games are co-op by nature; you can find Ghost Squad for $20 with a little effort, and it's a steal at that price.

The Lego games are also good; Lego Star Wars, especially, has a truckload of content and unlockables to justify a purchase.

And don't knock Wii Play too much -- 9 games for $10 is a pretty good deal, and the Tanks and Pool games alone are almost worth the $10 by themselves.

My wii should arrive today with Mario Kart and i want to pick another game up at the weekend. Either Super Smash Brothers or Galaxy..but cant decide. What do you guys think?

I have never played a Smash Brothers before and i have Mario Kart for my multiplayer fun. Ive always wanted Galaxy, one of the main reasons i bought a Wii but it wont last as long as Smash Brothers.

Galaxy is amazing - initially I thought "haha played this twice before Nintendo, you can't fool me!" but it is very cool. I also have Smash Bros. and while it's fun, my roommates and I hardly ever play it. We play Mario Kart far more often.

My Wii did come and have spent about 3 hours with it. Mario Kart is so so so fun and it was free which makes me smile even more lol :D

Thanks for the advice tsmvengy. I might just get Wii Play Instead so i can get another controller. Or i might not and get Galaxy hehe. I wish money wasnt tight this month !
