Due to all of these requests is it safe to assume that NPD numbers aren't made available to the unwashed masses?
Also, any numbers for Odin Sphere?
Odin Sphere update - 149k
And yes, NPD numbers are generally not available to the public...their business is strictly selling these stats to publishers. I just don't get it though...feels like a huge missed opportunity. Obviously the public is interested, and just look at how much publicity top-selling books and music lists are, not to mention the weekend movie box office tallies showing up on every newscast.
Just feels to me like NPD should open this stuff up and make an official site for it. Publicize the hell out of it...publishers will be able to tout their top-selling titles, news outlets will pick up the stories just like they post movie numbers...it's nothing but free publicity if done well.
Eh...if anyone has any NPD connections, tell them to get in touch with me. I would LOVE to spearhead this.
I can't imagine that being a Toys R Us exclusive helped at all, so I'm wondering what kind of numbers Soul Bubbles did for the DS?
Soul Bubbles is actually not being tracked. Interesting...
Very happy about the Persona 4 numbers, glad it sold well. My one request:
Burnout Paradise
Thanks roland, I love you!
Aw yeah, feelin' the love! Thanks man!
Burnout Paradise - 371k (360) 306k (PS3) [such a ballsy game with the chances they took...yet, I didn't love it as much as I know I should have. Numbers are interesting in how close the two platforms are.]
That last statement piqued my interest. Now I'm wondering how well Blast Works: Build, Trade, Destroy (Wii) did; after all, it does seem like one of the few shmups in recent memory that has had some major backing behind it.
Blast Works - 31k [Talk about a tough sell on this game. 15 year old graphics and a challenging concept. Too bad though...it was a helluva concept with a ton of features. Got mine at that sweet BB $10 sale.]
Any numbers on the Wii version of Shaun White, and does it lump the Target Edition in with the regular edition? The Wii version is actually superior to the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions and one of the better Wii titles. I wonder how much the Target version was an incentive for people to buy?
Shaun White Wii - 537k [Wow, a huge hit on this console! The Target version is not listed separately.]
If you could get these, would really appreciate it. Last 4 are PS2 titles, not sure if you have those.
Sure thing:
Silent Hill - 73k (360) 84k (PS3) [has to be one of the few cross-platform titles to do better on PS3]
Dark Sector - 139k (360) 97k (PS3)
Star Wars Force Unleashed - 823k (360) 464k (PS3) 626k (Wii) 175k (DS) 263k (PSP) 352k (PS2)
Pure - 158k (360) 92k (PS3)
Motorstorm 1 - 427k
Motorstorm 2 - 138k [looks like the love is lost here]
Unreal Tournament III - 164k (360) 219k (PS3)
Ninja Gaiden II - 517k
Ninja Gainden Sigma - 316k
Marvel Vs Capcom 2 - 246k
Disney Golf - 59k
Final Fantasy X - 2.46M
FF XII - 1.85M
Kingdom Hearts I - 3.28M [8th best selling PS2 title]
KHII - 2.3M
KH COM - 312k
I just want to say that I love this thread and to thank Roland for putting up all these numbers.
Totally feeling the love! Well Wombat, I absolutely love the CAGcast and never miss an episode, so thank you!
