Kanye West is my hero

People don't realize that when the white house declared the area around New Orleans a Distaster area it wasn't for Katrina. It was for Hurricane Cindy. That hurricane hit louisiana seven weeks ago. But only last week did the white house finally get around to declaring that hurricane a disaster area to free up money for the state.

The fact is everyone deserves blame The local goverment including the mayor. The state goverment including the governer. The federal goverment. The Military. The Legislature. And the President who ultimate is the ultimate authority and deserves the most blame. A better president than him once said, "The buck stops here."

And West is just being honset about how he feels and see things. There are a lot of people who feel the same way. And you know what, he may be right.

I was planning on getting Kanye's new record eventually, but now I think I'll get it tomorrow. It was nice to see someone show some courage in the midst of an entertainment industry where it's fashionable to be anti-war and anti-Bush, as long as it doesn't hurt your record sales.

"George Bush doesn't care about black people."
I really dont think you people understand the role of a PRESIDENT. fuck i am not going to agrue with you fucking idiots about this. You can live in your god damn made up bush can do no wrong world.

fuck all of you.
First, let me break it down in language you obviously understand....
No, fuck you.

Second off, the dumbass on TV just added a big spoonful of hatred to an already bad deal, real smart. That's rational, and will probably fix the problem overnight.

The storm was coming, people were told to leave, people were told this was possibly/probably going to happen on some scale, don't know about you, but car or not, I would have hit the road when I was told to. I know there are some who could not due to health reasons, but there look to be atleast 2 or 3 able body people still there.

Third, the people on camera who were going to "weather the storm" according to the news who were on Bourbon (spelling?) St. acting like booze was all that mattered (yes, these people were white) holding up their beer and their fists in the air in definace, what the hell? This is the exact type of crap that is probably a good reason a decent percentage of people are there. Black, white, and any other creed that was in the area.

Do some of you hate Bush so badly, that everything is his fault? I don't like Bush either, but I atleast try to be reasonable. There is help there, there is more coming, there is alot of area and people to cover and rescue.
Then again, NONE of us sitting in our comfortable chair, in our air conditioning, in our dry clothes have any idea what these poor people are going through, so in the end, what do ANY of us know anyway.

This is not about race, this is about people who are hurt, dying, suffering, torn from their family and friends, lost their possessions, and if they live through it, part of them still dies. Not to mention the fact they are not only fighting for their lives from what nature put up against them, they are fighting for their lives against low life thugs who may God have mercy on their souls.

The person screaming race the loudest is usually the one who is the racist.

I just downloaded Kanye West's album on iTunes after watching that awesome clip. Preach on, Kanye is my new hero.

If you think Kanye is the only one, check out Anderson Cooper and Ted Koppel.

well said well said
fuck you that this is not racist. When all those white folk died in the twin tower they were there in a fucking god damn second.
And by the way, this statement alone makes you about as narrow sighted as the people who crashed the planes into them.

What are Cooper & Koppel saying?

man i just hope people now dont discriminate against him like those dixies chicks i belive they were called
man i just hope people now dont discriminate against him like those dixies chicks i belive they were called
Don't worry, I doubt the people that are Kayne West fans are George Bush fans. Surprisingly enough, country fans ARE Bush fans.
I tire of the whole "we're black and the white man is holding us down" crap. I'm not saying the relief process is going great. It is horrible actually, but to believe it's because of a race is retarded. There was terrible planning and then when they actually do get the ball rolling they have to pull back and come up with another plan as people are trying to kill the ones getting them out of there.
and its turning a lot of people off. I know some people who are saying "they want to act like that , screw them im not giving them any money".

i would really be shocked if that Mayor gets reelected i mean all he does is cry and moan on tv. Get off your ass and get down there with your people. this is a City issue first then a state issue then a Country issue. The mayor acts like BUSH should do something and he dont have to do a thing..
man i just hope people now dont discriminate against him like those dixies chicks i belive they were called
I think the fan base is a little different. There shouldn't be a problem.

First off,, Go Kanye!! You're the man. You're new album isn't as good as the first, but it's still awesome and loads better than 80% of the crap that's out there.

I'm glad that he went out there and had the courage to say what was on his mind.

Oh, you're right MaskedPlague. Anderson Cooper and Ted Koppel have been two of the few journalists willing to show their disapproval of the president. I know I have seen Anderson go on about how he is ashamed support and aid hadn't made it to New Orleanse quicker. These two have been very addmanant against the president as well as another reporter who was right in the thick of things reporting on the dead bodies that he found and saw. Truly gruesome stuff, but I applaud them. It got me to watch the news again.
well, it's official. Now I HAVE to go buy his cd tomorrow
yea, then he should donate all that money to the people, No i dont think he would.

such a silly statement... while new orleans was especially prone to this kind of diaster, if any major city was hit with something on the same scale, especially with little planning, relief efforts would be harder than hell. it just so happens that new orleans is majority black... its really just poor planning

the major reason why they did it for was " hey look at me im in front of all these people. I will say something to get the people behind me and they will all run out and buy my CDS so i can make another 100 million and laugh at the suckers

the gothic people should get on tv and scream out the White man is keeping us down they wont hire us down at our local 7-11 cause we look like zombies

Kanye showing disapproval is one thing, although doing it on a fund raising drive was inappropriate IMO, I can at least understand the point of view. I think almost everyone wished things could have been done faster and better. To accuse the President of racism is absolute bullshit, especially when there are a lot of non-blacks suffering in the same area.

Well really the president's speech was even half-assed, he had a golden chance to advert attention from his blunders in Iraq and he really fucked it up.

does anyone else think Bush isnt doing a new job but is just trying to copy what Regan did back in the 80s. I mean it seems every freaking time someone on the radio or tv is compairing the 2

LOL
That is so true, soon goth will be a race.

You know, with all his money, he could probably afford a fleet of buses and drivers to rescue the people he cares so much about.

You honestly think if NYC or LA got hit like this it would take us this long to respond? I highly doubt it. Even if you don't consider this a race issue, I can't imagine someone defending a position that the country handled relief efforts particularly well.

You know what, as sick and tired as I am of Kanye going on about being the new 'savior of hip-hop' that part "George Bush hates black people" and says it straight face is the funniest thing I've ever seen in my life.
But do you agree with the forum on which he used to say it?
bush doesnt care about anybody that isnt rich, not just black people. if kanye cares so much why doesnt he sell his million dollar mansions and donate the money to the relief effort? oh yeah, thats right, he doesnt care! he just blames bush and *boom*
his record sales go through the roof.

yea right all he did was he wanted people to notice him simple as that. If hes so freaking worried then why isnt he down there in a boat picking people up instead of being on tv

also to PROVE the point probally 90% didnt even know who the hell he was but now since HE said this people are looking it up saying I wonder who this is. It was nothing more then to get more people to know who he is and to make an ass out of himself

That is at least a resonable line of thinking, whether people agree with it or not.

You, know I would kill to hear what those DJs in New York, who made fun of the tsunami victims (in racist ways) , would say. I am sure they would side with Kanye despite their own rcist feelings.

i remember that and that was totally wrong and they should of been fired (if they wasnt)

We could argue about it, but that's more VS forum stuff. If he inadvertedly wanted to get people's attention by doing so, then I think he probably succeeded. So I'd agree.

The main thing right now is a bunch of people are in some deep ish.

GEORGE BUSH DOES NOT CARE ABOUT BLACK PEOPLE

yea right,,, thats why we gave what millions if not BILLIONS to those islands that got hit last year by that Wave

I saw the vid and it didn't seem like Mike Myers and Chris Tucker's reactions were that dramatic to me. There was some shock but it wasn't like they were mouthing "holy shit" or something.
http://www.pixelmd.com/kanye.html Longer clip, includes whole segment with Kanye. Also includes Chris Tucker with an extremely feminine voice.
Kanye stuttered a lot. I liked how he made Chris Tucker fuck up.

Chris Tucker: Send food, trucks, whatever.

lol, trucks

Probably thinking more along the lines of, "and I thought my career was desperate".

I thought it was perfect. Exactly what I would expect from someone on live television.
