Kick Them All Out - The Project to Clean Up Washington

Ranger Rick

CAGiversary!
If you're like me, you're fed up with the way politicians are running our country. The greed and corruption in our legal system has gone above and beyond the breaking point. While searching the web for answers to the seemingly impossible question of how to clean up Washington, I came across the kick them all out project. To me, it seems like the first step in the right direction to clearing up the mess in Washington. The purpose of the project is to use the power of our vote to rid our government of its two most corrupting influences, corporate special interest lobbyists and all the career politicians responsible for turning our government over to them. The proposal, actions, and reasoning are all simple and we need to put aside our differences and acknowledge the fact that something needs to be done about the corruption in Washington. Take a look around the website, and make sure to read the full project summary to get all the info.

The sad thing is, that while there may be 'good' strong-willed honest people elected to high government positions (governor, senator, etc), who pledge to serve one term or two terms or whatever, virtually every one of them decides they like the power and the attention and the money, er, "honoraria", much more than they do their principles.
One of the wisest things the founders did was create the three branch system, with varying lengths of service--makes it a *little* easier to 'kick them all out' (except of course for the robes) every now and again. We need a 22nd Amendment for Congress as well.

I'm ready to kickout all those weak-ass Democrats that capitulated, YET AGAIN, to the President and his vastly idiotic and unpopular demands.

Don't you think the lobbyists would have a field day with an entire Congress full of Freshmen? It's the money that corrupts the system. You could have 1-term limits so that congressmen don't need to raise money for reelection, but then you're throwing out the good with the bad.

I don't know. I almost wish it were that simple. Look at Nixon: he genuinely thought it was so important for the good of the country that he run things the way he felt they needed to be run, that he authorized criminal activity. Power may have been a factor -- along with his self-fulfilling, paranoid delusions of persecution, of course -- but he was doing it out of misguided principles.

I think it says something that I'm almost starting to believe this batch of Dems would be weak on security/"terror" -- if they can't even stand up against mean words and the knucklehead in the whitehouse, are they really prepared to do anything beyond the bare minimum to maintain public perception? I'm no lover of the current administration, but you know -- "Say what you will about the tenets of National Socialism, at least it's an ethos, man."

I'm ready to move to another country. :D We're ridin' the train, and it looks like there are no stops... gotta ride it out to the bitter end.

"With great power comes great responsibility."

Politicians need to read comics.

Until the gang-like actions and mentality of the two party system is destroyed then nothing will change. You have special interest groups and politicans giving each other "political head" every day. That's why the Vermont secession thing doesn't surprise me. People aren't uniformed rubes anymore. The information age gives the common man access to info that was unheard of even 20 years ago.

No way. Too likely they'd find inspiration from Dr. Doom.

Seriously though, I think it's too easy to blame this on the two party system. Corruption, laziness, and "politics as usual" would be just as rampant under any other party I know of: Greens, Libertarians, Independants, and so on.

Off topic, what the hell is your sig (in fact, the last couple, like the one with the chick with the shotgun) from? It looks awesome...
