Killing Floor: Co-op Survival Horror -comes out May 14 (Steam) $14.99 Pre-order

These weekend scrubs are pretty much making suicidal or HOE impossible. Seems like there's a lack of admins to boot these level zero nerds who join and people don't vote kick when you ask. Hell, even when I carry the team to wave 10 they manage to all die soon as the patty shows up with me being the last one alive every single time. Might have to wait until next week when only the pros are left.

Got a permanent free copy last night. Going to try to get into this. Played the solo game for a bit. Seems fun.

Took awhile for the gift to hit though.

It's the first game I've been able to keep coming back to over the years since Vampire Slayer died. Engine mod games are just the best.

Use to love Vampire Slayer - It's no longer up anymore?

Find a server with people playing or even a server running ha. Last time I tried was probably three years ago and there was maybe two servers up with nobody on them.

Well the website is still up and running but the last update was posted almost four years ago, so I was right. Looks like mod.db is trying to revive it but I doubt it will ever have the following it once did. Game is murder on your fingers anyway playing vamp. I'm sure I'll pay later in life with arthritis because I'd play until it hurt lol.

Against my better judgement, I logged on to this game and played in public servers for 4 matches...nothing but back to back door blockers to the traders and no one completing the vote kick process.

Smarter players left early while others were stuck asking why.

This game will be scheduled for uninstall real soon. Shame too because it's the MP style I prefer to play when it comes to FPS.

You just need to grind out a perk and get on some HOE servers. Seriously, the cocks that infect normal servers are just garbage players who play carebear games. Anyone on suicide or HOE can spot them a mile away and kicks go out swiftly. Zerker is a lot of fun and can solo any map so I'd recommend at least starting there if you like melee at all. It's pretty liberating playing that perk in an FPS TBH.

I find playing in some of the bigger servers are more fun. I play on the Netsky servers if you're interested in checking them out. Maybe we should all get together one night to play.:)

Hey - So I had a great time these last 2 nights in a row playing this. At first I went LAN with my nephew and it was great. Then I took to online and found some great servers with some Quake maps and it's been groovy. I have a few perks to choose from and joined up with some UK players that showed me the ropes.

I'm down for a game tonight around 10:30 PM EST tonight.

Killing Floor Gold is coming 6/1. Sadly, it's only all the DLC and one new female skin, so new maps or perk caps will have to wait for a patch, if ever. Didn't see a price yet, but probably the same $15 as usual.

$10 from the looks of the store.

Even though I own the game, having a box version will look nice in my collection. Plus female DLC sound good to me. RAWR!

The $10 edition doesn't include the girl (it also doesn't mention you get all 6 DLC packs). The only game that seems to include all the DLC and the girl is the GOLD edition, that is $30.

Only commando and firebug are a pain in the ass to level, so getting the others to 6 is actually fun. Besides, once you have them all (like me) you only ever want to play zerker or medic because they're the best two perks in the game. A zerker in the right hands can easily solo any map on HoE difficulty after all the droolers have died.
those are the only two i play now anyway but i've spent 92 hours on the game and my highest is level 4. its a little ridiculous.
Which two? Hopefully not FB because they just make life difficult for the rest of the team. Commandos are nice to have but support is better for taking out packs. Ideally, you want one zerker, two support, two sharpies, and one of either medic, demo (after wave 5), commando, or another zerker pending the map. If your team is good at cross healing or just plain good, a medic is never required.
Well, already beat the new map on HoE. . .sucks berserkers got no new toy when almost every other perk did. :(
I thought there was a new shotgun for beserkers?

The HSG is for the support class. Zerkers are meant to be melee only and the range on the lever is still too invaluable to give up for a shotty.

Ah, I get those two confused all the time. Yeah, I didn't notice any new melee ones. I suck at melee so I barely play zerker, but I also play mostly solo so I find it impossible to do nothing but melee.

I love these events, the new zombies always catch me off guard the first time I play a map.

Having a really good time playing this game. It's very much what I've been looking for since the days of playing Invasion and/or Swarm mods from Quake. I only have 1 person I know in RL that enjoys playing this but with the exception of 1 incident the public community on this game has been GREAT.

Question 1: I went to a server that had custom maps and model. How do I pick those models as a skin when I join? I go the character screen but all I see is the standard and DLC models that require a purchase.

Question 2: Has anyone here attempted making a model or map for this game? If so - What's been your experience?

I'm not sure what custom skins you're talking about but I never really go to custom servers, just whitelist only. I don't know of any way to change your skin other than the default and DLC from purchases. This is a bad place to ask about maps but their forums have plenty of modders that make them and have even had a lot of them whitelisted. Whenever you see a map in rotation that says made by 'X', it was a user made map.

Also, if you're just starting out it's a good idea to grind some perks solo with mutators on and avoid any pubbie games on normal. Most of those guys are complete droolers who can't hack it in HoE or are perk 4-5 guys just trying to grind. Once you get to suicide or HoE, the community is incredible. Those difficulties require teamwork and you can make some good friends there, especially if you're pro. ;)

I've been playing on Normal and I've been catching ranks faster then before. Beginner is the best route to rank up faster?

Tough to answer because easy has less enemies per wave and not a lot of HP. But it is super easy. It really depends on what perk you're leveling and how far you are into it. A good way to get lots of damage done is putting on poundemonium mutator on easy or bloated on sucidal/HoE. Otherwise if you just need stuff like headshots or certain kills then normal is still fine.

I thought they changed it so you didn't get exp from mutators like.. a year or two ago?

Ouch, that would suck. All my perks have been maxed for a while now so if it was, I had no idea.
I've seem some custom maps in MP like Metro 2033 and Resident Evil Maps, but I have no clue how to get them on your computer.
I've been joining servers with weird map names and just let the game handle it. Once you do that you can host games with those maps.
