Killzone 2 - Gen. Discussion & Info

aww no MP in the demo. =( only the short brief beginning mission of the game (the tutorial part). But yeah AMAZING physic and graphic. I love shooting enemies and watch them shake all over with blood spitting out. That's crazy xD.

Man, the loading screen is cool as hell. I couldn't figure out why the screen seemed so twitchy until I purposely moved my DS3 around.

Wow! That is pretty bad. I've already installed and played it twice lol.

I see what everyone is saying about the length but that's ok. It's a good representation of what's to come. I think the graphics are mind blowing along with the physics. The game play itself doesn't really blow me out of the water as it feels like a generic shooter. The MP beta was actually pretty good and I can see it being addicting to some people. I'll keep playing it to see if I catch anything new but as of right now, I think it's just ok. It's worth a buy but don't expect it to be the Halo killer on the PS3.

All in all, it's enjoyable but I'm hoping for a deeper single player story. This is just a short demo that doesn't really show me that but I think it's going to be one of the nominees for Game of the Year by the end of 2009. Enjoy!

I wasn't blown away, but that's probably because I've seen this part demoed a million times. Looks really great, but I really have to stop watching stuff on this game. I'm going dark until release!

Looks like it'll be fun, though. I am terrible at this kind of game, unfortunately.

You know, I always thought that Sessler was a borderline retard monkey on X Play. He always came across as so fucking stupid that I wanted to give him a punch in the face. But his soap boxes are always funny as shit and very intricate at times. So it either has to be the writers making Sessler as dull as dirt or he can't be himself on the show. They should just get rid of X Play and make Sessler's Soap Box a part of the network. It beats reruns of Cops and Star Trek.

Yeah, I'm going dark too. Not even going to bother w/the demo. I think I might've seen too much of this game already as is. >_
 
To echo the others, the demo was short but straight to the point. It conveyed what it needed to (graphics, physics, and the ending montage to pour more fuel on the hype flame.)

I was on the fence in purchasing the game but the demo has pretty much convinced me to keep my reservation after all.
 
The demo definitely plays good. Yeah, it's short, but that's fine. Only thing I'm not getting use to at the moment is the controls (different from other FPS), but I'll get use to to them eventually. The demo was me basically playing what I've already seen so many times. Still getting on release.

I can't seem to find how to use the knife. It's not the melee, and switching weapons doesn't bring it up. Any help for an idiot?
 
I haven't looked at almost any previews for it, so I'm interested in the demo. Downloading now!

To echo Myke's sentiments... still makes no sense that the demo is being held hostage as a pre-order bonus here in the US.
 
This game is going to be awesome. I loved the demo, short, but not as short as people made it out to be.

I can't wait.

My only complaint are the dumbass menu and loading screens that shake.

Played through it again without a HUD, subtitles, crosshair, hints, and man, is this game gorgeous.

Yes, you can change the control scheme to Alternate 2.

will they have custom controls in the final build?, I tried the different setups and didnt like any of them, mind you I will take the 360 control for FPS's anyday.

I am a little surprised that such a big game for Sony only displays in 720p. I'm still it sure looks fantastic and I'll be getting a copy but I would've hoped the Halo killer would be in full HD.

I'm definitely playing this without the hud, subs, crosshair and hints for maximum immersion.
I hear playing it in Russian language is pretty cool too.

Well, you can force 1080p by unchecking all other resolutions save for that in the PS3 display options.

But you really should let the game play as close to it's native res as possible (so it scales fewer times) or else you might get a few graphical hitches like tearing (RE5 for example, slight tearing in 1080p, no tearing in 720p).

FWIW, there are like only 3 disc games on all of the PS3/360 library that are 1080p native.
