Killzone 2 - Gen. Discussion & Info
I don't know if they updated the game at all, but I am really dang good with the controls now. I'm having no problems anymore. Guess I just got really used to it.

And I'm amazed how great this game is, I'm away for one day and all I want to do is play KZ2!!
Hehe...the last bit rhymed :p :)
'ello Guvnah!
Lol exactly . Well...maybe not, their not really cockney to be honest. Close enough though :p

I got the Intel/Symbol Trophies this morning. Not so tough, but a little confusing at times. I'm still not going to like and try to beat it on Elite, though.

Looking forward to playing some more MP this afternoon with CAG's. I honestly still have no clue about what you guys are talking about when it comes to Boost Ribbons/Medals, and the problems of obtaining them/it.

As far as the Bot accuracy goes, if they were more accurate, they'd be broken. The point of Bots and to an even more extreme extent, the the Tactician's Spawning capability is to cause chaos. And for some reason, it makes the game extremely fun.
im, playing on hard and now im stuck on this stage. Its like the difficulty just ramped up.
I've played the "This" stage on many games before. They haunt me so.
I'm having a hard time with the aerial bot still, will be last one I bet. The anti-air rockets from the ground bots are brutal.

And the boost run one should be easy now if they fixed it. Just got to use it 80 times... lol.
yeah, the ariel bot thing is prob the hardest medal to get... personally I think they need to up either their rate of fire or damage up.

i'm glad the run works since I've been wanting to combine my assult with other stuff.
I disagree; I find the controls to be a BIG difference. I had completely written off this game as unplayable tripe, but with the new tweaks it's now not only playable, but fun..
I'd say the updated controls make a pretty good difference. The main thing changed was the control sensitivity adjustments feel much smoother not compared to a big jump. Aiming is a bit easier too now. They don't feel as heavy now.

The controls feel a little different to me, can't put a finger on it, but it's a little more responsive now. I'm having an easier time with close quarters aiming.

Also I wish they would just take the engineer class out of the game. The turrets are nothing but an annoyance and I don't find them fun to use at all.

Oh, one thing I noticed about Elite Campaign that I don't know if it was like that before the patch, but there's not crosshair if you're not zooming in.

ur not doing it right then. I get alot of kills via turrets most of the time.

That's not the point, I don't think they add any fun to the game and are mostly just annoying.

I'm having fun as well as alot of others I've talked to.

In TF2, my favorite class is the Engineer because once you get your bot built up ((I'm assuming you can't in this game) it becomes pretty much unstoppable. I'll have fun with it.

the lifebar for engineer bots in KZ is pretty small and they don't do too much damage, but well placed bots are beasts. High ground near heavy traffic accounts for some crazy ass headshots.

I like the ENG class, the bots are great for when you need to slow the enemy down, such as in Search and Destroy. The classes are all pretty balanced, so there is no need to change or take anything out. Once you play more and unlock certain medals you can mix and match some class abilities so it adds more variety.

agreed. every class can be outdone if played smart. engineer initially felt like crap when i was against them and when I started as them, but as you learn what they do well then you kick ass.

my 1 bot that got 10 head shots in one round is a good testament of that.

something small I'm super happy about with this game is that it dosn't split games up from "Ranked" or "Player"... I never liked seperating online play into "pretend play" and "for real"... it keeps stats more honest and it's also easier to find games. that is probably my biggest gripe with XBL.

The deadzone is a lot smaller. I only tried it with my recon... All I have to say is be afraid! I was hitting EVERYTHING I put my scope on for once... Sniping is a lot easier now. Not sure how I feel about that, because it felt a little to easy but hopefully that is just because it is the class I usually use in FPS.

Need to get into a tight hallway fight to see if that is better too.

PS> Does spot and mark add blue x's on targets for the whole team, or just the sniper? I think it adds red dots for others on the radar at least but I couldn't get anyone else to confirm about the x's.

NVM>
it marks players on your screen and lets other players on your team have them show up on their radar. More usefull to yourself than the team but works great for almost any class.
How does it keep stats "more honest"? You could go into a game full of your friends and they could let you headshot them all day to pad your stats. It's exactly the opposite of "more honest".

Sniping was always easy, you can hit them anywhere with the sniper rifle and they'll die, I feel that's a little unbalanced. I usually don't snipe in games but with the way it is, even I can do that since you can just aim for the body instead of the head and you'll hit something, even a shot in the shoulder will kill you.

Yeah I think the turrets should meet somewhere between what they are now and what people think they should be. They shouldn't be a killing machine, but they should def. be amped up a little more, especially when your team only gets 4 and it takes forever to build a second.

its still more honest than splitting the two since it takes into account all games played. you still get bullshit of friends helping in ranked online, so here at least you get a dick in your mouth when your not with your friends stat boosting.

I'm wondering if down the line we'll see more classes... I doubt it but it'd be interesting. probably more like TF2 where it's additions to classes.

The flying bot is the tactican secondary ability. But it's best to not pay attention to those as they do pretty much nothing. Turrets are easy enough to destroy, and I like how they are, any more powerful and they're be overpowered. You just need to know where to put them and maybe watch over them. Though I don't don't and they still kill a few people each round.

i hate when you're playing as a enginner when the bot limit is filled with people putting them in all the wrong places. turrent whores! i almost want to destroy theirs so i can put up mine.

Just destroy the turrets that are in terrible spots. No point of them being around if they aren't doing anything. That's what I do.

Yeah, teamkilling turrets is perfectly acceptable, especially since someone might set up a turret that is perfect for one game, but becomes dead weight once you switch to the next game.
That's not the point, I don't think they add any fun to the game and are mostly just annoying.
You mean they're not fun when they're shooting you or you make the mistake of running into one head on? Otherwise, it's tons of fun to watch my turret take out guys, especially when I'm down waiting to respawn. Also very useful to know when/where an enemy that you don't see on your radar is coming from.

I meant easy as terms of placing your scope on someone. It was deathly hard to do with 2X across a large map. But with the change and 5X I was picking people off left and right with ease.

I do hate that it is 1 shot kill too.. save for assault. I felt bad because I was hitting people in the foot lol.

I wish that the person who builds the turrets could take them down and move them to another location.

Agreed. I set up turrets and destroy my own if it goes to another gametype where they're not doing any good.

Finished the single player on my Gamefly rental. Fun once I got the hang of the floaty controls. Although, I didn't feel like I got the hang of the controls until after the 1.20 patch so maybe there is a fix. Like CoD4, this feels like is was built mostly for multiplayer with a very polished but short single player.

This game is win. The multiplayer is a BLAST once you're used to the controls. I'm trying to beat the SP, but I'm stuck in some sewer place where the helghast ambush me.

Whoever decided that the Weekly Honor Trophies were a good idea can fuck right off and go to hell. Seriously...seriously...seriously...seriously. Worst thing ever.

Eh, I never really expect to get platinum trophies but yeah this kind of stuff is annoying. I remember they stopped pulling that shit on xbox (for the most part I think) after the hubbub that was made when the first graw had an achievement for being number one in the world in ranked multiplayer. At least there is a chance in this one to get it.
I finished all the insignias and intels today but unfortunately killzone.com has been down for the better part of today so I can't get any of my prizes. BAH!

I already got both of the single ones :D . Now to just get into a decent clan...
Ya... screw you Rolento! :bomb:
what did I do >_<

currently finishing up boost and slowly working on getting the scan skill... after that I have no idea what I'll focus on after that...

There are 4 Weekly Honor Trophies, not 2. 1%, 3%, 6% and 10%. I'm currently hovering at the wait for it....9,000 ranking for the week. A little below right now, but I expect that will change today if all goes according to plan, and I don't go insane. I'm basically a good hour from getting to the Top 1%, and a good 2-3 hours from keeping me there. I'm pretty much assured all but the 1% Trophy at this point.

It's fantastic that I've played the MP for ... maybe 12 hours and not yet received one Trophy at all. 'Course, I haven't touched the single player yet, but it's kinda funny and I didn't realize it until recently.

I've been playing online for 9+ hours and I've just encountered my first error when attempting to enter a game:

you have the pistol badge yet?

This game just crashed my PS3 when online. Augh. There goes the 1.5X boost on the fucking game our squad was thisclose to winning. Piece of shit. I've read a lot about this game causing crashes/hangs - could be due to sale/use (exposure), but it's pretty fucking aggravating.

I've been getting this stuff constantly, I run a wireless connetion, so I put my ps3 in the DMZ, and it worked ok for like 2 days, and now it happens like evrey 15-30 mins. I'm lucky if I can even finnish an entire game.

Also before anyone tells me to do so, A Wired connetion is not an option for me, our router is downstairs in out living room, and my ps3 is hooked up upstairs in my room.
