Update: Submitting Feb./Mar. offers as SYWR promotions. Will post as soon as they are approved. At the end of Mar. the coupon issue will be fixed and we'll go back to normal. For Feb . SYWR offers, there will be limit 2 per customer (the SYWR card will limit bonuses systematically).

As of Feb 6th, to earn SYWR bonuses a member has to have a valid email address on their profile and opted in before purchasing an item with a bonus offer. This has been communicated to members through SYWR emails and in the circular along with new signage indicating to receive bonus offers they have to have a valid email address on file and opted in to receive email. Opting in to receive SYWR bonus offers is not too bad: .

Just got my $20 Sears gift card in the mail. Thanks Josh :)

One question though, will the Sears card work at K-mart? The reason I ask (and that it's not COMMON SENSE ALTANUS ;) ) is that I saw that Sears don't take K-mart gift cards.
 
Yeah, actually it is common sense considering they're the same company. Sears GCs work across the board. This is just like how Walmart and Sam's Club GCs work. Although apparently some Walmart stores do not take Sam's Club credit cards. Learned that an interesting way once.

As for Sears not taking Kmart GCs, either that was a store-specific thing or someone lying. A Sears Co GC can be used at any Sears Co store. When I got the $5 e-gift card for doing reviews on Mykmart.com back in September/October, it specifically said it was good at Sears.

Here's a trick for remembering my name:

:) There used to be a % uplift in accessory pricing as well that I had removed. For some reason they do not send the circular out to the NYC. I'm not sure if it is based on the advertising costs or not. Either way, one of my strategies down the road is to completely overhall the NYC market and come up with a unique circular anyway.

If I find Mario Sports Mix for the Wii before the 9th and buy it at Kmart (say it's somehow available on Monday the 7th) will the 15000 SYWR points promo be valid or does it actually not kick in until the 9th? Thanks.

systems don't get updated until the actual date of the promo i believe also most places don't put out games till Tuesday unless its a special and also the register prevents the cashier from checking out due to laws and release dates..

I am not asking if you are 100% for sure going to carry it, but just if you thought it would be something you might carry.

Actually, now that I think about it, it may have been dumb to ask before and now, because I really don't think it is THAT niche of a title. I just know that I have only seen maybe one copy of either of the DWG games at any Kmart I've been to (it was one of the never-clearanced copies of DWG1 that I want).

Okay, that's cool. I don't preorder games, so I'm not looking to try to secure a copy yet. I'm just super-hyped for the game. I'll be picking it up somewhere on Day One, that's for sure.
I'll keep an eye out though when it gets closer to launch and see if anyone else asks about it.

Perfect! I'm glad its not right around the corner.

Got the xbox kinect bundle from amazon warehouse (sorry Josh :cry: ) yesterday and I want to get my wife a couple of exercise games(not my idea, hers) after she tires from the game that comes in the bundle.
 
Josh, any chance you can give us wii owners a Buy this game, get this other game 50% off. How about Ds games, or are you saving those for the 3DS launch? Also on the limits for SYWR, will that also extend to coupons?

Which is, actually, a glitch in the system. A glitch is a problem caused by a coding error (which includes omission).
 
Better then advertised for me today. Went in and grabbed a copy of ME2 and Two Worlds (no LBP2 left). She rang up TW first and it came up as $39.99. Rang up ME2 at $45 and it still credited me 50% off of TW even though it didn't ring up at $59. So I paid $70 total, 45 + 20 + tax:bouncy::applause:

not a glitch, more of an oversight by the programmer forgetting to cover such an obvious detail that a customer would hope for!

Not really better than advertised. Josh confirmed that would work, as have about a dozen or so others.

Read what Josh wrote: It went off of the $59.99 MSRP and not the amount the game was selling for on sale. He said he specifically didn't fix that simply because he had the funding.

My guess is no, on the coupon end. That is, unless of course it gets tied to the SYWR cards, thus requiring a SYWR to get the coupon. I think Josh has said he wants to stay away from that.

Josh has said that the 2 per person limit would be implemented beginning with the SYWR points deals and then continue with the coupons.

The coupons will be 1 time use codes, and tied to an account. The only way that's really possible right now is the SYWR card. Therefore, I think it's a safe bet it's going to be required. At the very least, I hope it's required.

Read post #811 in this thread. Not only has Josh posted that, but I've quoted it multiple times and have already commented on that very post multiple times.

I don't know how I missed that, or subsequent posts about it. Probably an oversight on my part. But that make sense, if it keeps the deals coming, while lessen the chance for scammers, then it's a great idea. Thanks again for pointing that out to me.
 
I'll admit that it was pretty easy to miss the first time. After that.... eh, maybe not so much.

Funny story about the trip to Kmart I had earlier today. I go in there, knowing that they have rearranged the games case. They did have KH Re:Coded in there (8 copies, although in 3 different spots- 1 by itself, 3 in a group, and then 4 in another group. Really disorganized badly), and they had stickers up for the deal. However, the friend that I was debating buying a copy for didn't want one, so I didn't. Glad to see it advertised though! Didn't find anything I wanted in the mess (really, I know the alphabet is complicated, but multiple other Kmarts are capable of alphabetizing the cases A-Z).

I did end up buying a 2-pack of belts, cause mine seemingly has disappeared. Got to the register, paid, and go to walk out.
Since I took public transit today (I really need to buy a car), and had my backpack with me, I thought I'd get stopped by people working or something. Nope. The damned theft detector went off because the guy at the register didn't deactivate the belt. Great.
Get back to the CS desk, and hand the lady the belts. She goes "oh, it's because they didn't deactivate it. Ugh, they really need to get better at doing this..." The guy cashier responds "Shut up, Karen!" to the CSR. I kinda just laughed it off and walked out. Kinda thought the whole thing was funny- I got asked if I had bought anything electronic, the whole spiel. Never did get asked to open my backpack or anything. She deactivated the belts (I kinda thought it was funny they had to be, but it makes sense), and I walked out.

Glad to see that Kmart's done some work with the game section, but it's still not great. Part of it seems alphabetized, but overall it's pretty bad. The worst part is that the stickers talking about the Re:Coded deal were inside the game case (this is the first Kmart I've seen actually put them inside it), so it's not like they can't move things around while detailing the deals of the week.

I did see a copy of ExciteBots: Trick Racing with the Wii wheel stickered at $49.99 that I've never seen before. I'm 99% sure that was part of the October clearance drop, but I am trying to stick to a budget this month so I didn't really check into it.

You are going on the assumption that it was, in fact, an error. You have no concrete evidence to support that.

Interesting. Over here they have about two months of recent releases organised by date, and then afterwards they alphabetise everything. During the holidays the racks were amazingly empty, though. And they did have time to organise those. I guess it was just to show off that their sales have increased or something. Everything is advertised, and the associates mostly know the deals.

The only sticker I had a problem with was the one where Dead Space was advertised for $10. It was posted right in front of Dead Space 2. DS is over on the other side of the department, on the clearance shelves. I do wonder how many people tried to get DS2 for $10.

After being in this thread for so long, I almost feel like a secret shopper that gets paid in Video Games.

And thankfully, there's more than enough evidence to show it wasn't an error. But it's easy to see why that assumption would come out, since buying Two Worlds 2 for $20 is just too amazing to be considered 'real'.

It's normally $14.99, but they just announced today that starting Feb. 8th, you get a 3 month sub for $30 and that you can keep renewing at that rate if you sign up before March 1st.

so yeah, an oversight... now you can quote again and argue semantics but it is not a glitch in the "normal sense".


Josh, I know some Targets in NYC (not in Manhattan specifically if there are any but in other boroughs), do not have ads in store for customers to pick up. One store has the weekly ad posted in the front behind glass so people can look at it while they walk in. However, every single NYC Best Buy (Manhattan ones included) have more than enough copies of the weekly ad.

Now this might stem from advertising/marketing agreements that each company has as someone else pointed out in the thread.
