Just finished playing the Duke demo. I am still picking up my copy. Sadly, from what others are talking we are being "charged" for a 2006 game, ummm hello in 2006 it was $60 then also. What you telling me is that they should have never even made the game, all studios just need to quit and we only have Battlefield, Call of Duty and Madden made and nothing else because we are so focus on only the repeated titles anyways. A game is a game, stop comparing games and treat it as if it will be a game you play or not end!

Um no. Would you pay $60 for Halo 3 right now? No you wouldn't and that's a 2007 game.

that makes no sense. Halo 3 already came out and went through the market.

Just because Duke Nukem is in your opinion a "2006" game doesn't mean anything. It's still being released brand new in 2010. If the quality isn't to your liking, then you pay whatever you want for it.

But the year of release means nothing. Just how good it is.

Agreed! except its 2011 lol but its ok we apparently been doing time traveling anyways with this conversation.
 
What I mean is playing it looks and feels like playing something like Timeshift, HAZE, FEAR, PREY, or Area 51 Blacksite or any of the other forgettable FPS games from back then.

It is of that quality. In fact, I enjoyed Timeshift much, much more than what I played of the Duke demo. It just feels like an "old" game. But if you enjoy it, you enjoy it. I just think if anybody else had released a game of this quality for full retail price in 2011 they would be the joke of the year. But everything outside of the game is what has drawn people to DNF. The long delays/cancellations, and the character and such.

The original did a good job of bringing physics and destructible environments and such and had really fun, unique weapons at the time. What does DNF have over it's modern day competition? Throwing poop around? Rechargable health? Linear Vehicle Sections with Jumps? A pistol and a railgun? Gonna have to do better than that.

ummm hello from just about every preview the game is crap and shouldn't be $60 at any point in time. And you conveniently leave out games like Skyrim, Batman, Uncharted, Dark Souls (Collectors Edition no less..) which are also the same $60.

And yes every last one of those is a "repeated title" but all except Oblivion are from the current gen, and even if you'd argue that there's other games like Rage coming up. Save your money for Rage and thank me later.

If you really think Duke Nukem is going to be just as good or offer anywhere near the same value as any of those then I have no argument but I'm definitely of the opinion that it won't come close and it won't be worth $60. Not even close.

We deserve it because some of us have diligently followed Kmart since the deals first started. There are of course a few parasites ordering off of Amazon but this website is analogous to a den of moneygrubbing vipers so that's just expected.

you're following it because of teh deals, not because u have some blind loyalty to kmart and kmart only - so u don't "deserve" anything, u follow this thread and kmarts deals, u get a game (or multiple games) for a cheaper price, there, u got wat u deserved

Wow... tough choices for my $20 coupon the week of 6/12. WWE All-Stars? Dirt 3? Tomb Raider Trilogy? Or do I wait for the followup Alice deal? Decisions, decisions...

Leaning towards Dirt 3 but if an awesome Alice price is announced before the end of that week that might be my choice.

Alice is EA. They've been doing a $39.99 daily deal so fast on titles lately I'm afraid to buy day 1. But if you have a coupon to "recycle", i think this is a great title.

Yeah, I pre-ordered it from Amazon when they had it for $45 for a short period of time. I was hoping they'd raise it back to $60 and then add a credit bonus (halfway there). If they don't add a credit, I'll just cancel the order and wait for the price drop.
 
I think I'll pick up black ops at that price, I don't think anywhere is going to have it on sale for a while and k-mart deserves my money.

Totally agree. And you know they will have a Flash Deal at about 50% off after a month or so.

I spent my Noire coupon on Castlevania LOS LE and Socom bundle. Not bad for just over $30 out of pocket. Love K-Mart :)
 
Tried the Red Faction Demo. Good thing I did. I mean it was alright, there was nothing wrong with the game, it just doesn't feel like a $60 title to me, even a $40. This is one that will be a $25 or less buy for me.

I mean I liked the Geomod, it was just I don't know still a bit generic.
 
Oh man...that Alice deal was really blown up...only to be darted down quicker than you can say 2 dollars for 3 shots. I really wanted a better deal on that. Ugh..I guess its better than nothing.

I may not buy Madden this year so buying NCAA is tolerable as I hated buying both so close to each other. I get to play the first Tressel-free OSU! Even though in game it may still say his name :(

Is it bad if the largest reason I'd want to go pick up inFamous 2 CE is for the slingbag backpack? Or that I'd actually use it? It might get me punched in the face though. Maybe.

Should be interesting to watch what heretofore unannounced games end up with deals after E3. Hope some of the predictions I made on my blog come true as well. Please please NGP/Vita for less than $300 in 2011.

It's just because my schedule has been a little tied up with other things. You all mean a lot to me, I just have not been in a good place.
 
Wow. Lots of pretty good deals the next two weeks.

-I think my location still has Dead Space 2 limited edition (the regular version that includes the full version of Extraction on PS3), so if I get that for $29.99 I'll be a happy camper.

-Bulletstorm is also a nice price, man that game dropped like a rock in a hurry.
-Glad I didn't get Dirt 2 on release, but even at $39.99. I don't know.
-Tomb Raider is the same thing, good deal but on these "compilations" I've been holding out for the $19.99 prices.

If my location doesn't have the limited edition of DS2, I might get one of the other mentions. Lots of good deals.

It does come with the original game though (I'm 99% sure), so that is something to think about. At least if it's a limited edition and only the 1st print run comes with the 2nd free game - not sure how it works.

I think I'm going to hold off myself. EA games tend to drop pretty quickly, and this doesn't seem like a game I really have to get on day 1.

I've heard that there is not much replay value but I think it will be fun for that price.

I had not checked the forum here for the week because I know Josh has been dealing with a lot (more than a man should have to) but the update looks great. I was wishy washy on the Infamous 2 and Duke but seeing Bulletstorm at $30 has made up my mind. I am jumping off the coupon train till Sept and using my last $20 coupon on Bulletstorm. With the $10 in Points I still have I am walking out with the game a no cost. I will just have to wait on I2 and Duke until the Fall. I have to save my money for the Rage, Dues Ex, GOW3, Batman:AC, MW3, BF3, Skyrim,AC:Revelations and Uncharted 3 super train coming up...holy crap I think I need to find a 2nd job to afford the 2n half of this year!!
