Great to hear!

Saw a few things I would buy after looking thru the stuff on E-shop, particularly the two Wayforward games . Marked them on my wishlist 'til I can grab some cards. Sucks that you can't use Wii points card as I still have a few left over from some other sales. Guess it's time for a Wiiware binge
what? i think you're confusing logic and opinions.
log·ic/ˈläjik/Noun1. Reasoning conducted or assessed according to strict principles of validity
2. A particular system or codification of the principles of proof and inference
to me, reasoning isn't the same for everyone. to me its related to how u think, and we obviously don't all think the same: for example. (to refer to the context) dino said cash can't be replaced because his logic dictates it is lost and can only be gained/lost, never replaced

oh and yea, i can see where u think i was mistaken but, i assure u, i wasnt :) lol

most of kmarts deals, at least, on this site is launch related - not many games are launching this summer. hopefully tho, as i think u r hoping, there will be some deals to clear out some older titles.

Actually, I moonlight in porn. I'm in the process of setting up my own production company, should be up and running within 6 months. I'm also a member of the pickup artist community. Any guy can get any girl he wants, if you study human psychology and learn how to manipulate people's instincts. Short of pursuing a degree in human psych, you can also attend weekend seminars that teach how to be a pickup artist, even if they don't cover the theory behind how it works.
I feel bad I missed this whole train of thought. Not that I want it to start again, but I have enjoyed the back and forth :)
I have nothing further to say about the subject, and I don't believe I could say anything else without breaking the rules of the CAG forum, anyways, so I will respectfully decline to respond to any further comments and let the topic die.

Josh, I can't believe you moved your house over a holiday weekend! What a pain in the ass that would be, especially with all the roads overloaded by the mass exodus from Minnesota when all the parks closed up and booted all the campers out onto the road. LOL. But here's looking forward to a whole new round of great upcoming deals! \\:D/

Ok, I've tried looking through the thread to get clarification for this but to no avail.

Are the gaming coupons good on XBLA/PSN cards? I tried to buy one today and it came up as gaming purchase not met. It was for a 19.99 card with a $15 coupon. I live in NYC. Thanks!

I managed to resist Alice due to my incredible backlog, but I will certainly bite on a reasonable sale for Shadows; I've heard nothing but good things, and have been interested in it for while.

Shadows was good- and I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys the games that those guys put out, but IMO, Alice is a superior game.

Yes, you can use gaming coupons on XBLA/PSN cards. The cards value (Pre-tax) has to be greater than the value of the coupon. Your scenario should have worked, provided you had your SYWR card scanned and had a valid coupon. This issue has been reported before, however, so I would email Josh and see if he can help you out.

It looks pretty good, actually. It's too bad EA did basically no advertising for it at all; maybe that's not their responsibility under EA Partners? Either way, it'd probably do way better if it was more well known.

SHC is ranked #5 .
Sears is rated #5, not SHC. What's going to happen per the article is that Sears will likely get folded into Kmart and disappear as a brand. It seems likely one or the other would eventually have to go, as it doesn't make too much sense (to me, at least, as an outside layman) to have two separate but overlapping brands that would have to, in some degree, compete with each other. But since Sears also specializes in tools and appliances where Kmart does not, I wonder how that merger of stores/brands would work.

What's interesting, is that the article seems to indicate that the SEARs brand would fold into K-mart. That is CRAZY to me. I can't imagine that K-mart's brand carries nearly the same amount of heft that the Sears name has.

Maybe it'll just rebrand all the Kmart stores to some sort of "Sears Home Centers".

My only fear about the whole thing is that Memphis has one REALLY crappy K-mart and a bunch of good Sears stores. It'd be nice if they all stayed and got new names- but I get the impression that some of them will be disappearing.

It is strange to think that Sears wouldn't be around anymore, considering the length at which it has been around. But, just like, Disney, all it takes is bad management to almost ruin an institution (I'm looking at you, Cinderella 3.) But if they did, in fact, merge... I would say it's highly likely that a number of stores would be closed for reasons of redundancy.

They already tried that with "Sears Essentials" right after the merger. It was a big flop, and they rebranded all those stores (that they didn't just close) back to either Kmart or Sears again. Seemed like a good idea on paper, but it just didn't work.

I actually think this wont happen. Sears is like an up scale k-mart and it has many items that would never be sold at k-mart. I consider K-mart a store I will go to if I need something cheap and I don't care about quality (such as a set of light bulbs or something), but Sears on the other hand is when I want to buy a pair of pants for my job, or an appliance.

Not only that but I don't think Sears or K-mart would have the room to support a merger. Hell my Sears and K-mart near me is already packed with stuff, there is no way they could just take half an extra store and add it.

Sears competes more with department stores like JC Penny and Macy's.
Kmart competes more with discount retailers like Walmart and Target.
Not easy to combine the two markets.

Josh, I was wondering if you got my e-mail regarding some problems I had trying to use a gaming purchase coupon at a particular branch.

I've re-read the guide that was posted in the first few posts of this thread and I think I have my answer. But, I'd like to make sure someone was made aware of the problems I ran into recently.

nothing on the pac man/galaga 3DS title? post launch drop would be nice or a 2 for $50 with some of the other third party 3ds games like sims, lego games, cubic ninja, etc.

NCAA '12 in under a week! I'm still torn between what store to get it at. The $20 coupon with NCAA '12 would be used on a PSN but that's a second trip to the store... Especially considering I need the PSN card to buy the feature I like in the other retailers pre-order bonus.

if I could get them at the same time, I'd jump all over it. But I don't want to go back just for a PSN card...

Josh, since you said there's hopefully going to be some kind of preorder system for Kmart in the near future, would it be worth my asking Stock Boy for an allocation of the Mass Effect 3 CE to my local store, or should I wait?

What do you mean? The only other bonuses I've seen are for some Nike Pro Combat uniforms and the downloadable starter guide.

I know I'll personally be buying it from Kmart unless I can manage to find it early here over the next day or so.

Ahh, gotchya. I still plan on getting it from Kmart. I was really surprised that they decided to offer up a $20 gift card. NCAA is a game that I buy every single yet, so that definitely lightens the blow. Too bad they're not open at midnight.

I just saw in the OP that L.A. Noire will be $34.99 starting next week. So it will be $24.99 after I use my $10 off anything coupon I got last week since it doesn't expire until 7/10 (Sunday). Maybe I can make the time to play it then sell/trade it to break even/make a little.
I'd rather have the $20 coupon.
Fair enough, if you know you'll spend it. Getting it at midnight and with the aforementioned bonus is enough for me. That and there isn't any game merchandise I want to use the coupon on

Technically this would be the SECOND time Sears and Kmart have 'merged'.

http://money.cnn.com/2004/11/17/news/fortune500/sears_kmart/

Albeit in 2004 it appeared that Kmart simply acquired Sears but didn't do any of the rebranding that we saw when Gamestop acquired chains such as Funcoland/EB Games and so on, where those chains disappeared into the monolith known as Gamestop.

What amuses me most about the 2004 merger of Sears/Kmart is that Kmart themselves were on the verge of fading into retail history as they filed bankruptcy in 2002.

http://money.cnn.com/2002/01/22/companies/kmart/

Then came out of it 15 months later:

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/11/20/national/main584618.shtml

Anyway, I admit I was saddened in 2002 to hear of Kmart's possible demise, but if I had to choose a brand to keep and a brand to fold I'd choose Sears over Kmart anyday at this point.
