I picked up dues ex augmented edition. couldn't find posters and the first time the coupon didn't print. I thought maybe it was just the 23rd only. I went over to cusomer service to try it again and it went through and the coupon printed. Woo hoo

holy crap! i thought that amazon thread was amazing, then i saw digital... =/, i'd love to join that but until i can upgrade/get a new comp, i wont be doing pc for awhile and even if i did... i dont like digital only =/ (i imported the pixeljunk games so i could have a physical copy)
 
Are the agumented versions out there? I see a few above found it, I only have like 2 stores near me :/

It's Steamworks, so it'll be the same thing either way. Only difference is whether or not you can install from the disc.

I called most stores in my area and one lady went and found 2 360 versions at the hyattsville md store. When she told me the price I knew that was it.

The Greenbelt Md one told me that they are doing inventory this week and no trucks are coming in.

I went in to get Infamous 2 today and the guy was way helpful. I haven't seem him before so I don't know if he came from a new department or is a new hire. Anyways, he was helping out a co-worker and I asked if they had the keys to the video game cabinet. He said yeah and on our way, he asked if I was getting Deus Ex so I'm pretty sure he knew about the deal, but I just picked up Infamous 2.
 
I'm surprisingly bored with DX:HR already and I'm a big RPG fan. It's definitely not as good as Mass Effect 2 and certainly not as polished. So many bugs especially relating to the side quests that I'm kind of turned off.

I'm already looking forward to Dead Island instead.

Also please don't buy Dark Souls, it's supposedly harder than the original and that game was notoriously hard. Don't reward these obstinate oriental developers who can't get with the times. We, as Western consumers, do not want super-hard achievements or over-top hard games.

That's partially why I won't get Catherine, too hard and boring gameplay.

Not only is Demon Soul's not that hard, I'm getting sick of these games that hold your hand the entire time. I DO want super-hard achievements because they show you actually have skill. If you want easy games, stick to the Disney games.

Did you honestly think Demon's Souls was that hard? Did you start gaming this gen? That's really the only excuse, and an understandable one, because there are very few games that don't drag you to the end this gen.

Anyway, just learn to play instead of worrying that other people enjoy it. Demons Souls did extremely well and Dark Souls will easily surpass it due to being on both systems, though i think its a harder sell to most 360 fans.

Its never too late to learn how to play games rather than wander through them collecting checkpoints until you invariably reach the end. Games that require your full attention can be very rewarding.

I think it is great actually.

You guys may not believe this but my most fundamental desire is for the walls of corporate and consumer to be broken down brick by brick and for Amazon to enter the community fray is a tremendous step forward.

Am I in competition with Amazon, definitely, do I respect the hell of out them, without question.

I'll always be for the community first than my company. The day I don't feel that is the case anymore is the day I will leave SHC.

I prefer it more for its splinter cell elements rather than its mass effect elements. So far, it's been on par with at least the last splinter cell game. I agree though, compared to ME it's been rather shallow.

So you would rather we're bombarded by sequel after sequel of the big titles like COD and such rather than get something original that doesn't baby you the whole way through?

That's why I picked up Catherine and will most likely pick up Dark Souls sometime around when it hits GH(since the whole debacle over the 'CE upgrade' and not getting a real full sized physical guide).

The right word is frustrating. No, I don't want to go all the way back to the start of the level because I got insta-killed by an enemy I had no way to know was there. No, I don't want to repeat a level until I have it perfectly memorized. It's not a matter of skill, just mindless repetition. That kind of cheap gameplay got old in the 80s and there's no excuse for it now.

Then learn from your mistakes (ie: stop running blindly into rooms and keep your shield up). Most of the levels were like 10-15 minutes long and they did actually have checkpoints.

I don't see why everyone complains over Demon's Souls difficulty, especially when the dev clearly stated they never made the game just to mess with everyone and make an unpassable game. It's not like I Wanna Be the Guy. It's a nice, pseudo-realistic RPG. I love it.

I understand that games now have infinite checkpoints and continuously hold your hands for most things now, but come on. I'd rather have a game that makes me think about my actions than a 6 hour run-and-gun that has trophies/achievements such as 'KILL 100,000 TERRORISTS/SPACE ALIENS DUDE.' I think this is why appreciation for value and completion have gone down.

As for the deal itself, I really hope we get our tires fixed tomorrow. Been looking forward to Deus Ex for quite a while.

Demons Souls got a GH release for a very specific reason. It did not sell even close to the amount that most games need to get a GH release, and its very unlikely that Dark Souls will get the same treatment.

I realize IATCG is likely just trolling because he's too poor to buy games on release, but i felt like someone should mention it.
 
I'll give dark souls a try. I certainly support any effort to make games more difficult and requiring more exploration.

Any game that doesn't treat the player like he's a drooling moron (like 9/10 new releases do these days) is awesome to me.

and i just picked up my augmented edition of deus ex: human revolution today!!! i wasn't sure if it would still be there today. luckily, the last copy for the ps3 was under anotehr game (PoP trilogy?) so i picked it up. it might've been hidden for the other electronics employee but... eh, lol XD
also got the 8x10 photo (looks pretty nice imo) w/o asking, seems like they did get a memo. $20 coupon printed out no prob and that $5 off $50 from teh kmart site worked no prob too. even had signs up about it

Demon Souls got greatest hits because IT DID SELL 500,000 copies world-wide which is enough to qualify as Greatest Hits.

With Dark Souls being on both 360 and PS3, I don't see why it won't be GH as well.

You're wrong, Demon Souls had sold over 700k copies as of late 2010, thus the GOTY, like Troutyogurt pointed out as well.
