Does the rockband 3 keyboard bundle work for the $60 coupon promotion" I'm not sure if that counts as a hardware or software purchase since it has both.
Anybody?

I'm all caught up, not sure on Jim's status but I'll follow up with him in the morning.

By Monday we should have a dedicated email help line up that my entire team will monitor and help with to ensure you all are helped as quickly as possible.

On a side note, has anyone been able to confirm if buying two copies of MK with a single $20/$19.99 points card will trigger the "free card" glitch, or if it will merely take $10 off of that single card?
No, because buying Mortal Kombat only gets you one discount, no matter how many copies you buy. The only way to get both discounts is to earn the MK one as well as the Portal 2 one.
That's why the opening line of my post was "forgive me if I'm asking a question that may have already been answered." I looked around a bit and I couldn't find anything in favor of or against the idea that it was calculated pre-tax except for on this site. I wanted to be sure this information was correct from anyone who may have had firsthand knowledge of the situation and could tell me directly.

A simple "yes, that information is correct" or "No, you will still get your coupon because _____" would have sufficed, but just like most other forums, if you don't know what everyone else does then you're going to hear about it instead of getting a flat answer that would take half the effort for someone to type.

Even when I acknowledge the question may be common knowledge to others and ask for you guys to pardon my question in a civilized manner, there's no straight answer without an "are you kidding me?" or "it's posted everywhere" backhanded comment. But hey, whatever. I got my answer, so if it makes you feel better about choosing to be condescending instead of just plain helpful, go ahead and enjoy yourselves.
Since you went and removed your question, I have no idea how you worded it. I do see the responses, and I can't say that you've been mistreated in any way. It looks as though you asked a question that is answered plainly in the OP, and a question that people are asking multiple times a day despite that. Acting against you here is the fact that at least one person went on a frothing fit of hysteria the other day because it was, apparently, everyone else's fault but his own that he drove an hour to KMart unaware of it, and by the time he was done ranting he'd alienated himself entirely.

So please understand that it's a topic that people no longer have patience for. I'm sorry you feel wronged, but the reality is that you should expect as much here if you ask whether something in the OP is true.

The coupons print based on the pre-tax total, purchasing two $59.99 games will not trigger the $60 coupon

*sighs* thanks for ur input guys... $10 or $25 worth of sywr points... gone... :( ah well... i expect to be making it up soon wit future deals! keep em coming josh!

edit: also, josh, are we going to get that old, "here's wats on for next week" type format? i enjoyed that because it allowed me to plan my budget (umm... slightly better... lol) and let me know whether or not to get it somewhere else (ebay, amazon, etc)
What does it mean if you ARE a silver or gold member?

I already got the ps3 version of portal 2, but I want the Xbox version too. I hate multiplatform games on PS3, anyone else like this?
I'm a gold member and that means Kmart gives me 10x rewards for my birthday month. Basically 10% off any purchase. I think silver is 5% and Platinum is 15%. Supposedly, once a quarter they give you the bonus, but I haven't seen that yet.

Effectively if i buy 3 full price games, i'll get 18 bucks back for my Gold, 25 bucks back for the Fri/Sat promotion, and then another 60 dollars in gaming coupons. So it's almost buy 1 get 2 free. Can't argue with that at all, though i don't think i can use the Xbox/PSN cards to hit the $150 total as i think they count as gift cards.

There's different online purchasing options as well. I got an email saying i get 5x online purchases and with the 4% from ebates, i effectively can get 19% off on the website as well.

Didn't get the email. Forgot to update my SYWR email info untill I saw this deal info...

The most important part is that points cards likely won't count, since Kmart likely considers those as gift cards (as pointed out by burger96), so only MK and Crysis 2 ($99.98 before tax) would count in your intended purchase. Note also that some stores are also not participating in this promotion (I gave them a line each for easier readability):

Hey thanks for the quick post of the email details! :)

Looks like yay for games but 3rd party gift cards.... XBL/PSN cards are considered a "gift card" probably??

Maybe Josh or a Kmart crew will be able to shed light? :D congrats on the promotion as well!

Wow, so this means if I spend $120 Friday or Saturday I get $60 coupons + $15 worth of SYWR points? And I'm assuming I'd get the normal SYWR for whatever I spend?? This is crazy.

Glad I waited. Hopefully PSN cards are still in stock. There are still several PS1 games I want to purchase even if its going to be a very long time before I get a chance to play them. Hopefully they will have Crysis 2 in the back since they haven't got it in the display.

edit:

I really hope they aren't considered gift cards because there aren't really any games I want to buy right now other than Crysis 2, if my store even has that.

Hmm. The SYWR promotion is listed under My Offers under my account, but I wonder if I technically qualify, since I didn't receive a notification and it mentions it's for Kmart members only. Like, I wonder if it matters that I signed up for a Sears SYWR membership. I dunno.

This

XBL/PSN/Wii cards should be classified as Video Game department, not gift cards department, because otherwise your gaming coupons wouldn't work on them. Gift cards were a completely separate department code inside the computer system, last I knew.

I rec'd the email about tomorrow's promo just as I was arriving back at home from buying 7x 1600 pts cards. They *really* need to start sending out those emails sooner. :bomb:

Yeah, I'm annoyed, spent 140.00 on Thursday and then last night get the email about getting 15,000 bonus points on purchases today and saturday.

I'm not returning and rebuying, wish there were other options. Why they would wait so long to send an email about that is beyond me. I'm a little annoyed! I demand satisfaction! (while acknowledging that none will be coming) :*( I opened the email and was just like, thanks a lot SYWR team, a little heads up and I would have just gone in today.

For anyone wondering what new releases to spend their $15 or $45 coupons on, Motorstorm Apocalypse just got a release date of 5/3/11, so this might be a good option (I plan to get it for sure). This game already got an 8.5 on Gamespot and looks to be fantastic. The coupons are good 4/24 - 5/21, so this release fits perfectly in the timeframe to use them. Just a heads up.

Here's the Amazon link showing new release date:

So would my math be correct here?

$59.99 Portal 2 (PS3)
$59.99 MK (360)
$19.99 1600 points card
$19.99 1600 points card
$20 PSN card
-$10.00 discount for buying portal
-$10.00 discount for buying MK
= $159.96 + tax

Then $60 in coupons, and 25,000 sywr points?

Edit: Why does the sywr site always suck? I'm trying to update my info there and no matter what I put in for my account information, I'm getting "System Error: Please try again later."

Although the PSN/XBOX points cards count toward the Gamers coupons, I don't know if they count toward the SYWR promotion?

In the exclusions, it notes Third Party gift cards ... so not sure how the cards/points are classified:

You don't even have to spend $150 for bonus points. If you spend between $100 and $149.99, you get 15,000 bonus points. This deal is now insane. Spend $120, $60 in gaming coupons, $15 in SYWR. Crazy.

Nice deal on the Knect Xbox 360 bundle, if I had that kind of money, I'd defninitely upgrade my 120 GB elite to the newer model.

I'd like to pick up Halo Reach, but would like the $39.99 price for the limited edition. Then again, I don't think I have ever seen the limited edition at any of my Kmarts, just the regular and legendary versions.

On the upside, all of the copies at my local Kmart were Epic Editions, so I got the Gears beta.

Hey, you're not the not one okay? But to be fair, a purchase on release day is different from a purchase made today or tomorrow to take advantage of the bonus SYRW points. I got my MK t-shirt on Tuesday and I don't think there's any if I buy the game today or tomorrow. $15 in point or a t-shirt?

Yes it is... but most of us already bought the games to get the $15 + $45 coupons, so out of luck for the bonus points this weekend :whistle2:( However, it's a not a total lost, we get to play the games earlier and some of us got the free MK t-shirt (good luck getting one now).

 can't argue with money  I'm just saying that to make myself feel better :) But yeah, the $15+$45 coupons deal is sweeter with the $15 SYRW points on top, definitely. Maybe the SYRW team is jealous of the Gaming Coupon team? I don't know... To me, this small window of overlapping promotion is totally awesome, but knowing when it will happen is the key though. I doubt that info ever be available in this forum...
can someone please explain how to get the 15K-25K points????
I posted the details ~50 posts earlier; all you had to do was look for the spoiler tag. ;) I'll put it here again:

On Friday, 4/22, and Saturday, 4/23, you can earn bonus SYWR points on qualifying purchases (I checked and video games should be included in this :D) according to the following ranges:

$50-74.99: 5,000 points ($5)
$75-99.99: 10,000 points ($10)
$100-$149.99: 15,000 points ($15)
$150 or more: 25,000 points ($25) :hot:

You can find what items don't qualify and which stores aren't participating in this promotion in my most recent post before this one, earlier on the page (#2837).

Ugh, too bad I didn't know about this sywr deal at the start of the week. I spent $150 on games for the coupons. Getting an extra $25 would of been amazing.

The coupons will print a second time around. I just came back with 2nd set of coupons and the 25$ worth of points, for buying like 160$ worth of stuff. Even in the Kmart adds it says" limit one set of 60$ coupons per transaction", nothing in the add says $60 per account.

Last edited by a moderator:
I didn't get any cards Tuesday, just games. I'm tempted to return and rebuy for the SYWR points, but I'm worried that that might play havoc with my coupons. Also too bad it doesn't overlap with the XBox deal that starts on Sunday.
so did Josh ever say whether he was ok with us getting a second set of coupons?
He seemed unsure about whether both sets would work or not. There seems to be a possibility that redeeming one $45 coupon will invalidate the other, since they are tied to your SYWR account, meaning you'll have $60 in valueless coupons.

We won't know until someone decides to be the guinea pig, but they're opening themselves up to losing the $60 value of their coupons.

Question for Josh:

Any chance of you guys clearancing out PS2s and/or PSPs in the next couple of months? There's one of each calling my name in the glass case at my local Kmart.

There is a 7 day price match guarantee, so as long as you have your receipt you can go get the difference back starting Sunday.
