Whoa whoa whoa..... You watch Bay News 9? I thought that channel was really just for show and for Bright House to have as a tax write-off. I kid, I kid, it's about the only channel that never has paid programming on (Fox 13 Paid Programming almost all weekend long, are you fricking kidding?)

I have to hand it to Kmart though. In the last 10 years probably I had bought I think 3 games from them. Back in October I bought 3 games in one swoop at Kmart (plus FO:NV coasters, plus an Epic Mickey box) and then went back for Kirby and will be going to my local Kmart about 3 times in the next 10-14 days.

Josh and his team are definitely making a difference.

My local Walmart used to be horrible about it. Thats not the case anymore though as of the last couple years. Now the only retailer I know of with this issue is...KMART.

It just baffles me how there's such an epic failure at so many Kmarts over such a simple issue. It shouldn't even be an issue! Who are they hiring as managers that dont give a shit about this? Who is running the electronics section that apparently knows nothing about anything they're selling? It's just crazy.

And it isn't every store. My Kmart has the new releases stocked and prominently displayed on release day week after week. This tells me that there is someone working at my Kmart who gives a damn in one way or another. I dont know if it's the management, a single electronics employee, or maybe the higher ups tend to visit this store often for whatever reason? I dont know but it's clear that at some stores there is at least someone who gives a damn and at others there is just nobody that cares for one reason or another.
 
My stores are mostly good. Brookfield and waukesha(wisconsin) are awesome. Always stock new releases, know about deals, and are very nice and helpful.

The West Allis, WI store is the worst. Denying coupons, bad attitudes, talking down to you for buying games, not stocking product on time, refusing to look in the back or faking to look.
I never go there anymore but they are terrible at their jobs.

If anyone at any retail location talked down to me I would be sure before I left they would no longer have a job.
 
i think part of it is a warehouse issue or a shipping issue somewhere in the pipeline, cuz i personally looked through all the new game boxes that came in at bigK northport AL yesterday (wednesday), and ACbrotherhood and NFShp weren't in there, tho a ton of black ops and nba 2k11 were...which they already had out (and which i had already got earlier).

Its just an attitude thing. Sighing when you ask for something, being annoyed at expecting games to be in stock, making comments about what you are buying, just trying to discourage you from "bothering" them, etc.
 
All quality-of-store comments aside, second store I tried had NFS:HP and I got the coupon with no issues. I proceeded to drive across the street to Best Buy and return the one I had just gotten there earlier today before seeing this thread.

Thanks a lot for this thread and my new $25.

Well, from the sound of it, those employees are talking down to you as a result of their reluctance to work and not just a condescension towards you. I think I've ran into employees before who've actually stated negative opinions towards my purchases. It's like, "Oh, this other game you're not getting is so much better!" Way to make the customer feel like crap, even though I knew exactly what I wanted to buy and stuck with it.

Apache Air Assault is difficult to master, yes, but worth it. It's the same for any good flight simulator, and the dual stick approach to helicopter flight will eventually 'click' with you and you'll love it. The game isn't very arcade-y, which is no surprise given the developer -- but once you get the basics down you'll be glad you did.

In Kmarts defense, i've often found problems with the BB in cascade station, portland regarding releases. Sure, they're great with popular items, but picking up Valkyria Chronicles PS3 on release day took a 20 minute wait for the guy to find it. Same with a few other rarer titles.

Just got back from what was without a doubt the worst retail experience I have EVER had. Went into K-Mart to pick up a copy of NFS:HP. I had called before going to to verify that they had the game in stock and was assured they had many copies available. Went in, checked the games case, nothing. So then I had to spend 15 minutes finding a sales floor worker to help me. All they did was page someone else. Waited ANOTHER 15 minutes. Finally someone came up to the electronics counter to help me. Told them I was looking for a game that had just been released on Tuesday that wasn't in the case, and had been told roughly an hour before it was in stock. He went off into the back, was gone roughly 5 minutes. Upon returning he told me that they had not received any games on their current truck and would not be receiving another truck until later in the week and I should check back sometimes next week. I told him that all new game releases are delivered via UPS, and I was asked to leave the store! The guy said I had no right to tell him how things are done around "his" store when I don't even work there. I told him that I wasn't trying to be an ***hole, but that I knew for a fact that all new game releases are delivered via UPS and that they are NOT in their truck freight. I was then told to leave the store and never come back. Needless to say I'm NEVER going to be purchasing anything, games or otherwise, from K-Mart and will be telling every single person who will listen to me to do the same. What a joke.

I appreciate the effort but the jackwagon who dealt me wasn't wearing a name badge and refused to tell me his name when I asked. So I don't doubt there will be absolutely zero accountability.
 
You need to at least share what city it was in. I'm sure from there they can narrow it down to who it was and get justice in your name :)

Was he the store manager? If so, than his name would be easy to find. If not, there is no way I'd leave that store without talking to the store manager.
 
I dunno. Something about this story just doesn't jive. What you said to him, and the tone, to make him throw you out of the store is well, missing. And no name badge? How convenient so no followup can happen.

I'm not saying the events didn't take place but I think there is some missing parts to this story. Just my two cents.
 
I wasn't going to get into some sort of huge debacle over what was essentially some elderly man acting like a little kid. Whatever, I'm just never shopping at K-Mart again. Sucks that I have 25,000 some SYWR and 40 dollars worth of coupons still but I'm not going to give my business to some place so incredibly disrespectful to their customers. Already trashed my card and coupons.

You don't want to get into a huge debacle, but you threw away $65 in credit/coupons because of "some elderly man acting like a little kid." That makes no sense.

Maybe not entirely but it is difficult to believe that anyone aside the manager of the store would tell you to leave and never come back. Who else has that authority? And if the manager did it I am sure as a supposed business-professional he would not do it on a whim like you say in your post. I am sure you are not lying about the problem but I sincerely doubt it went down just like you say.

There is a line between being cheap and being disrespected to save 5 bucks....if someone Bi***ed you out for something for no good reason, would you really go back there even with a coupon???

The funniest part in all of this is that it would have been much worse for them if you simply used your credit and coupons to the closest dollar. You actually just did them a weird favor.
 
Are the poll results backwards now? 75 say yes the games are there vs half that saying no they are not. Maybe I remembered wrong but I was thinking it was the other way around.

He left out the part about how he was so upset he took a baseball bat to every car out in the parking lot and smashed all the windshields. And to make sure all the coupons he threw away in anger could never be used by anyone ever again, he burned down his own house just to be sure.
 
You're guys ignorance is making my head spin. What "means" have I to deal with this issue? I was told to never go back to the store. Yes I could file a complaint but without the guys name its a very very moot point. The store is located in Bozeman, Montana. And for those of you saying that no one short of the store manager could ask me to leave and never come back, that's incredibly flimsy especially where I live. Around here older people have this incredible sense of entitlement, as if their age gives them the right to be a complete asshole to everyone without any regard for courtesy or anything of the sort. It's just how things are in the middle of nowhere unfortunately.

That doesn't matter.

Josh will find out who they are. I had a manager act like a complete asshole to me once and despite not having the name, Josh was able to find out who she was.

You email him, you give a description, as close to an exact time as you can, the store number and all relevant details. He *will* take care of it.

Or, you simply do nothing, while this guy has the last laugh because he treated you like shit. If you won't do it for yourself, at least email Josh out of respect for your fellow CAGs - if this story is true, then there is a chance other people are going to run into this same problem.

Talk to the store manager. You might never get satisfaction, who knows. But so many times I read people get disrespected or wronged, and they just leave the store and vent online. How will that ever change anything? Josh is making a noble effort to address issues, but he can't change 1,000+ stores on his own.
 
Sigh whatever. I'm done shopping at kmart anyways so I'm done even voicing my opinion and concerns. Thanks for the effort Josh, but you can only dress up a pile of s*** so much. Until the retail face of your company changes you'll be fighting a losing battle.
 
Argh... I'm trying to fix or delete the poll and I really don't see a way of doing it. It doesn't seem we have any mod power to do anything to it. It simply does not show up when I try to edit the OP or use any of the thread moderation tools. Perhaps Cheapy himself has to deal with that one...

A quick (yet inelegant) solution, Josh, would be to close this thread and start a new one...

Edit: D'oh! Just saw Shrike's post on the last page confirming that we can't modify polls. Man, this thread moves fast! :lol:

Aside from it not mattering in regards to finding out who it was, it's usually against store/corporate policy to refuse to give your name to a customer. Usually it's a huge breach in their handbook and can lead to severe repercussions for the employee. I know when I worked in retail's it was term-able offense. Furthermore, telling a customer to leave the store and never come back without filing the right paperwork was pretty much just sending you straight to the Ops manager and being told to grab all your crap and get out while they have a HUGE issue to iron out.
 
It has been suggested in certain circles that I too have an incredible sense of entitlement. As a mater of fact I have told my wife to leave our home and never come back several times yet she always returns. I have found that I really don't have the authority to prevent it. What can I do, rip up the mortgage payment book?
 
It was wrong/stupid to trash all of the coupons.. But now that Josh knows what store it was (Bozeman, MT) and it was an older man, he can figure out who it was.

Well, sorry for your experience but josh offered to fix it and you refused, which means you find the situation to be acceptable.

What more can be done? Go on your way if you wont take the assistance of someone at corporate who has an excellent record of fixing problems. Kmart did the right thing here in response to the (big) problem, you did not.

And the retail face won't change since you're doing nothing to help change it, so in essence you're just helping to become part of the problem.

Do what you want, but I know when I had a manager treat me like that, I instantly contacted Josh and the issue was dealt with. You're not just "submitting a complaint" when you email him... you are making sure the correct disciplinary action is being taken against someone whose behavior is completely out of line.

Like another poster said, coming on here, bitching in the thread, and then turning him down when he offered to help you isn't helping to change anything.
 
Well I definitely appreciate the $10 coupon for the RDR DLC disk but I think I will just wait and use my Epic Mickey coupon on it and get it for $20 ($15 + $5 for the box). I can use my Bonus points from black ops to get it for $5 basically. I saw a Tweet a few days ago from KmartGamer that Jan is going to have some sweet deals...anyway we can get a taste?
