Kobe scores 81 Points

Wow I haven't even been keeping up with the NBA at all this year.

81 points? God. Damn.

I guess after the first 40 they just let him keep the ball for good.
never liked him, never will. ball hog.
Kwame Brown is a starter on his team. Being a ball hog is almost required.
Yeah, that's pretty amazing. Is this second after Wilt now?
yes
wilt scored 78 so he still holds the third place as well

Wow.Kobe may be a ball hog but look at his team.I mean the lakers are basically a one man team.Besides to me, ANYBODY in the NBA that can score 81 points should be praised. Not called a ball hog.

KOBE KOBE KOBE KOBE

he hogs the ball, but man, he has to. Kwame... Mihm... Smush... Vujajic... Best they have behind kobe is odom, and hes not as good as he could be. They play to win, and if kobe needs 81 to win, then thats what theyre gonna do

wow,Phil Jackson knows the word "strategy" just give the ball to kobe or micheal jordon. That why he get the paid the big bucks.
So, do you guys think he even has the slightest shot at MVP? 2 assists is eh, not very good.....
Wait are you serious? What was their record when Kobe got suspeneded?

Dillon
he wants it that way, when shaq was in town he was mad because he didn't get to shoot every god damn time. and ANYONE in the nba could score 81 points if the coach lets them shoot the ball every damn time. he's a ball hog, and a rapist to boot. not to mention a michael jordan wannabe. in short, he blows.

whats up with all the kobe haters? You guys may not like him, but at least give him some credit for scoring 81. He shot over 50 % from 3 and when he drove in the paint they were triple and quadruple teaming him and he still scored.

Like him or not, scoring 81 points is not easy. To put it in perspective Jordan, Bird, Magic, Iverson, and Shaq never even scored more then 70. His scoring output has been amazing this season. The last time anyone scored like this was when Pistol Pete played at LSU.

This is the second time this season he's had the opportunity to score 80 or more points if you take into account the Dallas game which he had 63 points prior to the 4th quarter (didn't play in the 4th qt.). The man is on fire and like him or not you must respect what his doing.

One of the first things jackson had to convince jordan to do was share the ball and trust his teammates.

Oh no. Great. School tomorrow. Oh boy. fuckin Kobe. Why is he sooooo good.

I just saw the highlights, and WOW.

I never even considered watching the game since I'm not a Laker fan (although I like Kobe), and why would I waste 3 hours of my life watching LA play the lowly Raptors? I mean, weget every Laker game out here, but not many are worthing seeing to me.

Luckily, I just saw that Fox Sports West is replaying the game at noon Pacific. I am definitely setting my VCR.

If Kobe had more than 2 assists, he would have been involved in every play of the game. He needs to share, but he needs people he can trust. Whether or not he has teammates he can trust is debatable.

Who in the NBA isn't a Jordan wannabe? I was a Jordan wannabe from 6th grade until today.

Kobe has many traits that might make him unlikable, but he's a good basketball player. A great one, even.

Having said all that, go Bulls. Please stop losing. Again.

Yes. I am a Bulls fan first (IL native) Wolves fan second. During all the years the Bulls sucked, the Wolves made the playoffs, and when they missed them last year, the Bulls made it. I can't have both my teams suck. I just can't.

Like not knowing what "no" means.

Ya, I love the bulls. I even went to chicago just to watch a bulls game (well, 2 games) once, and that was early 2004 when they sucked. What the hell is going on? Its not even like they started off the season bad, but they suddenly just stopped winning.

That 9 game losing streak is what really fucked them up.

ya, but I mean what is going on to suddenly make them suck again. And its not like curry got on the court in the 4th quarter anyway last year, so that wouldn't explain this.

That, I really don't know. Since moving out here, I can't watch many of the games like I could back in Illinois, so honestly most of my knowledge of this season has regrettably been based on the Chicago Tribune and ESPNews, neither of which has given me much insight as to how they managed to fall so quickly.

He is a Ball Hog, though. Anyone he gets the ball and keeps it enough times to make 81 points is a ball hog.

So, were his teammates just standing around doing nothing? Should the game be renamed from "team sport" to "one man show sport"? Anyways, plenty of things to hate Kobe for. His showboating, raping and disregard for his team and coach.

However, those guys at least played team ball.

I don't have to respect anything he does. I can be in awe, or be astonished. However, I have no respect for someone that takes "team" out of the equation, or only utilizes them as people that can toss the ball to him when he misses a shot or someone else misses a shot.

LOL :D

i hate kobe.. but wow 81 points is fucking impressive.....

edit: wow.. i know know how to write Shaq Fu by typing it.. never even though of that.. woohoo.. fucking kobe yeah :)
In other news, the Pistons are 33-5. TEAM B-BALL.
It doesn't hurt that they have 4 star players and can play defense. they're one of the few teams that have 4 players that can score 20 + a game, so not one player has the burden of carrying the team. And if you watch them play you know that they feed the hot hand all the time, so thats not team b-ball.

I hate Kobe but I guarantee he will drop 100 plus on someone because he thinks he is bigger than the team and the league for that matter. He's been a selfish bitch since he came into the league and refused to play for the Hornets and demanded to be traded to a high profile team. Don't guard the guy and just let him get his if he can beat you by himself more power to him but they'll never do anything with just him scoring all the points. I wish Bill Laimbeer would've been on the Raptors last night. ;)

I hope he gets hit by a bus and never plays again.

MVP
You don't become great from talent. Talent only makes it possible. Jordan, Russel etc. aren't great because of their statistics, but because they won at all costs, they improved the players around them, and because they could change the game with or without the ball. If you remember the 98 finals Jordan's shot got all the publicity, but without his defensive efforts there would have been no shot.

Scoring a lot takes talent, finding talented players is easy. Finding players that truly improve their team, players that achieve greatness, is rare.

I take it that they put an early curfew on females tuesday night in torronto for there protection.

On a serious note people said jordan was a ball hogg to.

True, but when they started to say that, Jordan lead his team in assists the next few games. Then when they said he couldn't play defense, he went block crazy. The man could do it all and wasn't a whiner.

Personally, I think Kobe is a selfish pile of shit, on and off the court, and I honestly hope that somebody puts a bullet in his head. The father of the girl he raped would be a good candidate.

Kobe gets no credit or respect in my eyes. After he chopped that guy in the throat a couple weeks back, he's been added to my poop list. I don't care if he scores 181. He doesn't even belong on the court.

Yeah he's a jackass

Edit: Ha, seems like a lot of people on here feel the same.
