Oh, and I found Warrior's speech at UCONN the other day. I uploaded it to YSI and sent it to five users who I thought might be interested - Myke, JimmieMac, GuileWasNK, AdamInPlaidum and MorPhiend.. I didn't post it publicly because I didn't want it to die out. Myke won't get to DL it 'til Sunday so I wanted to keep it alive until then.. after all five get it, either they can post the link or I'll do it.. if it's still alive.
I'm here. I've spent a great deal of time drinking (last night, I went out to an old Catholic church that was converted into a brewey (www.churchbrew.com). Having grown up Catholic, I loved every blasphemous moment of that. Had some good conversations, made an excellent presentation and met some doctors who are really interested in reading my research in-depth, so it's been great thus far.

Going out to drink tonight, and heading home tomorrow (with a pitstop at the Pittsburgh Ikea). Haven't spent much time reading the web, but...

Rhyno is gone? Good. Let TNA use him, and with any luck, he'll still be signed to work the ECW PPV. If not, oh well; good luck to him in TNA.

What is YSI? I'd like to read the Warrior transcript. I'm trying not to be judgmental, but it isn't working very well. From a brief report I read Thursday morning, he responded to a gay student by saying "I can't hear you with that thing in your mouth." He also made a subtle reference to an Arab student as a "towel head" (or some similar remark). Should he be granted free speech? Yes. Should colleges have to put up with ad hominem attacks and polemic from a person paid to speak as an intellectual? You've got to be fucking kidding me. If he's going to talk that way, put him outside of the student center with the Green Party hippie motherfucker and the Evangelical christians. Don't pay a man to be so trite and petty. That's all I'll say about it.

I'm glad to hear SD was enjoyable; I look forward to watching it when I get home.
Does anyone have a video of that botched Jackie Gayda match from the 7/8/2002 Raw? It is considered the worst match ever and I really want to watch it. The search engines got me nowhere.
Which one is it, is the one where she tag teamed w/ Molly Holly or the one where she was attacked and dragged out to the ring by Molly Holly?

I believe he's referring to the one where she was in a tag match and horribly sold a whiffed Trish bulldog. Not sure who her partner/Trish's partner was.

Thanks Scorch, I waited until later this evening so I could watch the whole thing uninterrupted....

I listened to the file and Warrior started off actually friendly. His general ideas about working hard and achieving goals was fine, but closer to the end though he started insulting some students who were trying to answer some of his questions (they didn't give the answers he wanted apparently). Nothing, was really controverisal until the "Are homosexuals as legitimate as heterosexual?" He might as well had walked in Compton with a KKK hood on. It doesn't surprise me he got defensive though. Many people who call themselves "educated" are so sure of their own opinions that they don't use any tact at all to express themselves. It didn't get to a near riot IMO but it was heated, that is for sure. It appears this was to be a motivational speech and it got WAY more political than it should have.

It's fucking Warrior.

Why are people bent out of shape?

If you've ever read his site for 2 seconds you know he's out of his mind, and to never take him seriously.

The surprising thing is when he started he wasn't nearly as rambling as he is when he writes. He started getting loud though, almost like he was cutting a promo. Of all the wrestling personalites to choose to speak at a college about motivation or anything else, I would choose Mick Foley. Whether people like or dislike his ideas or political views, Mick is a likable guy that can connect with a wide range of people.
Custom figure.
Maybe. It's at least a custom ring. However, there's a Paul London WWE figure scheduled for release (if it's not out already).

Done.

Back To Business...

With great respect and consideration to all of my friends and supporters through the years, I sincerely feel that you should hear the following announcement directly from me. At times information can get misconstrued on the wrestling Internet. I want to ensure that before the anticipated communication leaks occur, that you get the complete truth that you so rightfully deserve.

During a telephone conversation yesterday with John Laurinaitis, from World Wrestling Entertainment Talent Relations, I was informed that the company decided to terminate my booking contract dated October 3, 2003. The contract specifies that the agreement may be terminated for any reason whatsoever by providing me with ninety (90) days advance written notice. My 90-day written notice will be issued by WWE Legal Department on Monday, April 11th.

I would like to say that our conversation was a courtesy, very cordial, and definitely not unexpected. The WWE creative department has not been able to come up with a viable storyline for the Paul Bearer character since he was “buried” in cement at THE GREAT AMERICAN BASH on June 27, 2004.

The last two years have indeed been a blessing, as the company made a major life saving surgery possible for me. I will always treasure the many friendships and memories of my almost 14-year association with The McMahon Family. I will never shut the door on a future relationship with WWE, as you well know anything can happen.

The next 90-days will be very important for me, as I must make some serious career decisions. Once again, I appreciate your thoughts and prayers. For some odd reason I feel like it’s somebody’s birthday around here tomorrow. I know it can’t be mine! Then again, it very well could be. Hehee…

Take care, my friends.
~Percy "

Well, I've got to agree with them letting Paul Bearer go. Cause they basically killed his character last year. There would be no way to really bring him back, cause the last thing they mentioned of him, was that he had serious internal injuries due to that "concrete crypt". Although they could've fit him in with the Heidenreich story line after Heyman was let go, since that would basically be a revenge storyline.

He had plenty to offer behind the scenes, though. He didn't necessarily have to be an on-screen character.

Another thing, Warrior reminded me more of Luther "Lemme have some o' dem peas, I had peas befoe'" Reigns....

One one the few thing from the Gamefaqs wrestling board that amused me.

The one negative of Wrestlemania weekend was an incident involving Rhyno, that has since resulted in his release.

Rhyno is going through a bitter divorce, and his wife is planning on moving to Germany with their child. She showed up at Wrestlemania, but without their daughter, and Rhyno lost his temper in the hotel. He got heated and violent and security had to be called, and he actually threw a large potted plant described as too large to lift.

Tommy Dreamer talked Rhyno into going ot his room, but he ultimately resisted and got into a shouting match with John Laurinaitis, saying basically that he had nothing left to live for and that he didn't care if he was released.

Rhyno was taken off the road immediately after the incident, and has since been released from WWE

myke.
...well, perhaps, after all, there just may be much more important things in life than wrestling. Family is definitely one of them. If this is true, this is a huge departure for the WWE, who prides themselves (and will definitely tell you) on their charitable contributions to wrestlers. I hope that, if this is somewhat the truth (about Rhyno) that they're seeking to help take care of him, that they reserve their charity for all wrestlers, not just top-tier stars.

You still haven't acknowledged whether or not you got the damn PM I sent days ago that contained a video of Warrior at UCONN. I'm waiting for you to DL it so I can go public with the link.

Does anybody have footage of the "Sexy Kurt" clip that they could send me a link to? PM would be best. Also, who here remembers Booker T's take on HBK's theme? That was back in the day of nWo on WWE.

I think I have the link or the file still on my pc, but I can't be for sure until I get home.

I'd also love to have the Sexy Kurt clip. Seen it, but it's something that needs to be viewed many times. Thanks.

I always liked the phrase "future endeavors". It makes it sound like they are going on to open Ryhno's House of Pizza or Matt Hardy's Tire Shop.

Come in with athletic tape on your forearm and get 10% off.

It's a shame they let Matt go... but, it's probably best for him. WWE will never have any good plans for him, and he'd have to see the backstabbing horsefaces every day... and see them get pushed.

If TNA picks Matt up, he'd be the first WWE-reject I'd want to see there.

So, watch him be in Jeff's shadow once again... and probably be jobbing to Waltman, who fucked a woman with a penis.

That is just sad. I wish they would let Matt have a title run. Seriously. Look at how WCW treated Chris Jericho and then look at how he carried the company (WWF) for a few years. Just because someone isn't Brock Lesnar (in size) doesn't mean that they can't be a legitimate title holder...

That's a real bummer about MHV1. True, he had a horrible gimmick, yet still managed to stay over. I'm sure he'll continue to get work, though. I don't really like TNA but I suppose they'll probably pay him the best, in the US, anyway.

Do they always put up a graphic on the front webpage of WWE.com when they release wrestlers? I rarely check the WWE homepage, so I may have just never noticed that before. But usually it seems like they just quietly fire them,

Version 1.0 was not a horrible gimmick when he was a heel on SD. A lot of people were into that.

The problem was when he came to Raw, and became Lita's bitch.

It's a shame... if Matt never came to Raw because of Lita, he'd probably still be fairly successful on SD. Lita really screwed the poor guy. I feel bad for him. :(

I think that's the first set of releases that they've mentioned since they gave their webpage such a massive upgrade, so I know I've never seen it done that way before. I could be wrong, though - when were Billy Gunn, Albert, et. al released?

myke.

Matt Hardy release... that's fucking bullshit... I quit... this asshole pushes Edge to the moon, and fires Matt Hardy... and don't the Hurricane and Shannon Moore still have contracts... I... I'm just in shock.

Yep, Hurricane and Moore are still employed.

I'd expect Shannon to be gone soon either way... but WWE will keep Hurricane around since he still sells lots of merchandise.

A better question would be why people like Val Venis, Stevie Richards, Viscera... are still around.

Many times people just say they'll stop watching WWE after some release like this, and don't mean it... but this time, I think it will really have an effect. With both the teeny girls, and the hardcore fans.

This is really a bullshit release, since it's being reported that Matt didn't ask for it.

On a lighter note:
I thought I had seen it all. In my nearly eight years of using the Internet, I've been threatened by lawsuits from webmasters, psychotic game developers, heavy metal bands, adult men who wear diapers, and even more psychotic game developers. I had never, in my entire life, thought I would eventually receive a lawsuit from THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR. Well, not exactly the Ultimate Warrior, but his "Director of Communications," whatever that means. I guess that's the guy who picks up the phone when it rings and then turns it around the correct way so Mr. Ultimate Warrior is speaking into the correct end.

This is hilarious stuff. Make sure you read all the pages of this, to see the various stages of correspondence. It's a pretty low life to be a lawyer who hands out Cease and Desist letters to parody sites on the internet... and to be mercilessly mocked by someone who just doesn't care.

Well... Val, I have no idea, Vis cuz he's huge and Vince is obsessed with large men that can't wrestler, but Stevie Richards is one hell of a wrestler. Sadly he'll never be over with the fans, and as a result he's lucky to have a job as an official WWE jobber. He's kind of like the next Brooklyn Brawler. Oddly enough the Brawler lives in the same neighborhood as my Grandma, go figure eh?

Anyhow, I want to read what Matt says on his website before I go shooting off posting more horse jibba-jabba.

Basically it looks like Vince made a business decision, and cut out Matt because he felt he really doesn't need Matt. As a business administration major, I fully understand the concept that business usually doesn't mean doing the "right" thing (like Spike Lee).

Oh and I found this:
http://img174.exs.cx/gal.php?g=dsc000298gi.jpg

It made me laugh.

Oh and word on the street is the reason WWE let Matt go is because they didn't like how he posted everything about his break-up with Lita on his website. The good thing here is I now have another reason to watch TNA. Gee, I wonder if Matt shows up to the next taping, and is on the show as soon as he's cleared to wrestle.

On a Warrior-related note, this site is also fun:

http://www.nativetatanka.com/

I say this because Tatanka was at one point actively posting on his message boards, along with someone who he believed to be the Ultimate Warrior. Well apparently word got around to the real Warrior that he was being impersonated on Tatanka's site, and the Warrior demanded an apology from Tatanka, and I believe threatened a lawsuit. Anyhow, that pretty much killed the message board, as Tatanka has stopped posting on it unfortunately. Then Mr T showed up... oh man that's some funny stuff.

Apparently most of the blame was on him posting the news about him & Lita on his site, cause WWE doesn't like news leaking out on the internet. But also they found it odd that when both him & Edge were at a house show, Edge's tires were slashed.

i cant believe they released him!!! horrible...

now we can see the hardy boys back together in tna..

i bet has a no compete clause for a certain amount of time

When did this happen? Recently, I presume?

Edge isn't the first nor last person to cheat on their spouse, and nor is Lita. It is very bothersome, though, that the "innocent" one (two sides, kids) has been hurt the most.

myke.

I can't wait for Ted Turner to start up another promotion, as expected within the comming year. The timing to kill WWE couldn't be any better, their ratings are on a forever downward spiral, and they're not pulling in any new viewers; in fact Vince has pretty much driven away all but the most hardcore of wrestling fans. So, to him I say good job.

Oh, I hope you all checked out Tatanka's website. It's top-notch!

I'm pretty bummed about Matt Hardy. He was so good on Smackdown as the Cruiserweight champ. And his southern accent made me crack up every time he said "Kane you bastard!". Hopefully he'll get put in the X-Division in TNA.

And aren't Kane and Lita still married?

Also, do you guys think my sig is too tall?

I read that this morning (saw it at Fark) and laughed my ass off.

Funniest thing I've read in a long time - next to Lowtax's ICQ prank article about him vs some Insane Clown Posse fans. (now that is freaking hilarious as well)

I have no problem with it.

I think Matt Hardy was grossly overrated by many fans, however he SHOULD NOT have been fired. Edge and Lita were the only ones wrong and to expect someone in Matts position to "keep it in house" is ridiculous. I believe in karma, and Lita and Edge will pay somewhere down the line. Vince, who has cheated on his wife before, should know how that makes a person feel but I guess he felt Edge should be rewarded.

I wish once, just once, HHH was coming out just to wrestle. No interview, just wrestle a match like everyone else. God I hate listening to him. I would give anything, ANYTHING, for Jericho and HHH to switch places. Even if that means HHH gets an interview segment. Jericho is so much more entertaining.

Also, WWE seems to have remembered that Lita and Kane are married, just when I was wondering myself. Good for them.

And is this the return of my favorite angle from last year? AKA, all the faces beat up HHH for no good reason other than he sucks?

WWE will once again be holding a "$250,000 RAW Diva Search," as per the unveiling of a new minisite for the competition on WWE.com.

The application offers the following:

Think you have got all the qualities of a Diva? WWE is seeking beautiful, glamorous, physically fit, talented and charismatic women to participate in the $250,000 RAW Diva Search. As part of the Search, WWE will host a casting call event where judges will select eight finalists and two alternates based on who best exhibits the qualities of a WWE Diva.

Those looking for more details or the application can head over to WWE.com.

Yesterdays Chicago Sun-Times has any article by BlackJack Brown on the forthcoming Draft that will occur NEXT week, April 18 at the Supershow at Madison Square Gardens. The article speculates on some of the candiates to be moved and how the draft will probably be improved quality wise compared to last years.

The article also notes WWE will be bringing back Saturday Night Main Event in the forthcomming monthes on NBC.

The article is available at http://www.suntimes.com/output/wrestling/cst-spt-bjack10.html

I own three Matt Hardy t-shirts, and loved his character. He was my favorite character in the WWE and I am EXTREMELY pissed over this situation! I hope Lita gets a career ending injury and I hope Edge realizes what he has done, and hope he regrets it down the line.

I am pretty upset over Matt's situation.

No Matt Hardy.

Christy Hemme wins.

HHH talks.

HHH wrestles and wins against two men.

Chris Masters wrestles.

Chris Masters talks.

The diva search is back?

myke.
...I'm glad I have so much homework all of a sudden. fuck this show.

To be perfectly honest, though, ZL...Raw has been pretty consistent for 3 years or so (in terms of ratings). They aren't good ratings, but they aren't bad, either. That's a bad sign, to me. Nobody can stop watching this shit. I do assure you, though, that I'm turning my tv off right now.

Who would have thought it would only take $500,000 to replace Gail Kim and Nidia (two trained wrestlers) with a current novice and another novice to be named later. Great move WWE. While I think they did get lucky with Christy Hemme remember, they really wanted Carmella. Carmella would be doing even less than Stacy Kiebler if she were still around.
God I wish WCW and ECW were still arond to be legit threats to the WWE. I hope NWA-TNA expands but they need to get rid of the 6-sided ring, sign most of the WWE cast offs, and find a way for Jeff Hunter Helmsl... I mean Jeff Jarrett to get the hell off the air.
