Left 4 Dead - Gen. Discussion & Info
Whaaaa? :( Damn, sorry bro.
ha it's all good... hopefully they send me a brand new one and not some re-furb lol
you'd think the 360 Elite models with the falcon chip were immune to the RRoD... yeah right.... see you guys in 2 weeks, lol.
That sucks! When I sent in my falcon console back in December, I got the exact same console back.

I don't mind that happening, as long as they fix the damn thing lol.

Still cant get Nothing Special. I am actually pretty sure its the people I am trying to get it with that screws me up. Its not that they suck its that the cheese requires so much coordination to get and they cant seem to grasp certain aspects of it.

Might be looking for a CAG group to get it instead.

Sucks about your Box, C. I'd prefer to get the rest of my Vs achievements out of the way with you and Ivan around to fast track the process so I'll wait until your replacement arrives. Red Mist and Zombie Genocidest I can get anytime on any difficulty with anyone. Not sure how I'm going to swing Safety First with bots or randoms but it's not a big deal.

I'm going to put L4D aside for a while, but I definitely want to go for those versus achievements with you guys once Galego's Xbox makes the long trek to Mesquite and back.

Also, I think Safety First is actually easier with bots. They never hit you, so you are the only one at risk of causing any friendly fire damage (even if they hit explosives like a gas tank and you get burned, it doesn't count as friendly fire for the purposes of the achievement). Just run through the whole No Mercy campaign on Easy and only use melee. I used the Jesus room for the finale, which made it even easier. I think I fired three or four shots during the whole campaign, and it probably took me about half an hour from start to finish.

ha sounds good to me... my xbox is actually working right now but i'm sending it back in the coffin to get fixed regardless... at least i can enjoy it a little while longer until the coffin arrives lol

Sweeeeeeettt. I think I'll try that strategy in a few minutes. Thanks Ivan. I thought the no friendly fire on Easy nullified any chance of getting the achievement.

Besides the Jesus room...

The best pace really is to have one person on the turret, and the other three on the level right above/behind the turret. Turret person does their thing, while the others watch turret person's side and smokers off in the distance. When the tank comes, split half to the left, half to the right roofs. "Cycle" the tank or set it on fire until it dies, then repeat.

Just incase, "cycling" (this is what my friends and I call it, I don't know what it really is called) is:
The tank has a certain priority list. It targets whoever is doing the most damage to it. If someone gets downed by the tank, the downed person becomes priority one. When you cycle the tank, only one person shoots it enough to get the tank to chase them. Then someone else shoots the tank until they get chased (thus, becoming priority one) then another person shoots the tank, etc.

Or just light it on fire and run away from it (save your ammo).

You can also camp out under the ramps, which might be easier depending on who you play with.

I've beaten it a couple times on expert (with all the credit going to teammates who are MUCH better than I am) and once on easy (to get Untouchables) using the following strategy:

Go in the stairwell behind the room with the radio. Put two people at the bottom and two at the top. Then blast a couple holes in the doors big enough to shoot out. Usually, the doors themselves will last for a while, since you can shoot away a lot of the horde (through the holes) before they get close, and the rest of the door does a great job protecting you from smokers, hunters, and boomers.

When the tank comes, light it on fire and run. You can usually see it coming from pretty far off if you're up on the ledge with the minigun, and it's slow to climb, so it's usually not too hard to avoid it.

I'm finally down to 3 achievements (Zombie Genocidist, Red Mist, Dead Wreckening). I can't believe I'm going to get 1000/1000 on this game after initially thinking I wouldn't be able to top 500-600 total

does anyone know the best way to kill the witch in 1 headshot to get that achievement? cause ive tried it multiple times with the assault rifle, but it doesnt die in one shot.
does anyone know the best way to kill the witch in 1 headshot to get that achievement? cause ive tried it multiple times with the assault rifle, but it doesnt die in one shot.
1. Pick up the Auto-Shotgun (10 round clip).

2. Walk up to the witch.

3. The second she turns her head at you pull the trigger (the witch process is: turn head, stand up, attack. So you need to hit her right as she turns her head). I usually aim slightly above the neck and get it every time.

You have to use the shot-gun, auto shotty is better. Best way is to sneak behind her, get as close as possible and wait until you have her attention. While she's sitting, she's invulnerable. Once she starts to get up keep that shotty trained on her head and start pulling the trigger.
While she's sitting, she's invulnerable.
Damn wish I'd known that, it took me ages to get it cos I kept trying to hit her when she was down.

I ended up getting it this weekend, I was playing with a friend on Live and one of the AI players startled her. She wasn't paying any attention to me and I shot her at about neck level with the shotgun, achievement unlocked.

I also managed to get Man Vs Tank by myself to, by using the Jesus room.

Hey all been looking for some folks to play with and not the general pop. aholes on xbl. I doint play all that much but I usually play a few times on the weekend. Hit me up with a friend request if you are looking for someone to play with. I am wanting to tackle the expert campaigns btw

You probably already know this but you can boost Dead Reckoning fairly easily with one other person, a friend and I were doing it last night and we were getting about 900 points of damage for each turn as the infected.

I just started playing this tonight off-line co-op with my friend and after the first achievement which I got no problem every other time I would unlock one I would get "your profile failed to update" message and I would miss out on the achievements. Is this a common problem with the game?

A Happy Panda for the love of god how the hell did you get Nothing Special? I cant not get this for the life of me maybe you can help or something its the only achievement I have left in this game.
He got it the same way I did.
WOW, Really? Thats awesome to know and since I am a mind reader I completely understand exactly how you both did it by reading the abstract post of someone I wasnt actually talking to.

Hey but at least you satisfied your hard on for posting to me every time you see my name. After all you dont care about "Soodmeg," so much so that you are compelled to constantly bring me up. You want me to link this to the OTT so your friends can see it or should I?
Wow how about we get back on topic:

Was the Jesus Room glitch fixed on the 360 or just the PC?
It still works on the 360. I did it last night as a matter of fact.

Also, any CAGs up for some runs on Expert this weekend? I haven't finished any of the levels no Expert yet.

There is so much hate between PC and console L4D players. It's terrible looking at the steam forums whenever someone posts about one of the other in the wrong area.

Regardless, if anyone is interested in playing some versus or possibly expert campaign i'm usually on at some point overnight(U.S. central time) Gamertag - Enragedpecan1

Also play GoW2 and CoD4.

(Just came out of my lurker closet on CaG :whistle2:#)

Send me a message or Friend Request if you want to play some L4D! I can help with Expert. Only need to beat Blood Harvest for that one achievement. Or we can just play for fun. Either way, I want to play some L4D this weekend and can't wait for the DLC!

My gf and I finally passed No Mercy on expert. The really screwed us up so many times that I was starting to think they harbored some sort of grudge against us.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Expert campaigns my friend where the AI Director is so damn cheap and just plain angry you start to speculate as to whether or not it IS actually AI. Especially with regard to how easily your best laid plans are brutalized almost as if the game can hear you and teammates.
How about post that PC gaming garbage in the PC gaming forum?
K, I will post it there. Thanks for not being a dick about it.

Welcome to the internet, where any registered username allowed you to be an asshole to the entire world.

I feel yeah.

Anyway I played a little L4D this weekend but I never saw and CAGS playing it when is I was on, so I'm still up for some expert runs whenwver. Also, whoever kees up with the CAGL4D name needs to update as I've been waiting for almost 2 weeks to be accepted.

Me too, I've been playing a lot lately and am looking to complete an expert run on No Mercy. Naturally, I've been blaming my lack of good team mates (and stupid AI) rather than my own skill for lack of success :D Anyway, look me up if you're interested. My XBL is the the same as my forum name.

Still need to finish Blood Harvest on Expert if anyone will help.

Absolutely sick of this punishing campaign, no telling how many hours I've wasted on it.

hahaha yeah Blood Harvest took us literally a week to finally beat(it was more so that we were always missing a legitimate good 4th)

if my Xbox wasn't dead I'd help y'all out

Word. Myself, Cmart and Ivan have tons of horror stories about that damn campaign. If I'm on Live send me a FR around 9 or 10 EST and I'll team up with you guys for a couple of hours.

I don't see any reason why not. We can't rely on the CAGL4D account since a large majority of those registered are rarely on so this thread is your best chance of finding someone to play with. Expert Blood Harvest is probably the most brutal introductions to L4D itself but you'll get much better at the game the more you drag your lifeless carcass back to it, haha.

I need a team for Blood Harvest because I have had nothing but bad luck this past week. Anyone wanna try The Tractor Glitch?

How to do the glitch:
Jesus Tractor (minimum of 2 human players)-- the tractor is in the corn field.
After getting to house and clearing zombies stock up. Then Go to tractor defend each other until everyone is on tractor. then last player run and call for rescue.
when all players get up there. sit and punch each other till the end then run (punching stops smokers from grabbing each other)

the easiest way on tractor is (as if approaching from the house) on the right hand side, the fence is leaning on tractor, jump on the fence and run up it, run and jump off the fence to the right but as soon as you leave fence hold left, so you go around to land on tractor (i recommend practising and best player at it goes to summon rescue, another way is to spam the jump button from the front of the tractor (but I cant manage this method but have seen it done)
