Left 4 Dead - Gen. Discussion & Info

I have never seen you before, but I just looked at the first page of your posts.

I think you might be the worst thing ever.

So I was playing this last night, about 1 in the morning EST. Me and three other guys. One of the guys drops out and this little kid joins the game. He just starts running around as Zoe, shooting at Louis and yelling, "black guy! black guy! you're a black guy!" (the guy playing Louis actually WAS "a black guy!). Then he was mauled by zombies and no one would help him up.

So then his mother gets on the headset and cusses us out, saying that "he's only four years old" and "you just wouldn't heal him because he's beating you, you're getting beat by a fucking four year old."

So the guy playing Louis is like, "WTF bitch, you're letting a four year old play this game and then swearing at him, you're a terrible mother."

So she cussed us some more and then left the game.
 
Why is a 4 year old playing Left 4 Dead! Why does he have a mic! What the fuck type of family is that kid from. i was playing Super Mario and TMNT when I was four. How could a parent watch that and think it's OK for her child?

What you should do is press x repeatedly next to the body, so it just keeps flopping around like a fish lol.

I have heard about so many situations where a mother picks up the headset and starts bitching. I would have loved to be a part of that conversation.

that is the funniest thing I have heard all day. it also let's me know how different my parents are from other parents. when I was 15 they still wouldn't let me get M rated games (that didn't stop me but it meant I had to hide them).
 
I'm online right now. Anyone want to play some versus and help me out? I've never played versus before and I don't want to get stuck with asshats.
 
I have about 9 cheeses left I think all legit. Damn this apparently short game is getting more play time then all my other games combined.

Congrats Valve once again you have made a quality product.


But I agree that I find it really sad that people are using the moveable object glitch so much. The game doesnt track stats as far as I know (at least on 360) yet these douche bags still feel the need to ruin a game. 90% of the time you dont even get anything from doing it....either all of the humans quit or you spend the next 40 min endlessly dying trying to get them.

This needs to be patched with the quickness.
 
Just got this game in the last week or so and need some decent expert players. I've been playing mostly with my cousin and two bots but we can usually only get like halfway through a campaign on expert before we have to move down to advanced (which is too easy :roll:).

I think I was 14 or 15 when I was allowed to get M-Rated games, but my parents actually read the ESRB content warnings, and looked in to see that the content wasn't anything too awful. I think the general consensus was it wasn't anything you couldn't see on TV.


Man, this game truly is like crack. It takes everything I love and puts it into one... a Valve shooter... and zombies...

Dont forget the built in griefing engine aka Versus mode.
 
i just got the game. learning the ropes but would love to have some good folk to run through co-op campaign with.

Every game I enter has 12 year olds in it, think I am going to take a break from public games until school starts. Anyways two nights ago there was a live tag that was cookie something. I thought it was a girl and so did some random guy who joined. He asked a bunch of questions like "what do you do for a living", "how old are you", "what do you do for fun" then eventually on about the third act he goes soo do you have a boyfriend and the cookie tag went "umm no I'm not gay dude" then us other two in the room just started rolling and the guy trying to pick up 13 year olds left.
I can't wait until dlc.
 
I've only played a little bit so far, but what I played we got our asses kicked, but was totally invested. Can't wait till I can sit down and really invest in it.

beat Blood Harvest on Expert the other night to grab the Achievement for beating all of the campaigns on Expert. If you need help, I just posted a writeup on Expert strategy to my gaming blog. It's like 4000+ words so I didn't want to post it here since I think it's too long for a forum post. But it has lots of general strategies as well as the holdout finales for each of the four campaigns too. Check it out if you need help on Expert or want to get better...

Honestly, does anyone know how to move the fucking forklift and generator out of the way. This glitch is just simply lame.

Someone said something about needing a pipebomb but how do you actually do it?
 
A friend and I got the generator out of the way once simply by shooting it. Like we got up against the left side of it, used pistols to start shooting it while pushing on it with our bodies. It might have been a fluke though.

Did the same thing, except I just did what the Infected did to push the generator. Pushed it by myself while crouched, also on its left side, and all four of us were out of the elevator in less than five seconds.

Might've been just a one-time thing, because I haven't seen it happen again, partly because I haven't run into the glitch a lot anymore.

I think another way to get it out of the way is by incoming horde attacks. Sometimes the zombies might push the thing out of the way if enough of them start piling on top of the generator. Take this with a grain of salt, but I've seen people get out of the elevator after a few Boomer vomits.
 
Is it me or is it getting insanely hard to find a enjoyable game anymore with this?

I dont know if its the Christmas crowd or what...but god damn did the community for this go down hill quick.

Only about 5 of my last 20 something odd games were any fun at all, whether it was playing as the survivors or the infected. I guess the skill gap between us Vets (started at the demo) and the freshmen is just to big.

This game just highlights how horrid a lot of people are at games as they continue to show the inability to grasp even the very basic of team work. Hell I think the last 5 games I played didnt have a single person talking besides me. How you play this game without a mic I cant even begin to understand.

There is just a ever increasing population of Rambo's, wanna be greifers and people who just plain have no idea what the hell they are doing to the point that they are completely handicapping the team.

I just played a match where it took longer to load then to completely crush the human team. They only made it 6% through the map....basically 1 hallway.

This is very disappointing.
 
The majority of the xbox live community do not understand teamwork. That's why in Halo 3 you see Team Slayer dominate the vast majority of online play. And then theres the few thousand of us that prefer team objective. But then when you play team slayer and you help take down an enemy, you get yelled at for stealing a kill. In a TEAM game it really shouldn't matter.

But to end that mini rant, I registered my team on MLG's gamebattles.com and we've lost two games so far. At least they've been somewhat close and challenging as opposed to dominating every random group of people on XBL. Maybe I should start recruiting...
 
I had a game where the human team only scored two points between one safe house. They barely made it out the door. It helped that the last guy felt like shooting a few stray zombies down the alley rather than help his three pinned teammates. I don't think he even noticed them. If only he had turned 90 degrees at some point. Gave us enough time to incap+kill a survivor and then pounce him too...

Hey dastly, what's your team's name on GB? Me and my friends just made a team too, but we haven't had time to play any matches yet on the ladder (work, internet problems, just being busy overall). However, we're looking to start playing some matches in the next week or two, so if you're interested in a match, let me know.

Team name is Sneaky Ass Boomers on GB. :lol: Hell, I'm willing to join your team since it seems like I'm the only one ever available to play games on the weekdays. I really hate playing with random XBL people.
 
Actually, I've only run into *1* game of silent assholes. Every other game has turned out pretty well.

I've only played the co-op campaign, though.

Yeah, I was specifically talking about Versus though. Although I might not have actually said it.
