The gangster isnt really hard to feel but it took me a long time to find more than 1. I usually save the bottoms of the package and make a bump cheat sheet but after buying from a few places and getting several different bump sets per figure i gave up on that and just feel em up.

Yeah that's what I encountered too. There's just what ...three per box? I just got unlucky and found all kinds of Fitness Girls first. XD

I got lucky and found most of them easily besides Godzilla. New box at TRU helped that out.

Don't forget TRU should have a BTGO free sale like they normally do.

???
Buy 2 get 1 free?

I saw Angler Attack at Walmart for 15.
Yep. Every year in September, like the third week, it's Geoffry's birthday and TRU has a B2G1 free sale.

Still a TRU tax on Lego sets?

I like the B2G1 sales, but I usually have a hard time finding a good discount based on their markups.

Darn Fred Meyer and having the 30% off, it's close enough to get sets I want without having to find 3 I really want for a B2G1.

As it relates to NEW sets (i.e. Spring and beyond), only Star Wars and Pirates of Caribbean currently have the tax.
Like they normally do? Or it's happening now. Or is that just speculation? You worded it oddly.
I don't work at TRU but they have had the same sale every year for the last decade. I see no reason why it would end now.

Amazon has the Kingdoms castle for $80, the police station for $85, the mobile police station for $38.50, LEGO Atlantis Angler Attack 7978 for $15, LEGO Space Jet-Copter Encounter 7067 for $33, and the two other big AC sets for $10 off, LEGO Pharaoh’s Quest Flying Mummy Attack 7307 is $16 with free shipping, LEGO Pharaoh's Quest Scorpion Pyramid 7327 is $85, LEGO Pharaoh?s Quest Cursed Cobra Statue 7325 is $23, LEGO Prince of Persia The Ostrich Race (7570)is $11, last chance to get the ostriches.

Next week Target will have Satellite Launch Pad and Prisoner Transport for $15, plus the obligatory additional Lego items on sale crap. I might get the Prisoner Transport, but I think I can score a better deal during the holidays.

I went on a little road trip south to check out a Borders. Along the way I stopped at this Walmart and I found something awesome and ...frustrating. In an aisle near toys there was a backroom/inventory kinda cart with Space Police HQ and Space Police Undercover Cruiser.

I scanned them both - full price. The cart was littered with red tags and clearance type stuff so I asked around.

Nope. Not going on clearance. Arrrrrgh. I love the Space Police stuff and I've been trying to grab it all at a good price. These are two of the I think - four sets I'm missing.

Borders was a complete bust for Lego but I did get several books I wanted.

Grab that SP HQ that's a rare set, getting rarer. It runs around $100 on Amazon re-sell right now. I have that--it's great, and those big blue, curved windows are exclusive to that set. (So are the cow-catcher pieces and the white/yellow garage door) Easily my favorite SP set.

I have the undercover cruiser on my trade list. If you're intersted, send me a PM.

Labor Day?

Thank you. I frankly have not purchased lego at TRU since the last B2G1.

I might get a few creator sets, those are difficult to get on sale.
the 5 dollar coupon wont stack with the tru lego 25 off 100...tried...no luck
You tried In-Store?

I have got this type of coupon to combo with sales in recent past.

Wal-Mart has Series 5 now. I grabbed a Snowboarder today. Still looking for an Evil Dwarf and then I'll be done.

tried in store...no dice

I'm guessing Costco is guess there Christmas stuff in, she called me and tole me that they had the Small Hogwarts for $39.99.

Just completed my Series 5. Walmart had four untouched boxes (endcapper display type tall boxes--haven't seen those before) open in a random toy aisle--NOT the lego section.

Was in a Lego store today and saw the Super Star Destroyer. Man that thing is nice looking but out of my price range.

I did pick up some cheap magnet sets and some of the prepackaged bags o' parts that had some interesting parts in them.

Are those loose prices on eBay for the regular Star Destroyer and Cafe Corner loose for real or am I missing something? Sheesh. I've got both sitting on my shelf and am very tempted to sell them both to get me a SSD amongst other things...

Completed my Series 5 today as well... bought 16, and only 16. Never ended up with a duplicate. The last one is always the hardest to get... which was the Evil Dwarf for me... but luckily I had some time today in Wal-Mart to feel them out.

Bring on Series 6!

$40 off $150, $25 off $100, and $10 off $50 at TRU right now. There's also free shipping and the free HP trolley if you spend more than $30.

Posted it in the Flea Market thread but found a total of 20+ pound of Lego at the flea market today for 27. There seem to be several complete/near complete (!!) sets in there like a couple Roboforce, an Exploriens set, the big UFO saucer and a Res Q helicopter. Only thing I'm interested in is the UFO set and the loose brick but if anyone is interested in any of the sets, I can probably cut you a deal.

I did see a NIB copy of a Knights Kingdom set (A jousting set I believe) but they wanted 30 and were going on about how it goes for 60 on ebay. I kept quiet of course but if you want ebay prices, I think you're in the wrong place. I felt like offering 10 but I thought it'd be a jerk move so I went on my merry way.

You might have wanted to buy that set for $30...

http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Knights-Kingdom-Royal-Joust/dp/B000046GX9

The cheapest is $60 on ebay, they weren't bullshitting you.

And definitely make a list of what sets you have. I might be interested in a few, and the helicopter depending on how complete it is and how badly damaged the hinge pieces are.

For those wondering, if you buy an item at 149.99 it covers for the $150. I ended up getting the Millenium Falcon today for 109.99. I figured 22% off is good enough for me.

Bigdaddy

As of now, here are the sets I've got

Robo-Stalker
Robo Raptor
Res Q Helicopter
Alien Avenger (not complete, ugh but pretty close)
Exploriens Nebula Outpost

They all seem to be missing a few pieces here or there. Hmm...well time to finish putting them together.

EDIT: I find I'm not a big fan of the Alien Avenger's build. Don't care much for the top being held on with magnets. They may be strong but eh. May just let this go for cheap too. Only UFO set I really loved was the X Wing Fighter. Such a fun set.

When i added it to my cart it only took off $25. tried with another set at $150 and also didnt work. guess you can always throw in a minifig in there to through it over that 1 fn penny.

It sucks that I can't get the polybag and the $40 off. I picked up the Tower Bridge for $212. That's not a bad discount. I would also like to pick up FB and GE, but that would clean out my Lego budget.

fucking hell...

TRU sale online is not working ... there is some kind of weird formula that they use.

QAR is not working as it should.

In-store it works for $40. That's where I bought mine.

My receipt looked like this...
Trolley 0.00
Falcon 109.99
after tax, appox 117.

Those are some nice sets. I think I still have most of the Raptor set, I know I still have the eyes.

And I think you mean the Warp Wing set... :booty:

http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=6915-1

That set is one of the coolest designs LEGO has ever done and I was hoping we would get another alien ship like that sometime with all the new slope pieces.

Week of 9/18 ;)

Yea I meant the Warp Wing Fighter...it just reminds me of the X-Wing...opps. And yes it's a great design for a ship. Both it and the Unitron ship are ones I really really love. Both are sets I will have no interest in getting rid of.

Oh yea, if you want to see any pics of the other sets, CML.

Anyone else have the issue of buying old Lego and finding they're pretty grimy? I was going through the large bucket of Lego I bought recently and had to constantly go back to wash my hands. I don't really feel like washing it but bleh! I almost feel like just selling it off and buying cleaner pieces in bulk off Bricklink with the money I get from that!

All the second-hand lego I've purchased has been pretty clean; dusty maybe. For that, I've just let it soak in a bucket of water/soap swishing it around a few times over the course of a few hours, then rinsing/drying every piece (PAIN IN THE ASS, but I hate water spots as much as dirt).

Depending on how dirty your stuff is, you might need to actually scrub it to get it clean.

I bought a big bag of random parts over the weekend that were very dusty with a bad smell to them. Frustrated with the smell after awhile, I decided to put them in a pillow case and throw them in the washing machine on delicate. Worked VERY well!

That's not a bad idea, you can take it even further and get some polishing beads that wont damage the LEGO or washing machine at that and make them come out really fresh.
