I bought a big bag of random parts over the weekend that were very dusty with a bad smell to them. Frustrated with the smell after awhile, I decided to put them in a pillow case and throw them in the washing machine on delicate. Worked VERY well!
I've soaked them in a bleach solution - kill all those mouth germs.

Just got my Millennium Falcon in the mail. The box is completely crushed. It actually has a rip through the middle. Going to take it back and hopefully exchange it for a new one. This better be an easy process. Well, I replaced the set but they charged me an additional $1.8 for some bs reason. I started to argue but I figured I drove up here so I am not leaving empty handed. WTF!

I got the last 2 minifigures today. Spent a good 1/2 hour feeling the bags in Target. A kid actually came by and his dad said he could pick 5 and that he should pick from different pegs so hopefully he would not get a double. The kid was trying to feel to make sure he did not feel the same things in each bag so hopefully he would get different ones. Never saw a kid look at these before while I was in the store from any of the 5 series that I have gotten. I asked if he was looking a specific one but he said he just wanted different ones. I got the graduate and the surfer to finish my collection. I really would like to display all the series in a nice way!

gotta be the good ol' govt....sales tax....you must have a lower sales tax at your address vs where the TRU store was located

At my store, we just got in a new mini figure display case. It holds exactly 16 figures(2 rows of 8). The cases are hard plastic and are stackable. They are $22.99. I was going to take a picture but didn't have enough time to.
ToysRus? Sounds expensive, I'd rather not spend so much.http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=50685 They look nice though.
In that thread that Mickeyp posted I think this case is classy enough to display say not in a toy room.

http://www.containerstore.com/shop/collections/display/cubesCases?productId=10022884&N=233

I'd almost want the minifigure case that they had, but it only went to 15.

I would think that they could get a more compact case than what Lego is coming up with.

That's what I've been using. There's a Container Store right across the lot from the Cincinnati Lego Store, so anytime I trek down there I pick one up. They look really nice, just have to be careful if you move it so that the figs inside don't slide all over the place.

On that subject here's the full Series 6 in case you haven't seen it.

The previous leaked pics had the Alien on the Toy Robot's body, and the Statue of Liberty's dress is now on the right way.
In-store it works for $40. That's where I bought mine.

My receipt looked like this...
Trolley 0.00
Falcon 109.99
after tax, appox 117.
Just got back from the store and can confirm that the 20% off Rewards cpn stacks on top of the $40 off promo. I got the Mil. Falcon for 87.99

Wasn't even planning on buying it. Went in to use the Rewards cpn on a Kreo set; saw the Falcon and figured I'd price-check it and it came up at 109.99

Took it up with the Kreo set. The register automatically took the 20% off the Falcon. Total for both was 116.xx

Man I'd like to punch whoever came up with Mario and Transformer building blocks. I was able to avoid this whole thing up until now... Stupid minifigs... Aargh!

Here's a big LOL for y'all:
I went to TRU today to get a few things and the free HP trolley, and they gave me a free bonus eco-friendly shopping bag as well. The shopping bag has a collage of graphics/artwork/advertisements from the early days of TRU, back when it was subtitled "The Children's Bargain Town" and "The Children's Discount Supermarket". On one image, a newspaper ad dated November 19, 1967, It states their "NO" policies:
-NO..."One Day Only" or "Special Sales"
-NO..."Limited Quantities"_"One To A Customer" or "50" Pieces Only (not sure what that last part means)
-NO...Bags, Giftwrap, Charge Accounts, Layaway, Contests, Stamps or Delivery
-NO..."Mail Order" Disappointments
And finally, there is another image stating: "Nothing ever sold at list price"
(No shit - they mark it up higher instead! )
My my my how the times change, TRU!

Ah poop. Wish i would have tried that.

TRU now has a BOGO half off sale going on as well but it is not cooperating with the $40 off purchase discount.

Has anyone tried stacking these (B1G1 50% & the $10/$25/$40 off) in store?

I am curious because it has been reported that the 20% coupon did stack yesterday.

Only one works, the register will automatically give you the bigger discount. The sale signs in store actually say B1G1 50% OR $10/25/40 off.
anyone have the latest BN kids coupon?

have a piss poor selection at my only local store

thanks
I have been hoping someone gets this, because I have used up all of my various email addresses getting codes. I have 2 of those $20 certificates from their HP fiasco burning a hole in my pocket.

Added Fire Brigade and Emporium to my cart then when I already checked out I was informed that the Fire Brigade was unavailable but my order, just for the Emporium at this point, went through. What a joke, but at least TRU lets you cancel.

Now I'm debating getting the Excavator and Unimog since I never had one of the flagship Technic sets, but at over $300 I'm not sure if it's worth it especially since I'm a bit too old now to get the most out of the sets.

Do you guys think the Star Wars (30% off all Star Wars Toys, including Legos) will be online as well? I want to get the Imperial Shuttle, but there is nothing similarly priced I want to take advantage of the BOGO 50% promotion. My local stores don't carry the shuttle, so I would need to order it.

The sale is "up to" 30% off, so I doubt that ship will be more than 10% off. Just get the set off of ebay. It pops up once and awhile for $200 with free shipping. That is how I got mine.

Since you guys keep asking for it...here it is.

http://images.barnesandnoble.com/pimages/email/2010/10/KidsClub/1025_KidsClub_Welcome520751.gif

I have tried using it online and most sets that even say that they are kid's club eligible still don't work. Had no trouble using it in store to buy the Robie House.
Haven't noticed but do Legos have an additional markup at B&N or are they MSRP.
MSRP

but mine has really no selection, they still have first run Atlantis sets

It looks like you can go through the catalogue by changing the last 2 numbers. It starts at 062.

Edit: new white x-wing. It doesn't look like it's worth an upgrade from 6212.

Spotted S5 at Walmart today and plenty of clearance but the prices sucked. Turbo Tank was still 90, Slave I for 60, Angler Attack for 15, and Droid Tri Fighter had a clearance sticker slapped on it for MSRP.

Dinos are nice, but it seems like it pairs up with World racers type vehicles.

I don't know if I'm into that just yet.

I am liking where Ninjago is going, new snakes, new minifigs that are snakes/cobras, kendo armor... fantastic.

The only bad thing is it's like jets/copters and a freaking boat. I guess the temple building was in year 1. Bad thing is I'm not liking the ninjas vs giant vehicles of destruction. It's going to suck to get the figures. But I'm really liking the boat.

Friends is bringing back the 4+ minifig... lol. But seems like they have ALOT of sets. I guess with Bellville meeting its end, something needs to replace it.

Creator has a good mix but it's the same thing.... Curious no new buildings in that line, the lighthouse and cabin might be it...?

Not much for SW, kinda strange.

I like the forest Fire sets but they still went with red, I would have thought they would have varied up the color some.

I'm on my iPod so I can't see everything yet but Police and fire are lame. The city camper thing is nice but the car is too small.

What the hell is NinjaGo doing? It was insane before but now looks like power rangers.

The Dino sets are OK, I was hoping for more buildings, not a huge fan of so much yellow.

Creator is getting a summer house so the buildings aren't ending, we just don't have the pictures yet.

And Friends is like Jack Stone meets Play Mobile. Could have been great with real figures.

Page 75 has a Brick separater in orange.

Page 79 has a new Racer theme with minifigures that looks like something from the late 90s.

I love the bear that comes with the new Lego City Forest Police set... must own. The Dino Sets look cool, but I agree about too much yellow. And yes, they need some sort of building in the Dino line.

Friends looks good, except for the figures. I'd be interested in getting a couple of them for the pieces if they came with standard minifigs.
Lego Police came by and had Bricklink pull them. Links are all dead.
I have them saved to my iPod. Ill see if I can make a new flickr up to post them.

Honestly you didn't miss much. Big disappointment January is.

The biggest thing I took away from the pictures was new Tie Fighter and new semi-decent battle packs. Then again, since you hate Star Wars Lego, I suppose it would be disappointing.

The only thing that interests me with the Dinosaur sets are the 2 that have raptors. It looked like both of those sets were under $20 so that's probably all I'll be picking up from the dinos line.
The Friends Cafe set is awesome, better than any Town / City building in years.
Friends has some very nice buildings... shame they had to go and shit on everything with those ridiculous figures. There are so many good female minifigs out now, that TLG has no excuse for wasting everyone's time with these new designs.

I'm pretty excited for the new Escape Pod set in the Star Wars line; Stormtroopers (which may/may not have actual weathering) are so damn hard to get at a reasonable price, and the build itself doesn't look too bad. The Endor battlepack might be nice too. And Jek fucking Porkins: love it.
There is a DINO base that has a fort.

The guns also have a holder for syringes, which is awesome.

The police station has "brick" bricks on the bottom of it.

The Friends Cafe set is awesome, better than any Town / City building in years. Also comes with the pie from the clown in series 5.

Some 2012 pictures...

Volkswagen T1 Camper Van

I was browsing uncrate.com and saw this. It comes out October 1st and this is a must have for me! I have never been much of a lego fan but this would look awesome on my new shelf, even at $120 I honestly don't mind.

That's how cool I think this is.

Overall, 2012 looks good for me. My son loves City so the camper trailer, SUV with motorcycle trailer, recycling truck and forest fire will be a huge hit with him. Don’t care for SW.

Friends looks good too. Finally something decent for my daughter! I remember when LEGO's executive VP for markets and products, Mads Nipper, came to BBTB 2010 he mentioned the end of Belville and that they would move on to a new line of products for girls. He admitted the TLG failed in providing great products for girls and that they had invested a good amount of money towards R&D for the new line. I would have liked to see the actual minifig size, but Mads noted that after their research and survey about the girls sets, they found that girls actually liked the bigger sized figures than the actual minifigures. That’s why they went ahead with the bigger figures.

Probably very YMMV, but I hit up a Target today and all Harry Potter, Pharaoh's Quest and Pirates OTC sets were clearanced to 30% off.

There was one Queen Anne left.....picked her up for $83.

Maybe I'm just sexist, but I've never understood why regular Lego "isn't for girls." I guess if Lego puts so much time and energy into a separate line, that must be the case, but my niece enjoys good ol' Lego just fine. (Yes I know one girl doesn't make a worldwide trend).

Anyway, I saw the newer Ninja polybag set at Target by the registers. It's the one with the white Ninja and helicopter made of gold troll swords.

[]
The problem with that is they aren't that much bigger, they still fit through a normal sized door.

Are they like the Toy Story figures then? They aren't much bigger, but the heads definitely allow for a lot more detail, which is what I assume they are going for.

Still wish they had normal sized ones though
