LEGO Deals 3

Rolling the dice on maybe getting the Home Alone set when the coffee cart promo starts next week. If I’m being honest, I’ve kind of lost some of my hype around the set because it looks nice but the features are tied into the movie and it looks more like a doll house than a more adult-centric modular set. I mean … it’s LEGO so it’s kid-centric to begin with … but I may just cross my fingers and hold out for the new modular in January.

I’ve also been feeling like I need to cut back on LEGO in general, given storage issues … oh and I really hope the AT AT doesn’t look appealing to me … $800 … but what if it’s awesome
If you are tight on space...feel free to start having them shipped to my house. I should have enough space to keep you going for a while at least

The only promo when I bought it last night was that ugly ass flying car. Whatever. My kids love Home Alone, so I'm sure building the set will be fun.

Onto the rumor mill… LEGO at-at said to be $700 6782 pieces, LEGO 75313 may be reveled next week on the 9th.

If you didn’t get your chance the first time a new hulk buster is coming out in 2022, I could speculate that this may be a Bruce banner controlled Hulk Buster.

Sweet … I always wanted to get the Hulk Buster but the timing never worked out. Hope the helmet looks cool and isn’t just one ugly bubble piece like on the smaller builds.

And yeah, that flying car give away partially contributed to me not buying the Home Alone set online last night. It was so ugly that I was repulsed by it. If I want to see horrific LEGO builds, I’ll have a kid 😜

I'm always tempted to repaint that specific Hulkbuster as a Battletech Atlas.

People on Reddit vouch for it. One said it’s owned by Kroger. I didn’t do my own research though. I kind of went overboard already on the creator castle at Costco

Found a Shang Chi polybag at target earlier today, hadn’t seen it before so I grabbed a couple
I found a few as well a week or so back, glad I didn’t overspend on LEGO.

I saw these photos on instagram and thought they were fake but found them on multiple leak sites.

I thought the whole thing was that, for $800, it was supposed to be motorized and walk … eh, I mean it looks very similar to the smaller ones, not that impressed. Also talked myself out of the home alone set, so my wallet is significantly safer until 2022. Grabbing the coffee cart though …

I'm trying to think what Green Giant would say about the ATAT. Hmmmm:

Wow, Lego- A 1000 dollar set with tons of empty seats but only 5 snow troopers? They can't wait to sell you those battle packs. Just what we need- more boxes of 8000 grey pieces.

Shame there weren’t more LEGO options (or much of anything really) in this first round … hopefully the drop next week will have better deals (might grab that Hagrid set).

Picked one up and some Pokémon cards, easier catching COVID than getting Pokémon cards.

I guess titanic pre-orders sold out, LEGO trying to create some fomo?!?

In case people look in Walmart for box o bricks, mine is putting 11016 under the $29 signs. They are that price but have 300 fewer pieces than 11011. They also still have the 1500 piece box with the four large plates for $40.

I hadn’t realized this, but Lego does a nice job of varying the pieces so each box compliments the other as far as colors and sizes, so it’s not a lot of duplication if you buy a different box every year.

I also saw the 3-in-1 Star Wars box in store for $50. Ok deal if you don’t have them since they’re retiring but hoping for better deals down the road.

As far as FOMO, I’ve been battling that as I watch retiring sets switch from “temporarily out of stock” to “sold out” on Lego.com. One thing that helps is the site’s wishlist now includes a total $ amount, so I can realize how unrealistically expensive my wishes are.

I’m the opposite, I keep checking on Corner Garage, hoping it goes out of stock so I can justify my purchase … but the thing just seems to stick around, both online and in-store … can’t win 😉

I love vignettes and wish Lego didn’t stop doing the seasonal ones, but the ice festival set doesn’t wow me considering how much it’ll likely cost. I’d like more building and less landscaping

Is that penguin new in the Chinese New Year set? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a minifigure scale penguin … may need to grab that set just for that!

Anyone know where to get some replacement lego rope/string? The heavy stuff from the 90s sets is what I am after. It does not have to be official lego; I am just not sure what type or cordage to search for...I recall it being a thuck synthetic material unlike the thin cotton thread I find in current sets.

I Googled for that same question last week about replacement string but haven’t tried any of the answers yet.

There was one in series 16 CMF, plus it was in the store build-a-minifig last year so someone with store hookup probably has hundreds on Bricklink. There’s also an “evil” version with red eyes from a Batman set

Not many eligible items left at my Targets but those polybags are a nice way of getting to $50 for $10 gift card. I also finally found the Super Mario promo bag you mentioned and that qualifies toward promo.

Bricklink round 2 preorders open up tomorrow: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/introducing.page

The first 5 to reach 3,000 pre-orders will be produced. Can't tell if pre-orders are capped to 3,000.

Fortunately none of them interest me because I can't afford them right now

Mountain Windmill $180
Modular Lego Store $180
Science Adventures $36
Seasons in Time Calendar $250
Retro Bowling Alley $230
Ruined House $300
Clockwork Aquarium $65
Quest Builder $260
Venetian Houses $290

Third-party, for the squeemish

My 3 early Black Friday sets came from Walmart individually in plastic mailers with no padding. I don't care because I'm opening them, but I've noticed this season that shipping packaging is all over the place. Target sent me two sets in a box literally 4x the size necessary along with 1 lone bubble.

Anyone have the Technic Mobile Crane set 42108? It looks like it may have the thicker string I am searching for...anyone open this set able to confirm? Can I order the part number from Lego since it is a current set?
