My 2 Orders from TRU have were shipped yesterday, no cancellations. They will take a few weeks to arrive, but they say they are coming.

I stopped in a TRU retail store yesterday on my way home from work to check out their stock. It is true, collectible minifigs are now priced at $4.99!!! Needless to say, the 2 boxes they put out looked completely untouched! Congratulations, TRU - you finally figured out a way to keep these in stock longer than a day! LOL!
They were also giving $20+ LEGO buyers ANY minifigure magnet they wanted - they had all 4 in a big box (I asked out of curiosity). So much for the rules...

Anybody interested in 20 minifigures from series 2 before I return them to TRU? I am in Long Island. They are $2.99, all different ones available. Otherwise bringing them back tomorrow. I have one set for myself, thought of making a second set but don't want to spend the $, so bringing them back.

I wanted to buy the medieval village but it went out of stock even while in my cart. Oh well, I saved $ by not buying it. I want to get my son something from the star wars line and don't know what to pick for him, he likes them all.

The walking at-at is real nice, as is the slave 1. I collect most of the original series and a few of the Clone Wars sets.
It's retail price is $20, so Walmart is 25% off with that "rollback" price. Even a TRU BOGO50%off would be the same as a straight 25% off deal. Barring a clearance (not likely since its rather new), $15 is the cheapest you'll see it.
Thanks..guess i'll have to get it before it goes back up Earle

Already spent way too much on LEGO...but the 20% off is pretty nice.

Also, I fear that the TRU stores that are letting folks choose which magnet they want will probably run out way before the end of Bricktober. I hope my tru is following the schedule, I planned on getting a new one each week.

Received my order today surprisingly fast but the minifig got shipped separately.

When I went to Wal-Mart the other day I noticed some of the sets some of you had mentioned being moved but I also saw Lukes Land Speeder, Space Police Limosine, Lego City Jet Liner (Blue) and that is all I remember off the top of my head.

Whoah - I just noticed I have $65.00 in VIP Shop@Home Rewards! I didn't even realize I had accumulated that much this year. I was thinking, maybe to buy the Death Star for $65.00 off this month, but then will I still earn the October Double VIP points on the purchase? Because that would be another 670 points (aka another $30 in rewards for use later, perhaps on Diagon Alley ;) ). Can you earn VIP points if you are also using older points in the same transaction?

Does anybody have and recommend Clone Turbo Tank 8098 or Emperor Palpatine’s Shuttle?

IIRC you will earn the points on the cash you spend and not the points you spend, so you would earn 335x2 points=670 if you bought it this month.

My first post! -- had to thank cutiepatootie for the TRU code, and zepp-head for the heads-up re: Grand Emporium -- thanks! Snagged several SW sets (+ nerf) for my children's upcoming birthdays & holidays, and the GE & police HQ for myself :) Now hoping that the Green Grocer comes back in stock...

@mickeyp: my sons (7 & 9) and their friends loved building and playing with the turbo tank #8098-- has several compartments and is fairly robust. The sale + coupon make the price unbeatable -- we bought it a week ago and missed the deal.

Welcome!
Buy another one and return the new one with the old receipt ;)

Bar codes wouldn't match up.

Thanks for the opinion.

What do you mean? They all have the same UPC number no matter where you buy the set.

I like your thinking! :) but it was from Amazon.

Well, if you ordered it cheap online you could take it back to the store to get a refund for the old price.

There's a new "In Store" TRU rewards coupon being emailed: 20% off any one item valid from 10/8-10/11, so it can be used in conjunction with 2 of the LEGO sale days. It doesn't exclude clearance either, and clearance toys are currently an additional 25% off at TRU. So for example, if you can still find a Farm, Twilight, or Home One in store, using the coupon you could get around 45% off their clearance prices. Not too shabby...

There are actually 2 different coupons being mailed out. Hopefully you're not one of the ones that get the $3.00 off any purchase coupon.

Isn't there Also a $10 Geoffrey Bucks coupon in Sundays paper... Maybe you can stack them? I'm not sure when the coupon expiry date is...

Are the coupons at random ? or sent to everyone?

Haven't got jack squat......

TRU shipped my order...two different sets and the free minifig in three different shipments? And they all came from Parsippany, NJ. The minifig was shipped by UPS Mail Innovations...that takes forever.

These might be random. I didn't get anything this time either.

Anyone use the new 20% coupon at TRU in addition to the current sale? ?It says its only for regular price items, but I believe the last coupon said the same thing and I had no problem using 5 off and getting 30% off. Itd make the Space Police HQ something like $48 bucks I believe

Also, there is another Borders 40% coupon for this weekend floating around.

I'm trying to figure out TRU's marketing strategy by sending their customers different coupons on a regular basis ... way to endear people to your company when people are getting 20% off coupons and you end up with $3 off. Pure genius TRU ...
This is when you just ignore the shithole, aka TRU.
I try everyday I work. Some days are more successful than others.

I'm glad everyone else is getting them on a "regular basis" as I've only been averaging getting 1 in 4 of the ones that people report on here.

nothing again.. sucks...really does.

Are these coupons unique? or could anyone use them? I suppose if they matched your Rewards card... but unsure.

Yeah, I should clarify when I used to term "regular basis" I was assuming for others that was the case, since I've actually only received the $3 off coupon recently. For awhile I was getting all kinds of stuff like coupons in the mail, rewards certificates, etc. Then it suddenly just all dropped off from TRU and now I just read about the deals they evidently send other people.

Eh, I suppose it's still better than Best Buy's strategy of sending out the same 10% off coupon over and over again and telling people they're having an amazing sale.

Almost bit on the new Harry Potter train set today using the 20% off coupon on TRU.com but couldn't pull the trigger. Just wish the train had more detailed, Emerald Night spoiled me. Anyone else find the new HP sets "almost there" as far as being worth buying but just not quite good enough?

My one email got the 20% off coupon. The other one got nothing. Received the rest of my packages from TRU yesterday. 2-3 days is pretty good for free shipping, especially compared to Amazons free shipping.

The coupons are a one-time use only, so if you know anyone who didn't use theirs, they could send it to you and you could print it and use it in the store.

That happened to me too, then in the last month I started getting stuff in my mail and email again. Weird. Maybe because I've been buying alot from there recently? Perhaps they only send the good coupons to their best customers - who knows?

I picked up the clone wars Turbo Tank for my son for the holidays today.
They gave me the week #2 retro minifigure magnet. They said they were out of week 1( I called 3 different TRU and they said they were all out. I thought I was going to get nothing so I was very happy to get week #2 minifigure. I used the coupon spend $75 get the $10 gc. So it made it a little cheaper, not as good as the 20% of online but TRU.com was sold out and in order to get free shipping I would have had to buy more to make it up to $100. So I hope my son is happy with it.

We started to build a Toy Story 3 set today- the Garbage Truck Getaway. We 2 bags and we will do the rest later, we had to stop to watch the Yankees!

Did the Power Miners Cave Crusher go on sale at Target.com? It was a LEGO and Target exclusive and sold out from Shop@Home a long time ago, and was also clearanced out in Target stores. However, it was still available online at Target.com. The last time I checked was Friday afternoon. I've been keeping my eye on it, hoping for an online clearance. Today I checked again and it doesn't show up on search anymore. Usually if something sells out, it will stay on the site as "out of stock" for awhile, but this has been completely removed. Bummer. #-o
