Let Us Lament On Long Past Dead Sodas

I wonder if they made crystal pepsi today would it taste as good as I remember.

I tried that obritz stuff back in the day. Much like in the article said it was "that drink with the balls in it." it was thick and nasty.
There's a disgusting lack of Citra on that list.

Citra was, hands down, the best soda ever, and even managed to make me forget Surge.
What the fuck is/was Citra?

crystal pepsi was so great....i live in the midwest where they didnt actually release it but i traveled to colorado during their test market. two weeks of bliss (or so i remember....i was like 10 at the time)

Ah a fellow fan on XE.

I read this article the other day. The oly one I remember ever trying was Crystal Pepsi. Thanks all the same, but I likes my Pepsi the color of tar.

Wow, I clearly remember drinking half of those drinks, don't remember what most of them tasted like though. I guess that's for the better.

When I first tasted Pepsi Blue I hated it, just was way too strong. Later on I tried it with a ton of ice and loved it, ironically by then it was on its way out, stockpiled what I could and drunk it for the next year or so.

That list does not contain Josta, which is the greatest liquid to ever be created by mankind. They stopped making it in early 1998, so I stocked up. I saved my last can of it to drink at graduation in 2000. It was awesome.

Mark another one down for Crystal Pepsi, that stuff was just so intense. However more than that, I miss Dr. Slice, that was like a fucking flavor orgasm.
Ah. I'm a Squirt man myself. Or at least I used to be.
In Athens GA there's a restaurant called Five Star Day that still sells Squirt in glass bottles.

Also in atlanta about two years ago Coke tried out a peach flavors Mello Yello called Afterglow
that was the bomb, which is now discontinued.
I've mentioned it a few times in other threads, but does anyone else remember Pepsi Kona? Coffee flavored Pepsi.
No but now that I think about it I expect Coke Blak to join the list soon, man is that stuff terrible

Staying in a hotel once traveling south, I remembered spotting Coke's version of Mountain Dew? Called Mellow-Yellow? Don't know if that was a limited edition release (like LimeWire), but we don't get that shit in the North-East.

Mellow Yellow was the big thing growing up in South Dakota, nobody drank Dew, Mountain Dew seemed second rate at the time just like Pepsi did. It was weird when they stopped making it, because Coke and Mellow Yellow were the 2 big things. (I was addicted to Dr. Pepper, but I haven't drank pop for over 10 years)

I remember liking Crystal Pepsi. At the time, I rarely drank pop (I'd get 6 slurpees from 7/11 a week though), though that was the one pop that I would buy. I really can't remember the taste though.

Do they still make Mountain Dew Code Red? They don't carry it at my gas station anymore. I don't know if it's dead or if they stopped carrying it.

I have a hard time finding it too but I did find it at kroger in 2 liter bottles.

Fresca was a great grapefruity soda, though it's been practically impossible to find anymore for me... I know about a year ago they rolled out different flavors of it (black cherry, peach, some others) which were god awful, so maybe they just gave up on the brand altogether... No idea if it was the same as citra in the beginning, but the mentions of it reminded me of Fresca.

Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash, the recently departed, I quite miss, and hope they bring back for next xmas. I hate Sierra Mist, but man oh man, that Cranberry Splash was awesome.

Pepsi Blue was great. I remember loving crystal pepsi as well, but am unsure if I'd love it the way I did before because it's been so long.

Mt Dew Pitch Black, both the sour reincarnation and the original, although who knows if it'll come back on another halloween.

Jones has a ton of discontinued or hard to find ones I loved. Pink, Chocolate Fudge, the Cherry Pie one in last year's dessert pack, Candy Corn, Caramel Apple (I've not tried Love Potion #6 but want to and it'll surely be in all the discount bins tomorrow at target and gone by Friday)...

pepsi blue and sprite remix were awesome!
...i didnt like vault, that shit'll give you diabetes, like 80grams of sugar per 20z bottle! yeesh! i never liked pepsi clear too..:(

Mountain Dew Baja Blast (only available at Taco Bell, dammit) needs to get a wide release. That stuff is GOOD.

Did Squirt get killed? The soda machine at my apartment complex still stocks it. I saw it get mentioned in this thread.

Everyone should try Pineapple Fanta. It's AMAZING.

??? WTF...Mello-Yello has been around since 1979 for crying out loud. You been living under a rock? It was briefly discontinued when Coke brought out Surge as a replacement, but they resumed after they killed off Surge. And I for one loved Surge. :(

Some stuff like Crystal Pepsi and Pepsi Blue...well, thank god they are gone since they tasted like ass.

also the author's love for Orbitz makes me question his sanity
Citra and Surge were great. Blue Pepsi was crap so was that red Dr. Pepper.
Screw you, Pepsi Blue was God in a fuckin' bottle. ;)

Red Fusion?? Red Fusion Dr. Pepper was legendary. Still is now that it's known as Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper.

It reminded me of red fruit roll ups. But liquid.

I still have a few cases at my brother in law's place, he works for pepsi so he gets discounts and brings home casefuls upon casefuls, but it's slowly dissapearing from local stores.
What about OK soda? That stuff talked to you.
OK was pretty good. My friend Peter went through a lot of stuff.
