Letterman admits relationships with employees

Letterman still isn't the stud that Bob Barker was. :)

What I don't understand is why don't these people just go ahead and write the book. They'd still get their money, but legally. I guess they're too lazy and figure extortion is easy money.
 
Can't say I'm surprised. People with power abuse that power and celebrities are especially bad. Wesley Snipes only failed to get away with it because he screwed over the US Government. Meanwhile, OJ and Robert Blake got away with murder and Michael Jackson touched little boys for almost 2 decades.

Michael Bay and Megan Fox were no doubt humping in between scene filming, but that's clearly gone sour.
 
Wait a minute. If he truly abused power, they could've gone to the authorities and had him charged with rape. Instead, they cooked up a million dollar extortion scheme to get some cash. Yeah, they're really victims.

Consensual sex does happen even if it's between a boss and an employee. The aftermath might be messy but it doesn't mean that he abused his power to stage orgies at the studio.

As far as I know, these girls weren't drugged or coerced so it's not a story.
 
Instead of trying to extort Letterman, they should have sold the story to Palin. Then, Palin could call up Letterman's people and offer to come on the show.

I would have loved to have watched that show - and I don't care for Palin or Letterman. ;)
 
What's wrong with Letterman? He's an old dude from Indiana that tells jokes. It's not like he's trying to force health care reform on you.
 
I like that he was upfront about it right on his show. That gives me more respect for him than I had before, even though he committed the affairs in the first place.
 
Has it been revealed they took place during the time he was with his girlfriend-now-wife? If they were before he was with her it's not a big deal at all.

Like the OP, Letterman and Ferguson are my favorite talk show hosts on television.
 
Letterman hasn't been trumpeting about family values and forcing Americans to subscribe to his particular version of morality so I'm OK with it.

It's different when a conservative politician commits affairs. And yes, I'm singling out conservatives because they seem to be so worried about America's moral compass while they cheat on their wives and pay for mistresses abortions.
 
David Letterman should not be the big story here.

Halderman was not only involved in hack "48 Hours Mystery". At various times in his career he worked for CBS or CNN news on serious pieces. How many stories did he bury, heck how many innocents has he framed? We may never know the full extent.

Just another example of how modern media is nothing more then an arm of big business and the mob, more then willing sell their integrity to the highest bidder. If that wasn't bad enough, you have clowns like Halderman shopping his around town.

True, but if someone is willing to stoop to extortion what other tricks might they play. The way Olbermann tells it, this guy was an inveterate liar and manipulator going all the way back to his days at CNN.
 
If you have a girlfriend/wife and you fuck around without consent (some people have open relationships and that is their prerogative), it's a dick move (pun intended). It doesn't matter if you are a conservative preaching family values or not. It's the highest form of disrespect you can pay to someone.

That being said, extortion is a dick move too.
 
It's a dick move but nothing that we should be concerned about. It's his private business and he hasn't made it his business to legislate what goes on in our bedroom. As long as he wasn't banging underage kids or non-consenting adults, I'm OK with it.

It's something for his wife to deal with. She can file for divorce or try to reconcile but that's for her to decide.
 
I sure hope he gave equal opportunity to all his girlfriends. Wouldn't want him to be discriminating against one race or sex or bra size of his partners. Just think, the pages he DIDN'T sleep with could have legal recourse as to NOT getting to suck Dave's dick.
