I stay away from anything Kemco. Everything they do seems to be average at best nowadays. They pump out RPGs like nobody's business. Well...except theirs.

I tried it out at PAX and kinda liked it so I may grab that. Wish it was for the Vita instead though.

My Windjammers are stuck in postal hell, still. At what point should I open a ticket with Limited Run?

The last update to the tracking number was February 1st.

I would start at the source, and go with LRG first. If the package is in your town, and sitting someplace locally, trying UPS may be worth it, but otherwise, it's LRG problem. They shipped it, and if it doesn't arrive for whatever reason, it's their issue to solve.

 
So Fallen Legion has been delayed from next week it would seem, and now next Friday will have no new LRG releases.  2/23 will be quite busy though as that now stands as:

I agree 100%, and that is why I didn't order a single box, let alone more than one. As any qty over one, could have ended up this same way, as this is a "text book" example of what "blind" boxes means.

I'm just extra annoyed with this because out of all the games to get lost, it had to be the one I've wanted the most since Wonder Boy AND the one I also bought for a friend. :/

Reminds me of my son. He picks up "Tiny Tonka' blind boxes from Target. We got 6 of them. 5 of them were firetrucks. After a ten minute cry-fest I had to explain to him thats what blind boxes are and next time he should get Hot Wheels where he can see the product. He understood after that and tries to get products that he can see.

Blind boxes are blind. They are such a great way for these companies to get impulse buys and repeated purchases. Just not worth it unless you have ZERO from them.

Exactly. The only time you should be buying blind boxes is when you want to build a collection from scratch. It's a good way to get old releases if you've never bought from LRG before. Why anyone would gamble on blind boxes otherwise is beyond me. Chances are you aren't going to get the one or two games that you really want, and if you do get one you wanted you just wasted money on other games that you probably didn't want.

 
lol, SO buys Unicorno blindboxes all the time. The number of times we've bought 2 and gotten the same one is crazy high. She trades it with a co-worker that happens to also collect them, so it ends up working out well. But we got like 3 in a row of one one time.

Go buy a lottery ticket or something. That's either really good luck or really bad luck.

What they fail to mention, is that by the time you've finished entering the code during your purchase, the game you wanted has sold out.

Edit: Oh wait, it expires in two days and the only games you'll be able to buy in that time is Home and Factotum. No worries of those selling out.

Just thought it was interesting...didn't someone post in here this very thread they don't do discounts? I would post my code since there is nothing I want at this time but not sure if they'd deem that kosher or not.

I try to not get drug into the glitz and glam of low print runs. But some of these items lately from PA/SLG with 500, 999, 1000, etc are kind of crazy. Like, I had two copies of UnEpic LE for both systems, and it was kind of crazy to think that there were only 498 other copies out there. It's a very smart tactic, as it makes a lot of these releases much more desirable than they otherwise would be. It's psychologically manipulative and not a very consumer friendly way of releasing games, if I'm honest, but a smart business move none-the-less.

But here's the thing - if they over produce and don't sell they lose money. They sit on unsold inventory which is tough to sell. They likely cap it at a specific number to protect their margins (i.e. we sell 400 out of 500 and we break even - the other 100 is pure profit). If they never sell up to 400 they lose on that title and hope to make it up in future titles.

Its such a gamble for them to even release these titles in physical format where a few bad release could cause them to close up. The blind boxes help sell through crap inventory no one would have bought in the first place by placing a few gems they have extra copies of (if you think they only made 500 out of 500 you're wrong. They make 10% extra to account for defects/returns/etc.)
