Remember folks, while you may think they are getting greedy, the truth is, those sega 32x and saturn games and vintage action figures aren't cheap.

I think it's astonishing that they don't release a greater number of relevant, pantheon titles than any of their competitors and imitators now. Maybe 2-3 per year.
As the sole publisher for THE RPG masters of the universe, I think they already have this aspect covered.

It is my own fault for buying blind boxes but man they really sucked.  The Bit Trip, operation osaka, mutant alien assault, alone with you, proteus.  Doesn't get much worse than that.  It might have been slightly better because I got some gold trading cards, but the way they packaged them in the boxes caused the edges to get all bent up.  Very bad design on the blind boxes as there was no good way to get the cards out without bending them to hell.  So anyway - this should make people who passed on blind boxes feel better... you likely didn't miss out on anything good.

At least you didn't get bomb chicken..... At least i wanted operation osaka...... but bloody bomb chicken....... i work in a casino, you'd think I'd know better than take a gamble.... ugh, freaking bomb chicken.

So, did nobody receive Papers, Please or Super Meat Boy for the Vita?  I mean, the odds they listed made that seem pretty likely and yet I haven't seen any confirmation that anyone got either of those.

None on eBay yet either, makes me question if they over-inflated the odds of getting one to entice set collectors to bite. Pretty much everyone who has posted so far got crappy games. With that said, people who got good ones wouldn’t be complaining so maybe that’s why we haven’t heard stories of someone getting something good.

I might consider it if they weren't so ridiculously expensive. $25 plus shipping for a tshirt that cost a buck or two to make? I kind of liked the long sleeve shirt design of last month, but no way was I paying $35 plus shipping for it.

I look at blind boxes the same way I look at scratch off lotto tickets. Somebody's got to win, but it probably won't be me.

Quiet in here today, guess nothing new this week? I'm just happy I got my Shantae Pax boxes. :D

I also opened my blind boxes. I was hoping for a good title.... got Hue Vita and Another World on Switch instead. Bleh. Hue has good reviews, just not a fan of puzzle games generally.

So I checked stock of the Shantae GBC early this morning and they had 900 copies of each loaded on the site, did they only sell 100 copies of each over all of PAX?

Na, I pretty much break even on scratch off tickets. Those are much better odds.
No one ever breaks even on kind of gambling. If they did then no one would bother making those tickets, or have any kind of gambling. There is a reason why that industry rakes in mountains of cash every year and that's because 99% of players lose.

Wouldn't be too surprising. I mean, at the end of the day, it's a box with a fake cart... not a great value. Only made for suckers like me. I think it was pretty similar with the Seven Sirens, they had a ton left and that one was more appealing since it was a new/unreleased game and a bigger nostalgia factor seeing it for the first time.

I got an email from LRG saying they had some PAX leftover for sale.  Let me get this straight, they are selling a BOX with a non functioning game for $29.99?  Really?  I don't understand why anyone would buy that...

*sigh* Yeah...

If it had official licensing and logos from/of Nintendo and the GBC, I can kind of see that, but it's plastered with LRG and doesn't compare in my opinion.

Nostalgia is expensive, suckers are cheap.

Finally got my Blind Boxes yesterday and got 2 repeats:
Turok 2 Seeds of Evil - Switch (repeat)
Deadbolt - Vita
One ways Heroics - PS4 (repeat)
Narcosis CE - PS4

The unreleased stuff is fetching a pretty hefty premium. Guess people just really want to be done with LRG.
I know i sure af do. I don't even have a problem with most of what they do, but damn do I hate my money being tied up for months at a time. Back when I could impulse buy stuff and have it in a week or two to fill gaps between retail games I bought way more often. Now I buy a game and forget what it even was months before I'm reminded with a shipping email. Makes it easy for me to pass.

They've gone downhill in a lot of ways. Production times, too many games, poor communication, etc. I could write several paragraphs, but I wouldn't really be contributing anything to the conversation that hasn't been rehashed on here before.

Anyhow, personally aside from Vita games the only reason I buy from them is that they seem to be the default for high-profile indie games like Night in the Woods or Celeste. I'd rather buy from one of the other companies like SRG, EAS (Play-Asia), SLG, hell even RedArt. All of those companies, despite their sporadic quality of releases, seem to operate much better and respect me as a consumer much more by sticking to timelines, pushing out updates, and having better release schedules. The fact that these smaller companies are so much better at the game LRG invented just makes me bitter and sad.

I'll at least say for them that they've been doing a solid job with their Switch games lately. Open preorders, good game selection, reasonable wait times (at least for the standard carts), retail availability...all good things. Although for the first time in years I have zero outstanding orders with them, so maybe my praise isn't worth a whole lot lol.

I just don't know that any of these other companies are beating them at their own game (yet). Special Reserve is the only one I can think of that's clearly outdoing LRG at this point, and they haven't put anything out for a few months now. Strictly Limited takes forever to ship their stuff. Super Rare ships fast, but imo has a weaker selection. Iam8bit only has a few options available. A couple others have folded already. They all have issues.

Of course, these other companies also do less dumb stuff than LRG, like rereleasing games that have already sold millions of copies, but that's a whole other issue.

Love the way they drop hundreds of bucks worth of shit days before release.

Special Reserve Games does have some long delays and there customer service is run by a bunch of a$$ holes

I am 8bit has almost year long delays and in one case lied to customers about special item that was supposed to come with gang beats when the game finally came out they edit the games page on there store and ignored customers asking about the item

Strictly Limited Games does have delays but at least they try to keep you more up to date with what is going on and tries to make it up to there customers

Red Art Games I have only ordered from them one time and the service was ok
