Oh Thank God, I got my Firewatch in. All I wanted.

I nearly had an anxiety attack at 10:01 this morning after refreshing the site since 9:58, adding it to my cart the second it went up, and still not having it go through.

Looks like this second batch is already sold out as well. Should have been 1 per person, business as usual. Wonder what really happened this time.

I feel for all you that didn't get through.

Seriously? There wasn't a limit of 1?

I couldn't get a single item this batch at either time period.
ya i just read that you could only get 1, i ordered my 2nd one in a seperate order, sent them a support to just cancel that.

managed to score the triple pack but missed out on firewatch, thought it would have been the other way around, but happy to not walk away empty handed.  thanks for another one LRG

You guys might want to keep trying till the inventory actually says zero.  Some have gotten lucky and  snagged one that just left some one else's cart.

There will be another opportunity to get Firewatch in January, just not from LRG (read the item description for details).  Don't pay crazy prices for it now because you missed out.

Just fyi about how many bundles were left in the second wave,

There were 100 triple packs put back up. We didn't have them up before because people have found ways to check out if it was previously in their cart before it was time to officially sell them.
Also, sounds like that weird bug from before is popping up again, which is why the bundle kept showing 0 before it got put back up again.

Managed to get both this morning, but for some reason I was under a rock and didn't notice the 3-pack bundle. Regardless of rarity, I would've loved to have gotten the blue variant cover just because it's the most aesthetically pleasing to me. Oh well, that's what I get for not paying attention. In the end having any copy of the game is what matters most I guess.

I like the new system where if it's in your cart, you secure it for a limited time. The way it should be for all retailers.

The worst BS in the world is when you hit "complete order" it says it's out of stock. AN INJUSTICE I TELL YOU!

It was in my cart and it secured nothing on both the AM and PM listings.

It shouldn't do that unless you've been sitting on the final checkout page for 5+ minutes. The games are reserved for you once you actually get in the checkout process.
I meant generally when trying to buy limited games from retailers. Not from LRG per se. That should never ever ever happen. Once it's in your cart, should be yours for a limited time.

I wasn't able to get Oddworld on either try. :\

I don't suppose any of you guys have an extra copy. I'd probably be willing to trade a sealed copy of Shantae: Risky's Revenge for it. I don't care which cover it is, but I do want the accompanying postcard and sticker. Would also be willing to buy one.

Likely won't have the Limited Run numbering though.
It's not a different release though, just a different quantity allocated to the other store for sale, so it'll be the exact same numbering system since it's the same release.

Tried to get the Triple Pack for too long and missed out on Stranger's Wrath altogether. If anyone wants to sell me one of their extra copies, feel free to shoot me a PM. I also have 1 of each Shantae game to trade.

Never had a problem getting these games but struck out on even with games with lower print runs. Oddworld Still said over 100 left, went straight to checkout and said OOS. I'm wondering if this is going to be a sign that these LRG games are going to be much harder to get in the future.

It said 350ish when I tried and was still OOS.

Kinda lame!  They only have 4,500 copies and tripples pack take  away from many peoples score 1 copies.  Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is high demand title they should do pre-order.  It's LRG they under estimated casual gamers sometimes.   Kinda disappointed because i did not get 1 either.  Still now big deal i save $30 :)

Only games i had a problem getting were Soldner and Oddworld Strangers Wrath today. Same thing as other people. Instantly add to cart, do payment, and boom sold out.

I went to go see Rogue One this morning.  Forgot all about the afternoon drop and missed out on Firewatch because I remembered 14min too late.

On the bright side, the movie was awesome.  It was a really good, serious, adult Star Wars movie.

Haha I went to a super late showing last night, and only got a few hours sleep before I woke up for LRG. Totally worth it.

LRG must have seriously reached a bunch of new customers this time around for things to sell out this fast.  It has been quite awhile since there was a sellout this quick.

Personally I think it was a mistake to release two high demand games on the same day. People who wanted one of the two titles probably snagged the other just because. Not to mention 2 copies per order and a triple pack as well, which allocates three copies of one game to a single person. Variant covers are nice and all, but seriously, you shouldn't be doing variants (or doing random variants fulfilled during shipping) if there's a >ten second window to order.

I thought Firewatch would be an easy score when I first heard of it (7200 copies) but I barely got one. I'm blaming you Vita collectors XD.

First time in a long time I've been disappointed with LRG and their handling of stock. I don't think this is a sign of things to come though, I think it was just two good games going up at once without proper order limits or quantities.

Seems like they handled everything pretty well to me.  I like to see sellouts in < 10 minutes, rather than have the games sit there and languish for a day or two.  If they started massively upping their run counts I would just stop buying them because there would be no immediacy to spend that money.  I'm glad that Doomstink seems to have a solid understanding of his business model.

If enough people complained and they started making larger runs, it might be time to get out.  There are already so many games to buy with multiple new titles dropping more often than once a month.  This quick sellout was merely a reflection of a couple of really strong titles; it won't usually be like this.

Weird people saying they got kicked out of their cart. I pounded F5, added it to my cart the second it went up, but when I got to payment information, naturally my phone rang, so I ran to the other side of the room to pick it up, and when I came back I finished typing in payment details and was able to complete order just fine.

So, I don't know. When you click add to cart, it puts you in queue. I don't know why it'd say that if yours wasn't reserved in your cart for only you for a limited time.

The qty's where probably decided awhile ago, and the developers have the biggest say in that, so I wouldn't really say LRG is at fault for the amounts made. Now the qty's per order is a different story, but you'll always have someone not happy, so it's the nature of the beast.

I've voiced this same opinion in the past, but considering their operation, I guess it's better for them to have multiple games released on the same day, so there can be some combined orders. I thought they could do one at 7am, and then the next at 8am or something to that effect, and even paying shipping twice, would be better than trying to get soundtracks, and games at one time(can be 4 different items at once). But I guess that would create tons of single orders, that would take months to ship, so I guess the way it is is probably best.

I learned my lesson with this early on, so now if two killer games are released the same day, I get my most wanted in the am, and then get the next in the pm. It cost an extra $5, but better than missing out on 1 in the morning, and no chance in hell of getting 2 in the pm. And I just stopped getting the soundtracks altogether, as I never listen to those anyway.

The same for PS4 games, I don't own a system yet, and once the releases started coming more often, I had to give up the PS4 games. I know I'll get a PS4 someday, and I would love some of these games physical, but I have to draw the line someplace.

That's good because TFA imo was an overhyped recycled film.

So....why didn't people like the monthly subscription idea? Seems like it would be helpful for completionists
Because this isn't lootcrate. The quality needs to remain high. Not just have the LRG team filling quotas each year, or every month. There's no benefit to the customer for blind buying things so I'm not sure why anyone would want this. Presently, people can pick and choose what they want and they also have two opportunities to buy. 90% of these drops have been beyond easy to score. They have the perfect system. I firmly believe that. These guys have a very good handle on what they are doing. It could only get worse.

Don't be shocked that Firewatch went that quickly, did a search for Firewatch on YouTube and both douchebags Markiplier and Pewdiepie did Let's Plays.

My recollection is that the majority of people that were polled at the time did like the subscription idea. There were a lot of logistical problems on the LRG side including the fact that they don't necessarily have a way to guarantee a certain amount of games per month and there were a lot of permutations of potential subscriptions (what if you only collect one platform or want two copies of each game, etc...) that made it much more difficult than an Indiebox style subscription.

Well, except you know being guaranteed a copy and not having to worry about scrambling every few weeks to buy something. There are a surprising number of us who buy every LRG release regardless of game, so it would be popular among the completionist collector crowd.

Yeah, I thought that subscription idea was ass from the start, and I had no plans to be a part of it if and when it would have started.

I don't know, Markiplier seems nice, and like a pleasant person to be around. I think that what most people (Non Youtube personalities) don't realize, is that if you were doing the same thing as them on a regular basis, and just recording that much of yourself over such a long period of time, you would probably look like a douche/jerk at some point as well. No one is immune to looking like an Ass/Douche/Jerk/Bitch or otherwise at least once in their life, so I honestly don't understand a lot of the hate that some of these people get.

Anyway, I wasn't aware of the fact that they had done Let's Plays of Firewatch, so maybe that did have a hand in them selling out as quickly as they did.

Yo, I started from 5 minutes before it went live... until 18 minutes after the hour... and I still couldn't get Oddworld. I watched the thing count down to zero man... I ended up getting Friewatch which I'm super stoked for. So frustrated. I tweeted them and I let them know how unhappy I was, even though it doesn't matter AT ALL to them. This is the worst way to be a customer... to not have any power at all.

Anyway, listed to my new chiptune podcast which I really REALLY enjoyed making. It calms me down... brings soo much joy

I ended up getting both titles at 6.  Avoided the three pack, don't want to support stupid ideas like that..  But I'm not a happy camper.

This morning I got hit with the bug.  I was hit with the sold out on Firewatch as soon as it went live. Literally I was sitting there 3 minutes before it went live clicking refresh and once it went live I added it to my cart and I got the inventory error sold out. It wasn't even 10:01. Then it wouldn't delete Firewatch from my cart to check out for Wrath. After like three minutes trying to fool around with Firewatch, I went to purchase Wrath. Then once I got to paypal for Wrath and checked out it said sold out for Wrath this was like at 1003AM.

I'm no stranger to how this works since I own every limited run title and have been doing the same thing for over a year, something changed with there cart system.

But I'm really not happy with the direction limited run games is going. I do not like variant covers especially on items costing $89. They could have easily had all three covers printed and sent with one game.  I'm not going to spend $60 dollars for covers on a purposely manufactured rarity.  I really wanted to have a complete U.S. vita collection, but this stupidity is what killed the comic book industry in the 90's.  Then I would bet most people who bought the three pack are going to sell two to try to get a free copy.  Great more scalpers. Thanks limited run.

Looks to me they favor scalpers over collectors. Then they really need to start with a  limit to one per title at the start.  It would help the collectors. They should limit it one per customer on the first day at  10 and 6.  And on the second day if any are left over sell people extra copies.  They are only helping the scalpers by giving them the option at the start to buy multiple copies.  I'm a gamer and a collector and I can't stand scalpers who ruin peoples hobbies.
