Little Big Planet - Gen. Discussion & Info
The level just ends without you getting to play any actual level.
Waste of time.
Huh? What you talking about?

I did get a review of "Short" maybe there is a bug somewhere... My level is pretty friggen long, its like 5-8 minutes.

I got the same problem as Autumn Star when I tried your level, level just ended when it loaded up.

Woah woah woah. Wtf.

You guys are right. What the shit... I republished it, that could be the problem. Damnit.

*ugh weird... I went into edit mode and it looked like it was played through already, all the triggers were set and the boss was dead. Stupid ass beta. I always run into problems publishing it, every time it says "There was a problem publishing your level" than I do it again and it works.

Well I put it up again, sorry about that guys =( Hopefully it works now.

It should work this time; I am not going to play through it because I think thats what screwed it up. I played through it after publishing it and maybe it just saved my play through... Let me know if its working, cause I don't want to touch it now.
I want one of those giant sackboy costumes...
Agreed, what will one of have to do, to get a Solid Snake Sackboy figure? Are they tied to the war economy?

I went back to it and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I hearted it.

Works fine now! Fun level, I thought it was pretty good. Hearted it as well!

Great thanks a lot! =)

I put some hidden rooms and easter eggs in my level as well. And I hope it's fairly easy to figure out the boss battle, I was worried that in pitch black it would be hard to understand. Seems like you guys got it though =) Yay

You need to possess a certain amount of nanomachines in your body to be allowed to buy one.

 I think it will be part of the infinite amount of DLC for this game. I just hope they don't nickel and dime us to death on this game, hopefully the content will be priced justly.

I guess this game isn't for me after playing around with the beta. It certainly has charm, but gameplay-wise, it's a bit dull for me. It's fun seeing the physics at certain points play a role in levels, but it's just not doing it for me.

I'm not fond of the jump mechanic and switching between the different levels (forward and back from the screen) isn't quite as intuitive and became rather frustrating (most evident for me in the last part of the God of War level).

It'll be rather interesting to see how the community develops with the level creator, though.

Few function sliders I would like to see:

Gravity (functions are obvious, lower lets you essentially float everywhere and higher stick you to the ground. Could allow for closer adaptations of a Mario game.)
Weather (as you slide down you cycle between rain (softer to harder) snow (softer to harder))
Wind (can change the speed and direction of wind forces)

More triggers:
Light Trigger (allows you to change the lighting (day, night, evening ect.) depending on where you are in the level)
Wind/Gravity/Weather Trigger (if those functions were introduced, it'd be cool to have a trigger for em)
Costume Trigger (Gives the creator the option of letting the sackboys switch to a certain chest piece ect. IE letting everyone wear Indiana Jones hats in the Indiana jones level (ya everyone can change but it would make it more universal))

And some more sackboy abilities:
Sprint (hold down a button causes the sackboy to run faster)
Shimmy (ability to climb ropes or swing across grabable materials)
Wall Jump (ability to jump from items in the level. IE Prince of Persia style jumping between walls)

Nothing to crazy but could really change up some things.

Ok, I've got a quick question guys.

I got my hands on the game early, but I haven't played it yet. This is the only time I've ever been lucky enough to find a game before the official street date that can be played online.

Question: Is there any "danger" to going ahead and playing the game? Maybe a stupid question, but I don't want my online account on the PSN to get banned or anything like that.

I'm sad now...ah well, it's not like I'll never play it again, and me and a buddy of mine had a great "last" three hours. Also, my favorite stages are officially the GAF: Prison Cube, and Ninja Warrior
Nothing from beta will carry over to the retail game, right?

I've heard it both ways, but the last I heard was the above.
They did a poll and it looks like stuff will carry over.

Everyone should check out the newest ad thread from Speedy, CC is giving a $15 gift card with the game. Hopefully best buy matches them.

There's a poll on the official site about whether users want beta stuff to be made available on the retail game's servers and it was overwhelmingly in favor of keeping it the time I looked. Everything would carry over if that holds.

I had fun with the beta . i preordered frocc for the 10$ Gc then canceled for the 15 I hope they dont take forever shipping it tho(no option for in store pick up:(

Eurogamer's review is up! Oli reckons it's a 9/10. Keep in mind Eurogamer doesn't use fractions and they use the whole 10 point scale, so a 9/10 is a close to a perfect score as a game can get without actually achieving one. Apparently the offline story mode is great fun, which is the part I was most interested in. I'm excited now.

Maybe I'm crazy, but from playing just the first couple of levels in the retail game, the controls actually feel a bit smoother and crisper than in the beta. Maybe it's just me, but moving back and forth between the three areas of front/back movement seems much easier, and the jumps seem just a tad bit less floaty.

That's great news about the story mode being a lot of fun. I can't wait to get deeper into that.

Just imagine how much money you could have gotten selling the early copy on ebay with overnight shipping...

(I still would have opened and played it myself)

One thing I hated about the beta is the zooming in and out while creating the levels or any other time. I had a hard time with it. The game is great though but I feel like a small fry when it comes to level creation.

I know that when Gamestop gets their shipment, i'll finally take a copy early and play the hell out of it. Any other game has never been worth it, but this one shall be in my hands much earlier than the 21st.

I don't understand how you can play the game with an early copy. I guess all you could do is the single player and maybe make levels, but are the retail servers even up yet?

It's annoying that the trigger setting "One Shot" doesn't really work as intended. What is it meant for? It'd be nice to have it so a pulley will only pull up once when you set up a area trigger to it.

But you have to connect the area trigger to a block of dissolve that separates two keys, so when you approach the area it connects the keys for good. That's the only real way to do things like that... it'd be nice if you could just set it up to one shot.

Thanks a ton. I was actually having that exact problem. I wanted an elevator that went up only one time when I walked to a certain point.

I thought the same thing, that the one-shot setting should work; however it never really worked as I intended and had several times where it would just do strange things such as go half-way and stop or something like that.

The no entry sign? It doesn't let anyone else join the level past a certain point.

And a physical climbing ladder would be impossible. The only way I see to make an object that you have to physically climb up a straight point, would be to make two long squares right next to each other (like the posts of a ladder) and make the rungs two piston blocks pushing together; have them closed. And make a trigger so when you approach the next set of rungs they open, and when you jump past them they shut and so on.

Does the Gamestop preorder code slip say anything about when or where to put the code in? I have the code but I don't know when I'm suppose to use it.
Has this been discussed yet? That would be awesome
A feature like that would give the game some serious legs. Just couple of videos featured on YouTube's front page weeks and months after LBP's release date could fuel a few sales like a ticking time bomb whenever a new video hits it big. In addition, this thread would be a lot more interesting to read if I had videos to watch.

I'm assuming you'll use it on the Playstation Store, like other redemption codes.
I'm assuming you'll use it on the Playstation Store, like other redemption codes.
That's what it is. All promotion cards on PSN go there. You can do it on the PS Store for the PS3, PSP, or PC (I usually prefer PC).
