Little Big Planet - Gen. Discussion & Info

I tried playing online and it was SUPER-Laggy. Hopefully they solve these problems before release. How hard could it be to make the platforming work online?

Remember its just a beta these things are destine to happen.

=( My Saved data got corrupted... That really sucks. I had to replay everything. Makes me want the final game even more, knowing all my stuff will always be there.

BUT, this game is at the moment= my favorite game of all time.

I think he means the rockets. Just play the tutorials.

Everyone in the beta should remember that the devs have already stated that the LBP beta was already old code by the time they released it.

I went out and pre-ordered at Gamestop. They said they were out of codes, but expecting a shipment this week of more, and to just come back to get the code. I was thinking of going twice to get two codes and see if I could just trade one for the Best Buy code.

I hope this beta is really old... and I hope they fix all the gluing problems. Seriously this is the most annoying game ever. I love it, but its so annoying.

I hate when you are working on your level and then all your crap turns into one giant object, so you pick up a cherry thats on the ground and the whole stage moves and then shit falls over and riggings break. Ughh!!! And sometimes things randomly get glued to the ground.

And the most annoying thing was every time I did something anywhere in the level, two of my trees would unglue...

Also, I hope they made grabbing those damn wires easier in the final build.

yea, the devs said this is a old beta

I decided to add even further to my backlog on the PS3 by pre-ordering this from Blockbuster about a half hour ago.

So now, I have Conan, Mercs 2, Uncharted, Godfather, Resistance, Assassin's Creed and Dark Sector to play through, as well as Timeshift and FF4: ROTSS from Kmart. That's on top of the LBP pre-order and me still having GTA IV and playing that the most.

got a copy of the beta when doing a psn share with a friend but it says it wont let me log in under my currect user. prob on the account that I dont have a beta key.

anyone got one ? =P
Making a working loop d loop and car that doesn't get all flippy is tough shit.
it's even harder when you take into account more than 1 player >_
Ya seriously. As of now. If you do not take your time with each piece, and think ahead, your level will explode with bugginess.
constant use of the undo and pause key are what's needed.

Ugh, I hate the undo button. It's annoying it rewinds, I just want it to pop the last thing I did away. It feels to buggy. And the pause graphic is to much, shakes the whole screen.

BUT, I friggen love this game.

I'm loving it, but I don't quite get the undo button. I hit it, and it seems to just be rewinding for a while. Do I just wait while it does its thing?

I'll add you, DarknessBear. Gotta see what you're up to on there.
Yeah, it's just rewinding to before the last thing you did.
The last thing you did with the Creation tools. Not play.

Ok cool. You wont see anything, I havent published any of my levels. The only level I really finished is the one I made for my GF, but I dont think anyone wants to play that... haha. I have a bunch of level ideas I am saving for release.

Me and my friend spent 2+ hours last night trying to make a monster truck and ramp. What are you guys using to make ramps? Ours was always too steep and the truck just kept flipping.

Well I realized last night that I am not creative at all. LOL, if I was stranded on an island and had to piece together a tent or raft out of random objects I wouldn't last but a couple of days. It would either sink or come crashing down on me.

Just like every level I try to create in this editor.

Well, that's no problem because with the millions of users LBP will get, there's bound to be a core group of really good level designers that have playable levels to the same extent that the story levels are. Then around that there'll be people of lesser skill producing more levels, not quite up there in quality, but fun nonetheless.

And there'll be 60+ story levels in the box.

So here's a question...will the levels we create in beta be able to use once it goes live? If so, I assume this would only work for region specific? I have the jpn beta and wondering if my level would save to the US version.

For people who are don't think they're creative...look a "rube goldberg". He's a good example for creating a level. Not specifically the whole level but you can get an idea to what you want to make. It's also a given that a lot of people will look at the old school 2d games. Hell even re-create some levels...hint super mario bros.

What I'd like to do is sketch a layout of what I can do (on paper) and work from there. Heh I guess going to an art school will be good for something.

I liked the ninja warrior level that I played last night. If you watch the show you will get a kick out of the level for sure.

sweet child of mine is a cool level, not that its unique but you basically ride a car across the map and it plays the song. I know that there will be tons of this type of map but it was funny just to see it work and be a part of it.

shadow of collosus was another good level that I tried, very good design.

I have some ideas I put down on paper today while I was suppose to be working. If they don't turn out too bad I'll upload them.

I heard that you will be able to bring your beta creations over to the full release, not sure about region locking.

Yes, all of the beta levels should be available to everyone that gets the game at launch. I don't believe LBP's region locked, so you won't have to worry about missing what the Europeans or Japanese are making, as long as you can find it.

Has anybody found the Tetris level yet in the beta?

I just saw that commercial on TV and was gonna post here lol. Kratos, Medusa, and Minotaur costume + level pack from a pre-order at Gamestop! Would they hand out codes when you preorder like they have been or upon pickup? lol

Maybe I should preorder after all since those look pretty nice lol. I figured I'd just wait and get it on the cheap instead of with exclusive costumes since chances are I'd probably want to customize my own character anyway...

Ok thanks for the heads up. Now I have another question which is possibly the reason why I asked earlier. I can't go online with my beta...I've tried this on my main and jpn accounts. I'm getting error 500. Anyone know what that means?

according to someone on playstation community forums, they had to switch system language to japanese to connect to the beta when they got this error.

I haven't tried that one yet, I need to check it out. World of color was another one that stands out to me. Try it if you can.

Does anyone know if the temperature meeter in the beta is the same as what will be in the normal game? It seems to be awfully low.

It seems like I add two motors and two switches for them and the meter jumps quite a bit.

Lol I know what you mean rolento. Just imagine...this is just beta and the level we just saw was the tip of the iceberg.

@myke hmm k I'll try that out and see if that works for me going online

I finally get to try it. I got a beta code unexpectedly in the mail. Anyone else try to run to Gamestop to see what they're saying about the extra pre-order content that's apparently available now?

I finished and published my first level last night.
If any one wants to try it, it's called "Mountain Jumper".

Try it out and let me know what you think! I spent a lot of time on it, so hopefully some people will like it.

Figuring out that there is text search, I found a few Tetris levels, but none were from that first video as these had way too few hits to be from that video. One had no jetpack, so you had to move things manually on your own, which sucked. Another had the jetpack, but not cloth pieces and required way too precise drops and fitting to work for more than a line or two before pieces piled up. The third was just a platforming level with a Tetris theme that made it way too easy to get stuck, especially when going for special object bubbles. Is it called something other than "Tetris?"

I found out there was a text search the second time I loaded it up.

Okay, so I just ended up playing with some people online (no talking because of my damned NAT 3) and I found it to be extremely laggy with 3-4 people. 2 people was okay, but 3-4 it was just crazy lag. Also, LBP kinda has a pseudo-party system where if people join you they stay with you until they leave and you can follow them if you want.
