Hey all.

Looking to get Quickbooks 2007. Pro or Premier, preferably Premier if possible (at the right price...). Anyone know of any deals or places where I could get it at a significant discount with rebates or even offer for businesses? Getting a OEM copy for cheap is fine with me too. Also willing to trade for a copy if anyone happens to have a copy they don't need.

But specifically want the current 2007 version because of their partnership w/ Google and new Google integration features - not really interested in later (uh) earlier versions.

I'm going to check around the "geekier" local indy computer shops as some of those often sell OEM software for cheap - that's the best thing I could think of.

Lmk if anyone knows anything on getting QB 2007 that I don't. Thanks much.

The best I've seen so far is $120 on sale at Frys (which, I happened to miss...) and on EBay.

Microsoft office accounting express 2007 - it's a free program

I use the full version (which is still cheaper that what was already mentioned, and it's a really nice program.[/quote]

I already knew about that and I did DL it. QB also has a $free entry level starter prog like Accounting Express called Simple Start. The full MS OAE Pro program comparable w/ QB Pro looks to be $150 retail so yeah looks to be less than the $200 retail of QB Pro. (not that I'd pay retail )

I'll test it out some if you say its good. I have them both $free starter progs installed but I really don't want to go too deeply into both of them.

I guess I haven't really been impressed w/ MS's latest "Live" products (to be polite). I tried out and disliked the new IE and Office Live so have already uninstalled each of them. If integration w/ the new Office Live is a big part of it, then that would be a major turn off for me. Also, my online banking doesn't support exporting to MS OAE. It supports Quicken, QB, and Money. So in that, it would be easier for me to just use 1 program as to use MS OAE, I'd need to also use one of the others anyways.

The new MS OAE integrates w/ EBay and PayPal which to me isn't really a selling point as I no longer sell on EBay and I try to use PayPal as little as possible. QB's partnership w/ Google however would help me as I use/like a lot of their products.

Don't mean to spew, but I tend to research everything so that's where that came from.

I know QB is spendy, so that's why I was hoping someone might have seen a rebate deal that cuts the price to less than half, (wishfully) or even better if I could get an OEM copy (I don't need retail packaging).

The microsoft accounting program is indpendent from the rest of office. I use it for my side business mainly because I got it through my technet subscription. Figured it was good to mention since it's a pretty new product. If I come across anything for QB I'll let you know.

I'm not really set on anything Atp. So I do appreciate your thoughts.

My big hesitancy with the MS Office Accting is that it is a new prog, and esp as Microsoft made it. Many of MS's initial releases tend to have issues until they release a 2nd generation or SP (Hello, Xbox, Vista??). The general consensus is that most people go w/ QB which is my reason for going there. I just don't want any potential hassles... My dad happens to work customer service for a CU and says he gets lots of calls from people using Quicken that have issues getting into their online banking, but really no calls from people using QB - that was pretty much all I needed to hear on that.
