Looks like it's OTT to the morning crew.
Jets or Jacksonville?
I didn't even think about Jacksonville, but they scare me since Cleveland has been on a winning streak and they completely shit the bed this month when they controlled their own destiny. They really have nothing to play for either, which scares me as Cleveland is playing for their coaches job.

Good morning, penis-y OTT.

Gots a dilema for you fine fellas. We moved our 360 to my fiance's apartment, and suddenly we're having connection problems out the yin yang. The 360 is now in a cubby in an entertainment center, so it's kinda enclosed. The 360 just disconnects from the network now, all the time. When we go to play the 360 again, we end up having to unplug the wireless network adapter (an official one), because the light has gone off. It seems my fiance is also having to frequently reset the router and modem.

He uses Comporium, a sucky little internet/cable provider which appears to be only in upstate S.C.

Any thoughts? Is Xbox Live having trouble from all the new 360s out there? I was thinking we should take the 360 out of the cubby and see if that helps. But is there something fancier we need to do? It worked fine at my place.
How far is the 360 from the router?

Is taking the 360 out of the cubby too much of a PITA to try?
The 360 is a little farther from the router than it was at my place. It's in the living room, and the office with the router is down the hall and around the corner. Bird's eye view about 12 feet or so. Not that far.

It's no problem moving the 360. We're going to try that tonight when I visit him.

According to a techy friend we emailed, my router isn't on the list of supported routers for the 360. I remember now the reason I bought it at the time, about three years ago, was because it was recommended to work with the Wii and DS.

got a lot done this morning. hit the at&t store to deal with my billing issue and they took care of it, went to the jewelry store to get my earrings fixed, got an application at an eye doctor, went to the gym to pay my bill and they told me that there wasn't a bill - bonus!, and hit up kohl's to get a new pair of running shoes and a they had a pair of pants in my size that the other kohl's didn't have. nice.

you should take it out of the cubby period. enclosed spaces + space heater != long life.
otherwise, it sounds like the router/modem/cable connection is hosed... the way to check would be to have other devices connect and see if they have the same problems... particularly something like a laptop or netbook that could maintain a constant connection.
It's a sad day for Pumas everywhere - the drummer for Avenged Sevenfold was found dead today.
That's sad. He was a really good drummer and I would have loved to see Avenged Sevenfold live sometime. I really hope they don't try to replace him.
I find it hard to believe that of all the games a digital distribution system like Steam could "sell out" of, it would be Prey.
They probably had very few keys for Prey, which is why they sold out of it.

Yeah, that was a similar recommendation a friend gave me. A wired connection to test what the problem is.

I know that putting the 360 in an enclosed space isn't superduper, but it fit so well. It's so sad that I have to plan for the eventual death of my console.
PC games rely on license keys. According to STEAM, they ran out of license keys for the sale. Gamestop's 360 stock has NOTHING to do with it.
*oh, and hides that she plays Braid on Steam*

Unless the dude was a main creator of the band's music (song-writting), they'd be CRAZY to not replace him. Sad, I know, but looking at it from a realistic point of view:
(a) the band wants to continue being a band, I'd wager, writing music and touring and making money... and so long as you're not replacing a singer or the main song writer, it's conceivable to do so without much blowback. this way, they'd be continuing on with the name they've already built to have recognition. the other option is (b) the remaining members form a new band. but without the recognition, only devoted fans of a7x would probably remember to follow the new band and check it out. The safer bet is (a).

[It's like replacing Cliff Burton vs. replacing Lynn Strait or Bradley Nowell. The former could happen such that fans really don't notice a huge difference in the music whereas the latter...]

 that you knew what steam was and totally glossed over the "digital distribution" part of AA's post.

I dunno... if you have a good warranty from some place like costco, fry the shit out of it -- you can take it in whenever it dies and just swap for a new one. If you're relying on MS, you'll have to plan on going without your box for a few weeks and resign yourself to dealing with the fact that, like WSB, you may receive a NASTY refurbed unit in return. Most people in here have had at least 1 RROD box. Both of mine happened with the console in wide open space... So if my console got hot enough for the board to flex and break the solder joints to the GPU (on two different consoles), just imagine what being in a closed space will do. D:
I guess it means that Steam only had about ten licenses for Prey.
Maklerchan was going to buy it until it sold out.

Hoping to have u-verse by the end of the week.

edit Prey has to be the only game i've ever seen blend native american culture with sci-fi horror.

It's obviously crapping out because you're living in sin. That'll teach you to live together before getting married. :nottalking:

Oh, and you're getting married? I missed everything while I was gone. Congratulations!
I really wish I could afford this $730 Macbook. That's a steal.
Yep. If it were any month other than this month, after I've spent a crazy amount on christmas presents, I would've definitely considered it.

:bomb:

I'm getting Silent Hill and Jade Empire today if they don't sell out.

Hurry the fuck up UPS.

Awesome, I just found out I can use ESPN360. Now I can watch this terrible Kentucky game, as well as some Liga Dominicana de Beisbol Profesional.

Get the demo for Prey. It's way better than the rest of the game.

The goddamn olympics are going to be airing all of February. NBC is the only network that I watch new shows on. A month straight without any new shows is gonna suck.

Watch Soulthland on TNT. It's a great show and there will be new episodes by February. It starts from the beginning 1/10/09 showing the first 6 episodes that aired on NBC earlier this year.

Get it now on Steam
and gift me a copy while you're at it

EDIT: The dude sitting next to me must be DJ Kool because he's been clearing his throat for the past twenty mninutes.

The only thing i don't like about killing floor is that unlike L4D, you don't have a flashlight all the time. From what i can tell, you only have a flashlight with the pistols, when you switch guns you can't use it. Which means a lot of quick switching and firing in the dark.

Alright, I switched my pick to the Jets. I'm going to kill you if this backfires.
Alright, I switched my pick to the Jets. I'm going to kill you if this backfires.
Pick who you want to pick, I was just trying to outlay some reasoning behind what I would do. Almost all the teams you have left scare the shit out of me and they either are going to choke or come up big. The Jets game is the Sunday night game so they might come up small, but Cincy really doesn't have all that much to play for and will probably rest people. Honestly they probably want the Jets to win so they don't have to play an AFC North rival like the Ravens or Steelers.

Also the Jags lost so many games they needed to win recently. Look at the Miami game they needed and the Colts game that they needed badly. Then they went to NE with a chance to stay in the hunt and they laid an egg.

PFFT! already over. I believe there was also an "If X, then I'll eat a dick" followed by, "HA, now what were you saying about eating a dick?"

coincidentally, "f-bomb" is his buddy's nickname.

Yeah, I think we'll move it out of that space and put the Wii in it or something. Thanks for the advice.

We're not living in sin, spoony. Heck, for that matter, we don't even have, ah... relations. He's moved into our future home, and I still have my own apartment across town.

Thanks for the congrats. I'm very excited. My last name will soon be Faulk...which lends itself to all kinds of jokes, naturally. (Meet the Fockers?) :D

Only hard part about mounting my tv was finding the damn wall studs. Once i did that it wasn't hard, and i did it by myself.

his buddy brought a laser stud finder. that was the easy part.

I don't think the studs in this place are the right distance apart. I measured 16 inches from a wall corner and there wasn't one there. Had to just take and probe with a screw driver a few times before i could find one. I bought an electronic stud finder, but it wasn't much help. Then our mantelpiece guy told me that the wall i mounted it to had two layers of dry wall, probably what gave the stud finder a hard time.

we would've ended up screaming at eachother and we would've ended up not speaking etc.

this show just took a turn for the interesting, the battery on the drill died while drilling hole #2 in the stud. The drill is stuck in the wall because there's not enough juice to back it out. the chuck won't release, either. Frosty went to find the back-up battery and it turns out the contractor accidentally took our charger and spare battery since he has the same one.

If I rent a movie at RedBox on say, Monday night after midnight when is the movie due back? Would it be Tuesday by 9:00pm or Wednesday by 9pm?

I was too damn sleepy after work to pay attention to the prompt during check out.
