Looks like somebody sold me a bootleg DS game on eBay, and I got a full refund!

If its a bootleg I don't think paypal will make you send it back, I had the same problem with a GBA games I told them they could get the games back if the paid for return shipping. I won both my disputes and was not made to return either bootleg one guy got banned and the other got their account suspended.

How would I actually tell PayPal that's its a bootleg? Is there an email address I can send to?

EDIT: Nevermind, I just sent PayPal an email regarding the situation. The message I sent them sounds pretty convincing to me, hopefully something good happens out of this. Best case scenario is I don't have to send the game back and I get a full refund; worst case is they make me send the game to him and I still get a refund (minus the shipping costs)

Yes! A couple of days after I sent PayPal the email, I just got my full refund back from the dirty scammer! All $53 of it, and I don't have to send the bootleg back.

I'll order the game from somewhere else now, but until then I might as well play the bootleg until it craps out on me.

You know what I did? I only an ebay account so I could bust this guy selling bootleg games. rofl He was selling ALOT. I asked him if his games were authentic and then what do you know, all his gba auctions disappeared. And this guy has realy good feeback. Watch out people!

I just reported him to Nintendos Illegal Auction department by email, hopefully the idiot will get banned or suspended from eBay, it would make my day.

Though I'm not sure, I guessing PayPal made him do it. Plus, I got the a complete and full refund, including the shipping, and the guy said he'd only refund the game price, so I don't think it was him alone.

Either way, I'm happy :)

I'm ordering the game again today, but this time I'm ordering it from an actual website, not an auction.

That's great to hear you got your money back. You should still report the jerk to ebay as well. It's the least you could do for all the hassle he put you through.
It will be intersting to see what nintendo does about it. I hope you can keep the thread updated with any actions they take that they let you know about.

Glad you're sticking it to some asshole. Goes to show you that nobody fucks with the blowfish!

That S.O.B. He's using a different account to sell his bootlegged games now. I know it's the same person because he/she uses the same layout and is from the same city.

Ugh, what a scumbag...this guy is a grade A lowlife...

Oh and hohez: I got the nickname Hootie before that damn band was formed! :)

I like being able to find most anything on eBay. But they're a Forgers Paradise. :bomb:

Fakes are really easy to spot. You'll know it.

As for offical carts, the save is either:
4k EEPROM
64k EEPROM
512k EEPROM
2M FLASH
4M FLASH (As of right now only Phantom Hourglass uses this.)

I've never scratched the gunk off the chips on a bootleg but I'd guess that the save is battery powered and they just slap the ROMs onto them.

Don't trade in a bootleg to Game stop.

As soon as I get my legitimate copy that I ordered on Wednesday, I'll just throw the bootleg out. I'll keep the box though, just incase if one of my other ones ever gets damaged.
