Ok...this was talked about a little in another thread but here it goes...I want you to list the games you missed out on getting and making a great profit. I missed out on getting Panzer Dragoon Saga for $20 complete and Phantasy Star 2 & 3 complete for $10...I will never forgive myself!

I try to forget instances such as these but Ok, here goes. The biggest I can remember missing out on was a guy who was wholesaling Castlevania Chronicles new/sealed for $16 each on Ebay a little over a year ago. I remember thinking I should buy all of them (he had at least 20 of them) because I was thinking they probably didn't make many and being Castlevania you know it's going to be collectible. I only bought 1 :(

Also some moron was selling PSO for Gamecube for $35 BIN at Christmas sealed. He had like 50 of them and drove the price of the game WAY down at Christmas. I was thinking about buying all of his as well but I panicked and decided not to. Recently they have been going $50 - $60 new.

Here's the worst though. When I was in college there was a guy who had listed Zaxxon and the original Space Invaders in the local paper (Upright arcade machines). They were in immaculate condition and were only selling them because their kid had graduated and was moving out. They had used them for parties, etc. and saw no more need. Total asking price: $450. I foolishly decided to try to squeeze them for a little more, and since the ad had run for 2 weeks and they hadn't received a response I decided to tell them "We'll see". I called later that day and asked if they would take $400 for both games. Some guy had come by 2 hours before I called and paid cash (!!!!)

Kind of an infinite list, isn't it?

For instance, I got in on the recent BB blowout purely by accident because I just happened to visit the local store on Monday. Made a half dozen nice acquisitions. However, I had just been doing a bit of websurfing before going there yet I didn't check CAG for the latest news. If I had I would have known about the numerous titles that weren't properly marked and requested a price check.

OTOH, I once found five used copies of Panzer Dragoon Saga, all in good condition, at a store that couldn't seem to find the audience for them. I got the lot for $100 but sold them all (I already had one of my own) on Ebay for $65-85 each.

Luck of the draw. The product was there and I was in the position to know their genuine value in the correct market.

A really good question for Sega is why they haven't released PDS on a more mainstream playform. It would all fit on a single Xbox or PS2 DVD and even with upgrades to the graphics would cost considerably less than an entirely new production.

I want more stories!
You don't want stories. You want to hand out misery. :)

I have owned and later sold (for peanuts usually, and usually to EB) the following: all of these would be in near perfect condition

-Suikoden
-Persona
-Secret of Mana
-Super Metroid
-Final Fantasy III
-original printing of Final Fantasy Tactics
-all the Final Fantasy Legend games
-Vectrex system with about 8 games
-Atari 2600 with about 50 games, including two original working paddles

There are others but you get the idea. I've had tons of stuff that had I held onto it, would be worth a mint now. It's why I've instituted a 'no trade, no sell' policy. Everything I have now will be with me in 20 years.

My girlfriend has the "Family Fun and Fitness Pad" (before Nintendo bought the rights and changed it to the Power Pad) for her original NES. Some kid "borrowed" all their games when they were little and never returned them. One of the games that never came back? Stadium Events.

Ouch, thats really gotta be a kick in the ass... :(
not that great, but i missed out on gettin gitaroo man for 15 bucks, now its goin for like 30 :(
If you want another copy it is only 16.99 used at the gamestop on capital BLVD. (watched it traded in)

I am probably going back today to try and snag it but if want it I will not go and get it

edit: sorry but I went up there and put my name on it. I just gotta wait for the employee to return it from checkout. the manager was wondering how I even knew about the game when it never touched the floor

This isn't exactly what you asked for, but it still sucks. I traded three Nintendo's, about fifteen games, and a lot of accessories for about $60 in credit.

If these were just the cartridges don't feel that bad. But if you were like me back in the (good ol) day of NES/SNES you kept everything (i mean everything!) that came with the game because Funcoland gave an extra ca$h for the Box and all the goodies that came with it! Oh, and because mom wanted that extra ca$h back when we traded in our games (gotta love Cheap Ass Mom :) ).

Ok, here is my horror story:

Sigh... 100% Complete Earthbound down the drain to local funcoland.

Where's the gun? Damn! We don't have one. I feel sick.

luckily, there is a happy ending! :) Soon after I swooped in and got the last copy of Earthbound from Toys R Us when I realized how much I missed it. Woot! Mom made me save it all just in case. Feeling a little better now :)

I saw 2 complete and mint copies of Suikoden II (it was like someone just ripped off the plastic and sold them back to the store) for $15 each. I bought one for myself, but I didn't know of its rarity, so when I went back, the other was gone. Where's the lost opportunity, you ask? Um... of course I would've bought the other for one of you other CAGs who need it instead of selling it for $100+ on ebay. *snicker*

Having a chance to buy a segaCDX in box with ten games for $50 but decided to come back later (to the garage sale) to get something to eat but I only had $60. I went back but it was gone :x .

I remember seeing a lot of copies of Suikoden 2 for $20 at Fred Meyer before I moved two years ago. I didn't know it would be collectable or worth a lot of money, but I'm kicking myself now.

A Toys R Us was also selling some sealed copies of Earthbound on the SNES a couple of years back. It was the extra large box with the guide and everything for under $10. That goes for a pretty penny on eBay now.

I'm not mad at myself for passing up on them though, I didn't know any better at the time.

... yea few year ago I saw Suikoden 2 at my local JC Penny Ele. department for $20...

n i m piss since that game worth over $100+ on ebay

I traded in my Dreamcast and all the games when the new systems came out. Among the games I had were SF3 Double Impact and Third Strike, Rush 2049, Skies of Arcadia, Soul Caliber, and a bunch of others.

There are alot of games that i've missed out on. When i worked at Sears about 4 years ago i found some stock of old SNES games that i was going to buy on clearance and keep sealed since i collect old sealed games. I put 5 of the best in a drawer so i could buy them later. came back to get them and my coworker tells me that my manager sold them to a customer asking about Super Nintendo games, even though my coworker to directly told her that i was planning on buying them. The games were:

Kirby's Dreamland 3
Kirby's Superstar (2 copies)
Donkey Kong Country 3
Super Metroid

I could kill her for selling those considering how much sealed copies go for on Ebay now. I did get one of the copies of Kirby's Superstar though, which i still have. I also missed out on a sealed Chrono Trigger on clearance at Target for $20 back in 1997. Around the same time Target clearanced out all of their virtual boy stuff for supercheap. Got the system for $27, Warioland for $5, and some other things for real cheap. I just should have bought extras to put away. Missed out on buying extra Nomad systems for $50 when they were clearancing them out at Toys R Us many years ago. Missed out on buying extra NES Top Loaders at TRU for $30 new. Missed out on buying extra SNES version 2 systems at $30 each at TRU. Missed out on buying Suikeden 2 many, many times shortly after it came out at $20. Missed out on buying extra Suikoden 1 when they were $10 at many different stores. And alot more. I think im going to go cry now

My KB Toys were selling new Atari Jaguars for like $15, and they had quite a few of them. Had I known they would be selling for so much now, I would have bought as many as I could.
