In the on-going support for Lost Planet, Capcom have sent word that they will be fixing any network issues that some may have experienced with the option of different connection methods. It seems complicated, but if it works it shouldn’t matter.
There are three connection types planned, and is selectable when you create an online match:
[Default] - This is the standard setting regardless of upload speed.
[Pattern A] - This is more suitable when your upload speed is fast. Try this if your connection is unstable with Default.
[Pattern B] - This is more suitable when your upload speed is slow and your connection is not stable with Default. Try this if your connection is unstable with Default.
It seems there will be some experimentation needed before you can properly work out the right one for you. Hopefully this won’t prove too time consuming though.
Capcom do warn of problems though. It seems they are preparing for the worst in case some people who play through the launch of the patch don’t download it. If this happens, look out for:
Glitches with screen text
The game stops progressing at certain screen.
Disconnection (disbanded mission, etc)
This shouldn’t happen for too long, but if you do meet some players without the patch, give them the heads up so the whole community can play happily ever after. Tell them to sign out and sign back in again to get the patch.
