Lost Season 3!!! (Beware of Spoilers)

There does seem to be a lot of things being thrown out there right now. I have a feeling at some point that a lot of these things are related, and will come together somehow (somehow, being 2 islands, having the truck in the cave, etc). So, after seeing that, it'll be obvious why it had to be laid out this way. That's my hope anyway.

I will second the flashback comment. They are getting lame. It almost seems like they don't want to show too much of the island, so they show what the person did outside the island. My fear is, if this show goes 10 years, we'll have to go back and see Locke and Sawyer fight it out on the playground or something.

I REALLY hope the people behind the show take the criticisms seriously and tighten up the episodes that are left to shoot.

wonder some questions

will walt and his dad return or r they off the show

whatever became of the black women who let walt visit his dad. Seems werid you dont see her anywhere with the others now.

also henny seems to have a tv room like the peral hatch

so i wonder if they island they are on there has to be a whole new hatch system

Yea man...WTF...she seemed like a odd interesting character.

yeah i had talked about the major character killed a couple pages back...he/she didn't get along with the producer...

walt and mike are still on the payroll, but they have been taken off the list of characters...they probably will make some appearances

not only does lost have to worry about criminal minds, the numbers they have now, are down a lot from this time last year. The numbers they have this season are similiar to the numbers they had during the spring, as americain idol has a high viewership and pretty much steals them from all shows airing vs it. So not only do they have to worry about criminal minds and the future airings of americain idol, the fill in show that is like a groundhog day meets 24 is getting horrible reviews. If the viewers they have now in losts timeslot jump ship when the other show fills in, they may not get them back.
If anyone can send me last night's episode please PM me. Thanks.
You can watch it for free on ABC.com

This season seems to be a complete failure. The next episode is already the season finale?!

Another useless flashback ep. tonight. It was super obvious Eko was gonna die from the previous show, why the hell did they give us more filler instead of working on the story?

The only high point was when Juliet was showing Jack that video but I couldn't help but laugh cause it looked so cheesy.

Looks like I'm not gonna hold my breath for season 4.

Fall season finale. It comes back in January or February for the rest of season 3 straight through as opposed to last season where we got an episode, two weeks break, three episodes, five week break.

i think i perfer to have it like this...i was getting annoyed last year with all the damn repeats in between new episodes...i wish every show could be like 24

Those fuckers keep killing off the good characters and leave the annoying ones around. Although, they do have my gratitude for the Ana Lucia thing, I still appreciate that. Tonight's death though? fuck you Lost. When do we get to see Charlie die for god's sake?!?!?

Well I guess thats some kinda good news but still not as excited as I should be.
When do we get to see Charlie die for god's sake?!?!?
I'm with you on that one.

As for tonight's episode - it was a waste of time. Easy one of the worst episodes the series has ever shown. Outside of the conflict of interest Jack now has and Ecko's death (he was one of the characters I cared about too), nothing was worthwhile.

Next week better live up to "the best show of the season" hype it's giving itself, otherwise I may not be around for part 2 of the season in January. I can't believe this show has fallen so far from grace.

Another blah episode. Eko's flashback was interesting. The rest of the episode minus a minute or two with Jack, was pretty bad.

I'm pissed off at what happened last night, he was one of my favs!
Anyone else annoyed at the two 'tag-alongs' with Said and Locke? I've noticed them trying to add new peeps to the fold, but the guy and girl who suddenly are in the know just come off as annoying!

i wonder if they will try to sell

LOST SEASON 3 part 1 In jan
then
LOST Season 3 part 2 IN sept

to make more money off lost.

Im sorry but they made a major mistake in breaking it up cause im sure many people wont come back in Jan cause the show is just lacking now

people bitch when they split the season up.. people bitch when they don't... what do can they possibly do to make everyone happy??? nothing.

I'm caught up now! I wonder tho:

are there really 2 islands?!?! if so, how does goodwin and ethan run to the crash sites?!?!

(of course, unless they were on the crashed island)

and michael isnt in the opening credits!!!

that guy better come back! they cant just let him disappear!

I don't miss him at all. He brought nothing to the table and even when he was going after Walt, he came across as cheesy more than anything; too much overacting. He's one of the few characters that I wanted to go. I hope he doesn't come back.

make 32 ep. seasons like they used to do with shows. : )

i never bitched when they had reruns. i would rather have 4 new 4 repeats 4 new 4 repeats then 10 new then nothing for 10 weeks

fuck that .. I wanna see Hurley die. He's annoying as hell. "Hey dudes!" "Yo man" "Like, I was thinking about, like, listening to my iPod and stuff dudes". :bomb:

I'm willing to bet both will become cannon fodder, so to speak. I'd be surprised if either survive, especially since Ecko told Locke and co. that they are next before he died.

I dont know...but to me i cant watch a Lost repeat and definately cant watch the damn recap shows...i love the show but i just have no desire to watch it more then once...i much rather have them take a break

I can believe it. Look at J.J. Abram's other creation, Alias. That show started out with a bang and went out with a wimper. Despite the fact that Alias's last season was starting to get back to the quality of the first season, the damage had already been done, everyone quit watching it.

At this point, I seriously would not be surprised if Lost is around for more than another season or two. The quality has gone down so far and they simply don't have the viewers they used to. The hardcore fans are pissed because they keep jerking us around (I mean really, how many people do you hear raving about this show anymore? all you ever hear anymore is people bitching about it) and the casual fans just don't care if they see it or not anymore.
fuck that .. I wanna see Hurley die. He's annoying as hell. "Hey dudes!" "Yo man" "Like, I was thinking about, like, listening to my iPod and stuff dudes". :bomb:
Oh believe me, Hurley is also on my list of "annoying Lost people who need to die" but Charlie tops it. Others include: the annoying girl with the baby, the new emo-Sun (she used to be kinda cool but her character, like the show, has gone downhill fast), and those two tag-alongs from last night (ESPECIALLY the guy).
I dont know...but to me i cant watch a Lost repeat and definately cant watch the damn recap shows...i love the show but i just have no desire to watch it more then once...i much rather have them take a break
I feel the same wway with the exception of most of 1st season's episodes. There's some quality episodes in that season and I definetly don't mind watching them again. I don't think I'd watch almost any of 2nd season's episodes again and I definetly wouldn't watch any of the 3rd season episodes again.

Oh dont worry. They'll be dead by the end of the season. If not the girl .. at least the guy. Remember the last time they brought in a background character? It was so he could be killed handling the explosives from that pirate ship.

Another thing I hate is that they screwed up Desmond already.
He was one of the better new characters but now he's a hippy Jesus freak.
Whatever happen to those snow guys tracking him down from last season?
I want answers dammit!!!

God that was great. So unexpected. Just BANG, he's dead.

here are some answers/comments to a few of the above issues/questions regarding eckho and mike

eckho was not liked on the set and he called the girl in charge a bloody fucking cunt in front of a large part of the cast and crew. The cast applauded when they filmed his death. He wrote himself off the show with his attitude.

Micheal is still part of lost, he will have some parts in the 2nd half but not much. That will be more in the third season according the 2 writters on tvguide.com this week.

as for the split up of the season, they 2 guys in charge said they could either continue to run a ton of repeats, which really pissed off the base last year. They could do what they are doing, or they could do what 24 does and do 22 or so episodes straight. They along with the network decided to split it. If people bitch about it enough, hopefully they will change it to the 24 style where they run it straight.

I enjoyed last nights episodes for the midseason cliffhanger. Kates backstory sucked, but the on the island stuff was good.

Second half of season 3 starts this week. I cant wait. But is anyone else confused as to why they pushed it back to 10? Is it so it doesnt have to compete with American Idol and Deal or no Deal?

season 2 started with about 21 mill viewers....by the end of season 2 they were down to about 16 mill viewers..most of this they belive had to do with americain idol (rather then the shotty storyline and many repeats). They started season 3 with about 16/17 mill viewers and then dropped to low 15 mid 14 viewers, and criminal minds took the marketshare of viewers at 9pm. While lost had the key demographics in the hour, criminal minds was winning in total viewers. They moved the show till 10pm due to americain idol and criminal minds. The demo's of criminal minds shouldn't loose many many of its viewers to idol, so that would put lost in a distant 3rd place finish. Deal or no Deal had nothing to do with it.

Got some info on some of the storylines coming up...I hope that is acted out better then the story was given me as it sounded horrible

I'm stoked for the show to come back. Luckily for Lost, ABC is running a recap at 9 to catch everyone up on the the island.

It's pretty clear that Idol is the juggernaut that ABC is trying to avoid. Wednesdays are going to be the results show, and that's always done well. CSI:NY is also on at 10, but that show has lost a lot of it's viewers as of late.

Either way, 16 weeks of non-stop Lost is a good thing. Nearly everyone's gripe last season was the off weeks or the repeats.

i wonder how badly the ratings will fall at 10pm. im going to guess they will be very lucky to pull down 10-12 million per week. They are lucky that TIVO is out of their ratings would be lower then that.

a lot of people are in bed way before the 10 pm time rolls around. I know that with classes starting at 8am the next morning and all of my family members work early in the morings if there was no way to tape it None of us would even watch it.

Thats what I'm thinking. I would assume it would be a better idea to move it to 8pm. Or if they're that worried about the competition, just change it to a new day. If it werent for the fact that I have a dvr I would never watch Lost at 10pm.

Kind of an old article (a few weeks) but they've got an interview with one of the producers at IGN.

How Will Lost End?

Says they expect the loss in ratings from moving to 10pm will be comparable to the hit they'd take from going up against Idol. Also some other good tidbits. Questions answered about Michael, Bernard and Rose, and the following:

Q: Is it hard to keep track of the fact that for the characters, so little time has passed, while we've been watching it for years?
Lindelof: No, in fact it's going to become a huge part of the storytelling in season three; that sort of disconnect. We felt the need to remind the audience that was in fact the case with the Red Sox game, and just basically say, 'Here on the island it's just November of 2004.' You know, we just sort of passed Thanksgiving. Here in the world we're actually three years beyond that, so this is something that we're not only keeping track of, but writing towards for sort of a very major shake up coming soon.
He made a point to say that it was November of 2004. I already posted this in the OTT a while ago (couldn't find this thread at the time) but I'm thinking maybe some fallout from the tsunami of Dec. 2004 may be hitting the Lost Island.

So in as many words they're telling us that they're gonna skip ahead in time ala the One Year Later in Battlestar Galactica. We'll see how that goes...

Edit-I just read the article and sure enough right after the "we're gonna shake things up" comment, the interviewer mentions Battlestar  Despite the interviewee saying they don't want to seem like they're "ripping off" Battlestar, it doesn't seem like he's outright saying they won't do it. In fact, it seems like he goes so in depth about it that its definetly something they've discussed at length.

that wasn't the only gripes the overly convuluted storyline, the giving more questions without ever giving any answers hurt it as well. The avg americain attention span was forgotten about, and they lost viewers. If people were so upset about the repeats, they more would have turned in at the begining of the season.

They were also LOSING to criminal minds...americain idol would just make them 3rd place
I am pretty sure they announced that next year they will do a straight thru run like 24. Not sure if it will start in the winter or fall.

I liked tonight's episode. It was definetly the best they've had all season (all 7 episodes so far anyway...) and has me excited to be watching the show again.

So we know Ben is Alex's father and the french woman, Rousseau, is her mother. So... yeah, somebody's got some 'splanin to do...

The first new episode in months, I've got about 10 friends over to watch, and the local ABC affiliate goes out 3 times during the broadcast. Piiiiiiiiissed. Liked what we saw, though.

hey Jek Porkins!!!

if your name didn't have 'Porns' in it,

then you would be Jekki,

like me!!!

anyway tonites epidode was hella tite!!

they had that guy all strapped up to the TV like he was watching that video from the Ring

and Desmond's gonna be like "u okay brotha, u see a ghost eh? see u in another life brotha"

and then it will become a mystery of the island.

It's fairly obvious, but for the people who didn't catch it:
The two business men who try to hire Juliette in her flashback (Ethan and the other guy) work for the company that created Dharma. Ethan will probably have a much bigger role now.
