You guys remember that funky joystick/XBLA game bundle that MadCats released for like $40 a year or so ago? Looked kinda like this?

Well, Fry's is selling them for $10!! I bought it today in hopes that Arkanoid Live is compatible with the spinner, plus I didn't have 2 of the 3 games it comes with (Time Pilot/Frogger/Astro Pop), so whatever.

I'm in Las Vegas and my Fry's had STACKS of these.:hot:

Good luck all!:bouncy:

Unfortunately, he wasn't able to find any.

EDIT: If anyone does pick some up, I'm still interested.

I didn't see this thread, I just went to Fry's a couple of days ago.

They had a shit ton of them, I went and bought one. It works well for what it is, course I won't be using it for very long once I get a SFIV Joystick.

I can confirm that the Dallas Frys has this deal. There were about 7 or 8 left after I got mine. But be warned! The control is CHEAPLY made. But hey, it is Madcatz after all. Still, the turbo and spinner features are nice. And for $10 it's worth it for the games alone. The codes are expired, but I haven't tested them yet. I'll update later tonight.

Edit: All of the codes work fine.
The only good thing about that joystick is the circuit board inside is common ground, meaning it's very easy to rip it out and make a REAL arcade joystick out of it. Otherwise avoid.
See, that right there makes this worth $10 to me (but not more than that). Of course, I don't live anywhere near Fry's and they're not available online anymore.

Buy it for the live games if you want. I bought this for $20 and I tried the controller and it is the worst piece of gaming garbage ever made. I then tried to trade it to gamestop and they wouldnt take it. I would have taken 50 cents for it if they would have given it to me. Stay away from this controller for your own sake.

Yeah, the hackability of these is the only reason I would pick one up. So I guess that I would value these at not much more than the cheapest I can find a 3rd party wired 360 controller. I would pay a few bucks more for the games, but I don't think I would pay more than $10.

The last time I went to my local Fry's (a few days ago), I didn't see any of these. Of course, I didn't scour the length and breadth of the store to specifically look for these.

All of the codes work fine. Games are pretty good too. Like others have said, for $10 it's worth it for the games, but the arcade stick itself is pretty bad. Still, it does have turbo and a spinner which I'm pleased with. But if you're buying this just for the control, stay away.

I spotted a few of these at my local Gamestop todayfor $20. I didn't pick one up, but I'm thinking about it -- $20 locally won't cost me too much more than asking a fellow CAG'er by Fry's to pick one up at $10 and mail it to me anyway.

I just picked one of these up at a Frys near my house. Its either a Houston or Katy location, I'm afraid I cant tell anymore. But they had dozens of these units availible. The codes for the games worked, so now I have all three. Time Pilot is an okay shooter. Astro Pop reminds me of Magical Drop for the Neo Geo Arcade units.

I played frogger, and the game is buggy! Trucks kill you if you're JUST near them (not touching it, but being just NEAR it). Landing on a turtle apparently count as landing on the river sometimes :bomb:

As for the other two games, they play fine. Just watch out for frogger.

I bought one of these to play Pacman CE and it sucks. Can't controll pacman at all. But good buy just for the games.

At my Fry's (Wilsonville, OR), this rang up yesterday @ $6.99. Got one for the spinnerability for use in Tron. I hates the spiderss.

Necro-ing the thread instead of creating a new one since it's only 3 bucks off...

If anyone gets one of these and already has/doesn't want one of the games i'll gladly trade. I have a code for the GameStop Only Gears of War 2 theme. I have Frogger already. Thanks in advance.

Too bad the codes for the XBLA games within the packages are expired. It happened to me when I scored one for cheap from Walmart. I promptly returned it since I emailed Mad Catz customer care and they didn't want to help me with getting new codes. I believe the codes expired at the end of June 2008.

It's too bad they didn't print your expiration dates on a previous page of this thread, because then you could have ignored them too and be enjoying your games right now. ;-)

To reiterate what has been said on the previous pages, I just downloaded the games from the joystick I purchased yesterday and the expiration dates appear to be more an estimate than a deadline...

I bought one of these earlier this week from a Circuit City which is closing. The Frogger and Time Pilot game codes worked fine. (I haven't tried the Astro Pop code, as I have it on the Pop Cap Games compilation.) The 48 hour XBox Gold trial code did not.

Props to Darthjer, who mentioned using the spinner on Tron. I loved that game growing up. I didn't want to spend Xbox points on it when shooting the spiders and controlling a tank's turret would be tough without some sort of rotation. That has now changed.

Ok. So my smart-assedness was only half-justified. Still though, I'd hate to think that anybody was getting this for the 48-Hour code, and not the games... I got it for the Time-Pilot and the spinner, but the Frogger and Astro-pop kept me busy for a few minutes too...

I've used codes that said they had expired a year earlier. You could have used them.

I picked mines up from Best Buy a year or so ago for the same price.
The stick is a piece of shit, luckily I sold it to some guy the following week for $10-15 i believe
SO i got my XBLA games for free

I also remember trying to trade it to Game Crazy
they said they don't take 3rd party accessories for trade in
even though they had one for sale at $50 right in the glass case beside me

I was was able to get one of these from where Meijer's just had them down to $6.99, the codes worked when I tried them

bread's done
