This is the best option for a league right now. Just go off the real NFL schedule and use the OP to keep track of everything.

I just got my copy from the midnight launch and created a test league with no problems, so I'm not sure where the rumors that you needed to play a ton of games first came from. We should be good to go from day one.

How does the game actually handle it when you have 32 users and select 1 as your number of games? Because the claim is that it means 1 game against each user. Thus, 31 games.

Okay, I must have read that differently then. I thought it was that you needed to play so many games just to get into a league. I'm not sure why they didn't offer the chance to use the actual schedule or generate a normal 16 game schedule.

Yeah, that's what people are pissed off about because unless you do like a 16 team league, it's going to take forever to get through a season, thus making online leagues worthless. EA really dropped the ball on this one because football is the only sport where you could realistically play a full season with EVERY team without people losing interest.

This was their chance to have the most realistic football sim ever...and they fumbled at the goal line. How they thought this was a good idea, I'll never know. Teams don't play every other team in the real NFL, EA...and we don't need to either. Idiots!
 
It would've been much better to just put the franchise mode online like they did for NCAA 09. That would solve the schedule issue and would be much better than leagues for me.
 
Azumangaman: im making a suggestion.

I was in this mlb 2k8 league where they had a website on freewebs.com. it worked surprisingly well for a mlb league. I think you should make a site on freewebs.com and put all the members, a schedule, and a forum there.
Then we can keep track of alll the people that are committed and the people that are not committed

Damn, the CE is really well put together. I usually dislike it when CE's of games don't have the regular case inside, but this is nicely put together.
 
I have the game. Since Krams706 is dropping, could i switch to the Chargers?

Also , if anyone wants to play an "exhibition" sometime, send me an invite.
 
I just got back with my copy a little bit ago. I'll fire it up once my wife is done playing Zuma. I'm still down for the league if we get it adjusted for real NFL schedules. Otherwise, I'll still be willing to get my butt whipped by anyone that wants to play.
 
I think we should try and limit the league to like 10-14 teams and you play each team once. You could play your games in any order and maybe the top half of the league would make the playoffs.
 
Like I said earlier, I'm not getting the game for a while, but here's a suggestion. Maybe have four pools with a set number of teams in each. Then have each team play the other teams in their pool and the top couple teams from each pool make it to the playoffs. That's just a suggestion, though.

Wow. This is my favourite idea so far. We can have 8 leagues that have each team play each other twice (they'll be the proper NFL divisions) then we can break it down and each winner will go to an 8-man thing that won't be a league but rather users will set up matches.

What do you guys think?

Either setting up 8 mini-leagues, or doing a crazy 32 team real NFL season.

has anyone had a full online match yet? When i play, usually after the 1st quarter I get "connection has been lost with your opponent". Often times the score has been tied, so I am assuming that my opponent is not quitting on purpose. Online matches seem to still be buggy.

Not yet, but I'll probably be able to start up a match with Matt Young tonight, so I'll let you know.
 
I would love to play as the Chiefs if that spot is still open. I think this is the only CAG Madden league that still has a spot open.

Devin, why are you dropping out of the league? You just opened your copy earlier today while we were in the chat, after I spent several days trying to convince you it was worth playing.
 
BTW guys, I won't be able to converse during games since my wireless headset seems to not be functioning and I gave away my wired ones.

Managed to actually run in a game tonight, too. Rushed for nearly 75 yards against the Bears' defense along with two scores with Addai. The average was decent, but the longest rush I had was a 13 yarder.

Im pming my week 1 opponent and no response yet...I have a bad feeling that people arent paying attention to the thread anymore.
 
Franky I got your PM, but I don't think this league will work thanks to the jacked up interface of the Madden Online Dynasty. Did they do this on purpose to make sure Madden 2010 has at least one new feature?
