Madden 09 League-Congratulations Soodmeg!

I'm going to rebuy the regular version with the Toys R Us buy 1 get 1 1/2 off so I'll still stay in the league. I should have the game by next Tuesday and I'll play my game with SteveMcQ then.

No I was going to order it. I just bought two copies of Virtua Fighter 5 the other day when I went to TRU.

By then if games aren't played, I'll take note of whos still interested and we can make a mini-tournament.

EDIT: I am sorry GJohn. I for some reason thought there was only 1 madden CAG league and I called the first team in the other thread. So yes you have first dibs. If another person drops out (hopefully who ever is playing as the Titans) I call that one.

WoW! THe other league set up by Jagged Toaster has almost all there games played! This one has barely any played unless the OP hasnt been updated but I think it has...what a sad state of affairs.
 
Yeah, its sad. We have about 7 games played.
I sent a PM to Ultimate Matt who I have a feeling will want the Browns :p
I also sent one to a guy for the bears...so we'll see....

But the game would only allow me to create an unranked match if I wanted to invite someone to play with me.
 
I'm not sure how you make it ranked. My opp in the other league challenged me to a ranked match and we weren't in a lobby or anything. I'm not sure how he did it...detailed explanation would be welcome.

Meet in a lobby.
OR (I'm not really sure how to explain it....)
You can go to your Online profile and look at your friends list, if the person is on your friends list you can invite them to a game and its ranked. You have to look at the friends list IN Madden.
I'd imagine Lobby's are easier though.

If it comes down to be I will like to change them. My fav teams in this order are Live and Die with the Titans, Then Pats, then Jags.


If the Titans owner wants to trade with me and for the Pat I would take it.

Assuming he gets kicked out.

HOWEVER, I have a feeling a bunch of teams will be available after this week.
I'm going to check everyone that hasn't played yets profile. If they haven't been on CAG for a long time, THEY'RE ELIMININATED!
 
Right now I'm making a list of people I'm booting from the league.
A bunch of people haven't been online since JULY!
Should I boot somebody if they've been off for 15 days? Because thats really messing up the league...
 
Yes dude.

In order for leagues to work they must be played in a certain amount of time. People simply lose interest as other things come up and other games come out.

Thats why the smaller the better and the quicker the better. If it does well simply do another league right after. I never saw the point in trying to draw out a league as long as possible. Get it going get it done and start the next one. This way after about 2 or 3 of them you will have a hardcore group of players that you know will be able to finish the league. These are the people you play a slow drawn out one with.

You cant start off with a slow one because you dont know the peoples commitment level yet.

If you are supposed to play any of these teams I apologize. Soodmeg, you can pick either the Lions or Jets. Then I'll open it up for the other team.

EDIT 2: OK, SO the teams list is updated in the OP. If you haven't had an opponent yet (i.e. if your opponent is on this list), you have extra time, but Week 2 will start Sunday. Deal?
 
Can I switch to one of the "other" teams that are up for grabs. I really hate the Bears. I rather have, in order, the Saints, the Jets, or the lions before the Bears.

IMO, if someone has been offline for more than 5 days they arent going to play a whole season. You need folks who'll be available to play games. I'm lucky I just work 2 days a week and I can play alot. Maybe a smaller league would work better. The other league I'm in, Jagged Toaster's, is going really smooth, to have all the teams playing. If you want to shorten it, you can count on me to play.
 
It says Ace! was on today, but I wouldn't be surprised if he just decided to quit all CAG leagues after his tirade in the NCAA Dynasty thread.

Azu, what will we do about our game? I'm out of ideas. :(

Honestly, I say we give it a couple more tries. After all, we can both play against other people (I had a brilliantly smooth match with halo_pwner).
However, if we can't get it working, since we play each other twice, we can each get a win and each get a loss. I figure we'll both win at home, so you can take week 1.

By the way, I am sorry but I am slightly confused how this is working. So we are following the real NFL schedule so that means I should just look at who the bears are playing this week and then just send a ranked game invite to the person who owns that team here?

Please explain.
 
I posted this in the other thread also but I think its a good idea so I will post it here to.

By the way here is a suggestion if you are not already doing it. Why dont you guys have a preferred time slot posted in the OP of everyones schedule. Have everyone post their preferred time in which there is at least a 90% chance that they will be on so that at least you have a point of reference when the other person will be on. For example.

Soodmeg
8-10pm Weekdays. PM for weekends.

Now if the people in the league are truly honest about what times they are on there should be no problem looking finding the proper people to play with. Also this will weed out everyone who doesnt plan on playing beacuse they most likely wont come back to post their preferred time.

Of course this isnt the answer to everyone but at least you will have a point of reference instead of always going by pms and such.

Yeah, were following the real NFL schedule, so there aren't any trades or anything. Basically you just look at the post UNDER the OP, where it has the week one schedule. Eventually I'll keep adding schedules so hopefully it'll be a massive 17 week post. But yeah, find your opponent on the list, contact them, and meet them in a lobby or invite a ranked match if you can. Home team does the invite.
