You can take the Bengals from me. I can't seem to be on at the same time as my opponents because I don't have a "set" schedule due to work so it's whenever I'm on, I'm on. It doesn't seem to be at the same times as my opponents, so feel free to take over the Bengals.
@SteveMcQ: Does Sunday morning before 1 work for you? 12:00pm EST is good for me. I'll be watching the FIRST FREAKING WEEK OF THE NFL alll day.
I may be home Saturday night as well.
Yup, 12EST should be fine. I won't start a new game after 1230pm EST though since I don't wanna miss the opening kickoff.

Sstyler, you can take the Bengals if you want because ReturnofBoltz just handed them to you.

You guys may have noticed the OP saying "PRIZES coming soon". THAT'S CUZ I'M ADDING PRIZES FOR THE WINNER BITCHEZZZZ!
Because I'm a kind soul :D

OK, I just played my Madden game in my other league and DAMN, it was absolutely seamless. As in, they ONLY difference between single player and online was that I had to wait a couple seconds for my opponent to pick their play.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow SteveMcQ!

Guys, get your Week 2 games in. Please PM me if you have a problem if you haven't already said so here. There are about 6 or 7 games to go, which is too many!

Thanks Guys,
Azumangaman

The Forgotten Man

Going into this afternoon's game between the Colts and the Vikings, all the attention was on the Vikings' all-world running back, Adrian Peterson, and with good reason, too. In his first year, the Oklahoma standout rushed for over 1,000 yards, 12 TDs and set the NFL's single game rushing record.

However, it was another back that stole the show as the spotlight shone brightly on his counterpart. Colts' RB Joseph Addai spoke softly during the week leading up to the game, but he let his game do the talking rushing for 176 yards and 4TDs Sunday afternoon, including two long TD runs. "The line did a great job of clearing lanes for me and Peyton got us into the right plays at the right time," said the Pro Bowl running back of the Colts.

"Well, we went into the game expecting to pass with the run-stuffing line the Vikings have," Peyton Manning added (9/10 passing, 129 yards, TD). "They started playing more dime though so I checked off to Addai and he did the rest."

Little attention was given to Addai, but that will surely not happen again with his breakout performance.

Not to be outdone, the Colts' defense--once highly critcized as the team's greatest weakness--picked off 3 Viking QBs 7 times, with 6 different players getting INTs. Two of those picks--DB Dante Hughes and LB Tyjuan Hagler--were taken back for TDs. They also did an outstanding job clogging up the running lanes for Adrian Peterson, holding the Vikings' running attack to 30 yards and a single TD.

"We did some good things today, but we have to make sure we carry it through next week. We had a disappointing outing last week so it was nice to get this one, especially on the road," Colts' coach Tony Dungy commented.

Next up for the Colts are division rivals the Jacksonville Jaguars in Lucas Oil Stadium.

Raiders - 3
Bills - 33

Bills D was just too much for Russell (0 TDs and 5 INTs). Bills wideouts did really good too, with Schouman getting 94 yds and 2 TD's.

God damn Vikings. Way to represent the NFC North. Bears looking like a favorite to take the division already!

No, that was Greg Bales's Week 2 game.
You still need to play him week 1, as well as your week 2 and week 3 games.
Sure. The Broncos owner, Frisky Tanuki, had to drop out, but I filled his spot with N8 in Jaggeds league.

Styler-Lets try Wednesday. I have been extremely busy @ the office and didnt really go on CAG all day except for a few minutes here and there on my blackberry.
Sweet, prizes!

Oh dear god i just realized I'm using the Patriots, DONT TAKE BRADY AWAY FROM ME!
We will be gone in the next update.

What are we doing about that anyway? Should he have to play Cassell or leave in Brady?

I am kinda on the fence about it. I mean, I am mean if Hester got hurt I would take him out of my game.

But I could go either way actually.

In MLB the show the rosters update automatically every week and if someone is on the DL they are completely unavailable to you. Is Madden going to update rosters throughout the season?

He should have to play Cassel. Same thing if anybody was injured for the season, be it McNabb, Manning (either one), Peterson, Tomlinson, etc.

Hey Azumangaman, would you mind officially changing the Broncos ownership to me in the OP? People are going to start thinking I'm crazy just taking them over or something, haha. I'd appreciate it :)

So I guess we vote on it?

I vote for playing cassell just because we are trying to emulate the real NFL.

It's understandable that we want to emulate the real Nfl, but if we are going to do that, then that means we would have to keep all players that are injured or not playing to be unavailable for xbox play just to be fair to Genghis. For instance, Merrimen, Vince Young, three of Jacksonville's OL, Etc.. So are we going to do it for only those players that are out for the whole year? Personally, I'm cool with whatever especially with me being the Bills. =)

This is a tough call for me. The thing is, Brady is obviously a game changing player, but where do we draw the line in regards to reflecting real life rosters? I mean, if an O-lineman is out for a couple games, but Madden's roster isn't up to date, are we going to expect him to be benched for the purpose of our league as well? Say the Rams lose Orlando Pace...are we really going to force pelf21 to bench him? If not, like I said, where do we draw the line?

Having run a league in MLB 08: The Show, it makes me appreciate their dedication to updating the rosters weekly. Without it, I don't know what we'd do. It feels like it would be overly tedious to make sure every real life injury/suspension is upheld manually. As much as I'd rather not have to face him, I almost think if EA doesn't update the roster to remove Brady, you've gotta let him play.

Uhhh I see what you mean. I would limit it to skill position though. Honestly...the line isnt that big of a deal but yes I think vince should be out.

Last time I checked I thought Merrimen was still playing?

But yeah I think if any QB,DB,LB,TE,WR gets injured which shouldnt play them.

Should shake some things up. Shouldnt be to hard because not everyone should be getting hurt.

Man really tough call.

Sorry, I couldn't disagree more. This is blatant favoritism. If you're disregarding the importance of the O-line, you just don't understand football. Teams like Minnesota or Oakland, who rely heavily on their running game, would be dead in the water without their starting O-line. I think it's gotta be all or nothing. You can't cherry pick your "important" positions.
Last time I checked I thought Merrimen was still playing?
Well then you didn't check out ESPN in the past hour. He's going to get the surgery.

I've got my game setup to be played tonight. I'll post the score later.

And I agree that if the QB's can't play, every player can't play. I vote for the "fuck realism" ballot and just play the game however EA has it. Injuries happen too often in the NFL, and there are too many players to keep every player off manually.

Yeah I am not underestimating the importance of a line...but following them is very tedious. And no matter what you think the line IN MADDEN means nothing. Every line plays about the same other than 2 or 3 teams. Pats, Colts, Bolts. So in my opinion it doesnt matter. Seriously have you ever really noticed a difference in lets say the Lions line and the the Rams in madden? No.

Just easier.

This is just down to how crappy EA's online is. They never help with anything and make doing things like online leagues such a chore.

Bah. I think its just better to leave it. I still vote for having players out to make people change tactics though.

This whole playing with Cassel for realism thing is dumb. If this is the case, I want to replay my week 3 game vs the Vikings IN WEEK 3, after I know for a fact Peterson is still healthy.

Yeah we might as well not even think about doing it because everyone will just bitch and moan about how they got cheated and stuff.

We are not close enough to make a general rule like that.

Well, singling out teams where lines make a difference, kind of proves my point (especially for SD whom I consider to be a ground based team...sorry Mr. Rivers). If those teams have lineman go down, but they're allowed to keep them because the position "doesn't matter", then those teams now have an unfair advantage.

Regardless, I think we're at the same conclusion that without regular updates from EA, keeping everybody's roster accurate would be too tedious. This is why I think you have to leave them.

Besides, another point is the fact that we're playing ahead in the schedule. What if a guy goes down, and we're already past that week in the schedule? (as NE already is) If we were using EA's flex schedule, that wouldn't even be an option because the games would be played all out of order anyway.

See, this is starting to make me go cross eyed, lol. Too many outside variables to worry about complete simulation. At the end of the day, it's still a video game. I've always looked at my seasons from the standpoint of "this is how it SHOULD play out". If we just replicate the entire season, why even play the games?

Yeah, see, there ya go! LOL...people keep making my points before me. I gotta learn to type less :wall:

But I have done this very same thing in other leagues without problem. Its just what type of league you are running. Like I said, none of the lines really matter in madden...they just dont. They rarely ever did its one of those things that EA never fixes.

But meh it doesnt really matter.

You guys are arguing over something pointless. None of you have a choice in the matter. Once EA puts out a roster update, we will all be forced to update in order to play online. Thus, no Tom Brady, nor whomever else may get injured.
