Man, I have trying to play for a while now. I hit the 5-1 mark and Azu and I couldnt connect for our second game.

I hope I dont get axed as you can clearly see I am in the topic at least once or twice a day. But I guess those be the breaks.

Either way, if its an odd number of people, your in 100% for sure, because your legit.

I've been flaky for the past few weeks and will be out tonight, but I can definitely play a couple games tomorrow, and I think I just need one more to qualify. I'll send out messages when I get on tomorrow afternoon.
 
Oh shit yeah we did play 2 games which puts me over the 7 game mark anyway. Nice.

Guys though, I have been saying this for months now...Nov 1st which was yesterday I started a 13 day gig in which all I do is work come home sleep then work some more. Which is why I am typing this at 4 45am because this is about the only time I have before I have to be at work again.

Of the 11 people qualified, I only have games with two of them. Which means the bulk of my games yet to be played are within my conference. The only guy in the AFC South I see frequently is neworldbush. I don't see the other two on. I'll send them a friend invite though. Just making an observation.
 
Hey Azu, Did u take into account the games I played using the seahawks, i'm at 6-7 games for sure, but its ok if i'm out. I've been trying to get games in, but no one ever wants to play, or they just don't talk to me on Live. I won't be able to make the 7 games, I'm not in town and have work tomorrow till 1030pm PST, so yea. Good luck with the tournament, if you end up needing someone, let me know.

Oh right. Thanks for the reminder. I'll add you to the list when I get home.I'm pretty sure that'll leave us at 12, which'll be great.
 
Azu - do you have the teams locked? I have PMs to Wanderlai and SteveMC to play tonight to bring all three of us up to 7 games...

Not sure what happened yesterday morning either, I looked into my router again and everything checks out...
 
Well, I'd like to stick with a deadline, but if the 3 of you can all get to 7 games by tonight, I'll throw Ultimate Matt X in (6 games) and it can be a 16 man tourney.

Well, shit. I guess I'm out since I've only completed 4. I've tried to play games, but it hasn't happened. Wanderlai contacted me about playing him, but I guess there's no point since that would only be 5 games for me. That, and 7 Eastern is in less than an hour.

Wanderlai, that was the greatest Madden game of all time. I hope you do a write up from your perspective, because this game should be one that's talked about for hours to come.

KC Chiefs - 24 over the NO Saints - 21

For the short story: I made the game winning field goal as time expired in overtime after driving a good distance down the field.

GameRecap: Wanderlai wins the coin toss and gets the ball first, and scores. I get the ball and score but miss an f-ing extra point because I suck at field goals that bad somehow. Second quarter: He scores and then near the end, I get the ball back and throw an interception that is returned about 35 yards for the touchdown. I get the ball back, and drove down the field, but the same player dropped two wide open balls for pretty big gains, one being on fourth down, so I turn the ball over and the half ends. I'm down 21 - 6. To start the 3rd quarter, I get the ball, and I hurdle (okay, the game did it for me) over a low tackle and cut to the left side to take it in for a 92 yd kickoff return for a touchdown. I go for two, and the same guy that dropped two balls earlier makes the catch and puts me down by 7. I got the ball back at some point during the 4th quarter, and got a giant 40 yard touchdown from my tight end, Gonzalez. The game is now tied 21 to 21. The Saints get the ball back, and run the ball on my ass, but I then get a sack and a run stop to drive them back for a long field goal attempt, which was well short and wide left. "We're heading to overtime."

OT: He wins the coin flip and gets the ball, but I force him to punt after a couple minutes went by. He then punts it, but his guy bumps into my punt returner after I called a fair catch, so I get to start with the ball on my own 45 instead of 30. I drive down the field, and I get several key plays, including a 23 yard pass on 3rd down until I settle in for my 35-40 yard field goal. I get just enough leg on the ball to win as the time expires, avoiding the the game ending in a tie.

Great game, and sorry for making this so long. It was the best Madden Moment I've ever had.

I can't, but I counted 2 of our games. If you played 5 before counting those 2 games (I thought you were only at 3) then you have 7. I need to see the games you've played though.

Most likely. I think its fair (especially for you and those who joined late) because who wants to be the Jets, Seahawks and Rams?
I might even consider changing teams. Playing with the Vikings in Madden is so incredibly painful. I'd like to have some chance of winning.
Since its going to be a completely different branch from this league (records will help decide seeds, but thats it) I really think its fair to change teams.

I'm going to wait until we have 16 teams to make a decision.


IMPORTANT:
Does anybody know how the hell to organize a double elimination tournament with 16 people? I have no idea how to work that.

Can I make the argument for less is more? 16 is pretty easy to setup a tournament for and is quite a lot of people. It's hard enough to find people that are dedicated without bringing in several people that STILL don't even have 7 games.
 
Ok, so the tournament is going to be random. I hope thats ok. I don't have too much time nowadays, so that'll have to do.
There is a list of teams that can be taken in the OP. I'm thinking of taking one of them, because the Vikings just aren't fun to play as in Madden. Its depressing.
I'm going to put up the Round 1 matches right now.
