Madden 10 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE (Tournament)- LOTS OF TEAMS AVAILABLE!

I'd like to give the Vikings a chance to setup something with the Giants. Also Rames any luck reaching the Chargers to setup a game? I think me and Matt are playing tonight or tomorrow, and there's a couple vs CPU games that look like they'll be played soon.

Sooo advance Tuesday night? No specific time, prob late so ppl can get games in that night too.
 
I just got in and settled, looks like the Vikings haven't replied back yet. I guess right now I'm just waiting for him to reply back here and see if there's any update?
 
I don't have an aim account but i sent him an xbl request and a message about when i could play so we will have to see....

Then Azu vs the CPU.

Like I said a couple posts ago, Tuesday night seems like the best bet for advancing us.
 
Looks like it's You and I next week Adam, I'm available pretty much any time so let me know your availability. Man I really am starting to regret missing that single game vs Matt Young. If I'd not missed it, chances are I probably would've won. I would've been tied with you Ubernes at 9 and 1. No Disrespect to anyone here but I just don't see you losing more than 1 or 2 Games at Max, Knowing from Experience against you. The only one I could honestly see you losing would be against Minnesota and if I give you a game in the 17th Week. As far as myself I've got a tough schedule down the stretch, vs Miami, vs Baltimore, vs Minnesota, @ Bills, @ Jets. Even if I were to beat you Ubernes I'd be 5-1 in the Division and You'd be 5-1 Also I think? We'd be 1-1 in H2H, So I think it'd go by Conference Record then? So I guess it could go either way I suppose. So I've got a lot riding on the next few weeks. Yikes I'm looking at the #4 Seed, AFC is damn good in this league just like in real life. Hopefully I can improve to the #2 Seed. Tough league, I'm happy Matt told me about this league, I've ALWAYS tried to start my own league and I've gotten great Signup numbers but it never lasts more than a few weeks. It's nice to have been in a full working league.

Sadly, as I recently learned myself the ONLY tiebreaker is alphabetical. So you need to finish a game AHEAD of him to win the division. If you think it's bad for you, I'm in even worse shape since the Titans are the last team alphabetically in the AFC.

Consequently I'm also looking at a situation where I could go 15-1 and be the 3 seed, so I need either the Jets or Ravens to lose again (even though in the NFL I believe I'd currently hold the tie-breakers over both) and to not lose myself.

Oh and Azu, when are you gonna do power rankings again my man? :D
 
Jesus that's the most major inconvenience ever lol. So I'll be 3 Seed at Best if I tie with the Chargers/Ravens and Yourself. It'd be #1 Jets, #2 Chargers, #3 Patriots, #4 Ravens and #5 Titans. I believe so, Right?
 
Well, if all of us tied you'd still be the 5 since the division winners would still be 3 and 4. So basically to get a bye you need to win all of your remaining games, hope that me and the Chargers (assuming he still has only 2 losses, I haven't checked) lose once more, and that either the Jets or Ravens lose twice.

Given the talent in the AFC like you said, it looks pretty tough. I have no games against AFC contenders left (the only one I had was the Chargers, who I beat) so i just have to hold serve and hope for the best.

Edit: Both the Jets and Chargers have human opponents this week, so it might be an opportunity to gain some ground.
 
The AFC is INTENSE! Don't forget with all these 1 and 2 loss teams, there's also Azu who is no slouch and should nab the the remaining playoff spot. The AFC playoffs as of today would be:

1. Jets (bye) [Packers, Lions, Bengals, Vikings, Pats]
2. Ravens (bye) [Saints, Pats]
3. Titans [Eagles, Cowboys] vs 6. Bengals [Jets, Fins]
4. Chargers [Niners] vs 5. Pats [Fins, Vikings, Ravens, Jets]

[ ] = h2h games left

The Chargers could move up quickly if they end up with more ties with the C name being a big advantage being able to win a tiebreaker against any team.

PS: Chargers/Niners game is happening soon, I'm told. And I should get in my game with the Packers tonight around 11pm EST, so if both games go as planned then we'll be able to advance around midnight tonight.

edit: ouch, just added h2h games left...it's not going to be easy for me to keep that #1 spot.
 
Yeah, I'll be getting on within 5 minutes of the Lakers game ending. It will probably end at 10 till 11 or so unless it goes to overtime, or it's a close game and there are a billion fouls in the last 3 minutes.

Damn, you do have a tough bunch of games. All I can do is win my remaining games and hope either your or the Ravens lose. Since homefield doesn't matter in Madden, it's really all about who you play. I'm hoping for a matchup with the Chargers since I already know I beat him once. The rest of you, who knows. :D
 
Damn. Matt & I just had a game for the ages. Poor Kellen Clemens looked silly out there when he had to get rid of the ball quickly. Thank god my last week of him should be next week vs the CPU. I don't think I can take him again haha.

The turning point of the game had to be when it was tied up with under 2 minutes remaining. Matt just scored on a lob pass to Jennings (I believe) over 2 of my defenders. I had plenty of time, ready to drive. First or second play Clemens either over or under throws a ball and one of his CBs picks it up right before it hits the dirt. Little over a minute remaining, he has the ball in my territory, maybe my 30-35. His first or second play Grant fumbles the ball on a run up the gut and I recover. I was screaming at this point, haha.

I didn't trust Clemens to go deep so I threw a screen to Edwards, who proceeded to break 2, 3 tackles and almost take it to the house, but was tripped up. I'm more or less in FG range at this point with 30 seconds remaining but the wind is blowing a bit in my face. I forget exactly how I got 10 or so yards closer, a run then maybe a play-action, either way. I took a knee with 20 seconds left because I didn't want to have a fumble of my own and kicked it in with time expiring. Great ending to a great game.
 
PS: Niners and Chargers are set for 5pm EST tomorrow (Tues) and we'll advance immediately after.

Rames, let me know if there's a problem with that time for some reason.
 
Indeed. That was the most fun I've had in any game of Madden 10.

I went up 10-0 to start, but after that first TD made it 10-0, ubernes returned a kick 101 yards for the score. He tied it with a field goal, and then took the lead with a touchdown, making it 17-10. I tied it on that 20-something yard pass to Jennings, but as ubernes said, he kept driving down the field.

I have no idea how I intercepted that pass near the end, but I had to run it once or twice to get within comfortable FG range. Then ubernes, master of the hit stick, caused me to fumble. It's good that I don't use the headset anymore in Madden, because I unleashed about 47 fucks after that. I think Edwards actually broke more like 4-5 tackles... it was insane.

That red zone interception really hurt me, as I was pretty much guaranteed to get 3 out of that drive at least. Turnovers have largely contributed to my downfall.

The worst thing is, I'm 5-6. My last 3 games versus human opponents, I've lost by 4, 4, and 3. One play in each game could have changed things drastically and I could have been 8-3 now. I'm glad I'm competitive now after a few blowout losses, but those close ones are hard to take.

Great game, ubernes. It was a pleasure playing with you. We can play a friendly game of Madden sometime, or Tecmo Bowl if you want.

Yeah, I was wiping my brow a bit after that one haha. It was as we were going into the half too, so I was just hoping to just keep you to 3 but that pick made a big difference in the long run. I would've had to go for the TD at the end there, assuming everything else played out the same.

We'll have to get a friendly game in soon. Maybe next time we both have vs CPU games, though I think I may only have one of those left haha.
 
Sounds good. Don't know if you ever use the headset, but the only reason I didn't use it is because it was a league game, and I need as few distractions as possible during those.

Oh, and even though you anticipated it, I apologize for going for it on 4th and 1 that first time (4th quarter, it was imperative). I complained about MasterAwesome doing that a couple weeks ago. But since it was established that it was acceptable, I figured I'd try it.
 
Me and you are up again this coming week Matt, so when is a good time for you to play? Can you play sometime tomorrow night after we advance? I have summer classes and have to be up at 8 a.m. every day so I can't play too late (I know you're Pacific time), but anytime before midnight Eastern time is optimal for me. I can be a little lenient if you're busy though, just let me know what you wanna do. Of course we don't have to play tomorrow either. I'm planning on buying Red Dead Redemption and Alan Wake both tomorrow, so I'm pretty confident I'll be able to entertain myself until you're available to play.
 
I'm definitely not busy, but I've been keeping a nocturnal schedule lately, albeit not intentionally. I have really bad sleeping problems, so sometimes I'm up for about 40 hours straight, but when I sleep, It's often from noon-8 Eastern or so. I'll PM you tomorrow if I can play. What time do you get home from classes? If I don't sleep, I'll play you early (if you're available).
 
Alright sounds good. I'm exactly the same way in my sleeping schedule, but summer school kinda ruins it for me. I get back from classes around 3 p.m. EST so I'll be able to play as soon as we advance if that works for you (I guess around 6 EST?). Let me know if you decide you wanna play or not. If I don't hear from you I'll just assume you went to sleep and we'll just schedule it for some other time...so don't feel obligated to play if you're tired.

MasterAwesome, I'm pretty sure I'll be falling asleep soon- thank God- but there's a good chance we could get the game in tonight after I wake up, unless you're playing RDR and/or Alan Wake. If i were me, I'd definitely put a Madden game on hold for a big new release (or 2), but still, I'll check to see if you're on when I get on, and if I see you, I'll send a message. If not, we can definitely do tomorrow.

All within the course of 1:05 and without a time out. On the second interception, I was tackled with exactly one second left in the game.

I had 3 fumbles lost...all inside the 20, I figure those would do me in. But Alex Smith did his best Joe Montana impersonation and the 9ers got it done...

Definitely the best game of Madden that I have ever experienced...:applause:

Yeah, I just played terribly to be honest, nothing more than that. DeAngelo Williams hit a seam on a toss play and was untouched on his 70 yard touchdown since I don't have anyone that can catch up to his speed. Then I foolishly threw two INTs that got returned for touchdowns.

Thankfully I settled down somewhat and managed to pull it out, but it wasn't pretty.
 
Alright Matt I just got done playing literally 5 hours straight of Red Dead so I'm pretty much done with the Xbox for a while (at least until you wake up). What I'm trying to say is you probably won't find me online tonight on my own, so if you could just post or something whenever you wake up (if you wanna play), I'll do my best to check this site obsessively. I'm headed out to grab a bite to eat, so I won't be checking for about another 30 minutes or so in case you happen to wake up right after I post this.

And just so you know...as excited I am about these games I just bought today, there's still nothing I look forward to more than franchise Madden games with other people. I get really excited when my game is coming up even if I get crushed. I played a couple seasons with my roommates and each game was just as exciting as the one before. So even though I just got two new games today, I'd gladly set them aside whenever you wanna play our game.

Be warned that you can't access all features for Gold with a 48 hour trial. I'm not sure about Madden, but on Halo, you can't play ranked games; only social. That shouldn't make a difference (hopefully) since league games aren't ranked.

MasterAwesome, I slept past the time you said you're normally on. I can play pretty much whenever tomorrow. Just name a time.

Lol yeah I'm usually in bed by midnight but I went back to playing some more RDR just in case you wanted to play our Madden tonight, but it's all good, tomorrow is fine. How about 4:00 EST? I'm trying to schedule it as soon as possible after I get home from class in case you're planning on going to sleep early again, so let me know if that time is okay with you.
 
I've not tried it yet, but Since I'm looking to trade I was on the Online Franchise Site. I haven't seen anything in the rules about it that prohibits. Can we Trade Players to the CPU? I'm talking like Legit Trades not Robbing the CPU. I'd be Offering Maroney Who's an 81 and at least a 75 Overall to go along with him.
 
I propose that any trade with the CPU have a majority of the owner's approval. Anyone interested in trading with the CPU would make a proposal on the forum and we would all weigh in...if approved, ubernes makes the appropriate adjustments to each roster...
