Madden 10 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE (Tournament)- LOTS OF TEAMS AVAILABLE!
Meh. 10 days just for a week? Once again, in reality we'd be finishing ONE season right when the real NFL season ends. I don't know about you, but the real fun in franchise mode is during the offseason with all the player movement. We should do two games a week and sim the unfinished games every 3-4 days. That way we can at least get 2-3 seasons within the real NFL season.

Still need to establish free agency rules. I'm just looking at random leagues on OS to get a gist of how people are establishing their league rules. =p
Like I said, 10 days could be shortened... but like many people here.. I work all day and go to school at night so you could see where 7-10 days might be necessary.

I don't see us taking as long as the regular NFL-season... whoever is holding things up can easily be replaced as we have a fair amount of people on the waiting list. With that being said, there is absolutely no reason to rush things either.
So who didn't check in before noon today?
i didnt check in... i still would like to be in, but the game night times arent great for me. i dont get home from work until 10pm est, and the sunday time will cut into my actual football watching. as long as the league doesnt mind me playing my games exclusively on thursdays or slightly later than the times in the OP, then id still like to play.

I dont know I am on the fence with Shin. I am one of those guys who gets really busy rather quickly so I can understand the need for some time to actually get games in. We should all be aware that most of us have jobs/family/school.

BUT

On the other hand I really would love for us to be able to get 2 or 3 seasons in before the real NFL season ends. It took us the entire NFL season last year and we had every single hang up that you can think off. Players dropping, xbox breaking, etc but with this new and improve online franchise mode 90% of everything is handled for us there really should be no reason for us not get through the season.

Thats why suggested a game night...I am not for making it mandatory, maybe STRONGLY URGED. I think the main thing is for everyone to understand that we all have commitment else where but still need to put in some level of effort to this league. The games wont take that long to play and if you have to delay going out with your friends for a half hour you need to do so.

I think 10 days is way to long, there should be no reason why you cant set aside a half hour to play a game.

It'd be great if we had a 1 week deadline to complete each game, but had flex scheduling available so those of us with more time could play multiple games in one week if desired.
i didnt check in... i still would like to be in, but the game night times arent great for me. i dont get home from work until 10pm est, and the sunday time will cut into my actual football watching. as long as the league doesnt mind me playing my games exclusively on Thursdays or slightly later than the times in the OP, then id still like to play.
The game nights are a strong suggestion not a must. They are there so most of us can be in one spot at the same time. I wouldnt mind if you only played on Thursdays...but you would have to put forth the extra effort to make sure you played every Thursday.

Hell I dont know...I guess we just have to wait and see how this goes.

EDIT: I agree Matt but I am pretty sure they didnt even include that option this year. It just boils down to people just making the slight extra effort to get games in on a some what consistent level. It starts by admitting you are simple too busy to join the league. If you can only play one or two days a week I think thats fine but you better make sure you are there every single time so we are not waiting on you.
...there should be no reason why you cant set aside a half hour to play a game.
Provided your opponent has setup their subs and audibles before joining the game to prevent it taking longer.

yeah flex scheduling is not enabled, and I am glad it isn't... having a regular schedule makes things "more realistic."

I think that's why we should have a limit of 7-10 days to complete games and a warning system where you'll get fired after 2 or 3 warnings.

Just because the limit of 7-10 days is there that doesn't mean everyone should wait that long to complete the game and if someone doesn't take 7-10 days each time but is at 6, obviously the commisioner can decide what to do there. I think having a penalty system where you'll get kicked out if you don't play in a certian time will force people to play and get games done in time and if you can't do that you're out simple as that.
Provided your opponent has setup their subs and audibles before joining the game to prevent it taking longer.
How many people actually make a ton of subs during each game? I have been playing madden for a long time and it has to be less than 5 times that someone making subs actually took longer than 10-20 seconds.

The only time anyone would ever take longer than that is if they are a cheater or a sim nazi.

I think it'll take almost as long. Let's assume we skip preseason and we start midweek next week (19th). Counting 17 weeks from then, we'll finish the regular season by the second week of December (or third week if we count off Thanksgiving week). Then we have the postseason, which can either be rushed or also given the weekly treatment and we'll end up in January. I think that's pretty close to the end of an NFL season, when all the football hype will die down.

Which is why we should do two games a week. If you can't make it due to work/school/whatever, then your game will be simmed. Easy as that. I just want to make it to the offseason in a reasonable amount of time. =p

Don't worry about the game times. They're just suggestions, you can play any time you'd like.
I'd love to do 2 games a week, but I think starting with 1 a week to weed out the bad seeds and move ahead with remaining players.

NO MORE THAN 7 DAYS. I can't stress that enough.

So if RAMSTORIA is still in, these are the ones who missed the deadline:

20) Mr Grand Cru/Mr Grand Cru - Carolina Panthers
22) itlnstln/ HotitlnStln - Detroit Lions

right on, then yeah ill be sticking around.

WOW, just 2? I thought it was a lot more.
If somebody wants to do me a huge favour and PM them asking them if they are still in (I'd count on ItlnStln...). If they don't respond in 12hrs, pitfall and ivan, welcome aboard :)

so the first week of games, will the deadline start on release day, or will we be waiting a week or so after before starting? just curious. ill be taking advantage of the TRU on launch i believe, its the best one ive seen yet.

I really hope we do two games a week after the first week. I don't want to do online franchise only to barely finish one season. It's like, what was the point then if we're not gonna actual use the features of online franchise? =p

And the deadline shouldn't be on release day. I ordered online so, yeah. That, and I'm sure some of us would like to brush up or be familiar with the game first. =]

I dont know where I just got this link from (somewhere in one of the 2 threads) the 2nd video is suppose to show off the new QB styles for each player.

Someone else take a look at it because I have watched it about 4 times and I seriously can not tell the difference between 90% of them. I see 2 different ways in which the QB stand but not in how they throw or look in the pocket.

I didnt see a single side armed throw nor a gunslinger throw. What exactly am I suppose to be looking for in these.

I think other than the first week it would be good to play two games a week with one game needing done Monday - Thursday and the other Friday - Sunday. The first week could go from the release date on Friday until the following Thursday though.

We aren't doing pre-season games are we? That seems like a waste of time.

One game a week to start is fine with me, but I think two games a week needs to have a longer time frame. For example Matt's example above, Friday & Saturday are quite busy days for me, and Sunday I'll be watching football all day. I would only have a short time before the first Sunday games to play my game for the "2nd week". However, if we made each one of our league's weeks 4-5 days, you would have 4-5 days to play your game that week and then another 4-5 days to play the following week. Granted your weeks wouldn't be on set days (Sun-Thurs every week for example) but we would still be on a much quicker pace then the actual NFL season. Just a suggestion.

Yeah, the more I think about it the more I want us to go faster than the real NFL.

I can not stress enough the importance of having a official game night time that people actually put in effort to get to. Its the only way to keep the season moving ago at a consistent pace.

It doesnt even have to be a certain day, it can just be a time frame. If we made Madden times for EST 8pm - 11pm people would just have to pop in during that frame and see if their opponent is on.

it's already official. Just check the OP.

Madden League Game Nights! :)
Tuesdays @ 9PM EST
Thursdays @ 10 PM EST
Sundays @ 5 PM EST

It's been 12 hours since this post. I'll gladly take the Carolina Panthers(the only team that hasn't responded).
Cmart, what I am looking for is people from the thread to actually say they are going to be there at those times which no one has really given thought to.

You can post whatever random times you want but unless there is some sort of agreement between all of us to get to those times they mean nothing.
1)I really don't understand what's so hard about this. There will never be an agreement between all of us to agree on a set time and day it is just impossible being that everyone is on entirely different schedules and time zones hence why there are three different game-nights and times available.

2) These are not random times, they are "official" the commish posted them not me. No one is expected to be there on those days and times but it is encouraged.

Tues/Thurs should be fine with me, but Sunday will be iffy. Best time Sunday would be between the 4pm EST games and Sunday Night Football (8pm? or is it 9pm?). Sunday at 7pm EST would work.

Cmart you are not understanding me/ I am not explain what I am talking about correctly.

So.......stalemate? We both loose!

He was given extra time to respond and has been on the forums since the check-in was announced on 8/8. From his status page, "Last Activity: Yesterday 08:10 AM".

As I said before, I can do Thursdays. Sundays, it depends on which games are on and if there's a wrestling pay-per-view. I watch all the wrestling PPVs. Those end at 8 Pacific time, though.

Its up to Azumangaman. Everyone needs to communicate, especially when the OP and title have changed. Further you've been logging in since the 8th (when check-in started) and decide to respond today?

He may be telling the truth, but if he really has been logging on since the post went up(I can't tell) then we might want to replace him. I also would be concerned about someone who's only been part of this forum for a month a team.

I don't argue he may have been on vacation. He was checking CAG, so not responding to a deadline is not a good way to start.

*THE LEAGUE REMAINS FULL.
Sorry pitfall/ivan, your time will come soon :)
I would never be able to make a Sunday game night (I watch football from 1-11) so I'd personally try for Tuesday/Thursday.

I'll be setting up the league Friday night (I work till 4:30) then I'd say we start the schedule on Tuesday/Wednesday so everybody has the opportunity to start because some people are getting the games online etc.

i apologize for not posting more fellas it wont happen again i know im new on this website but im not new on xbox live and i plan on playing and being there for all my games, next time ill let a fellow member on here know if im not gonna be around just in case there are any more check ins

If anyone's gonna start an alternate league, I'm in :p I won't have my system back until hopefully soon after the game releases... I preordered it right before I got RROD'd.

I'd be willing to start another league with longer minute times and two games a week, if anyone would be interested. We would need more dedicated people and what not, but we can make it work. Of course, settings are really on the table-- those two things were just my suggestions.

I am pretty sure that you can't do flex scheduling anyway, I was watching a video with the designers and they said they didn't want to do it. My two cents is that we play at least one game a week, not the 7-10 day thing. I am all for playing two games in a week. Like someone else said the fun part is between season and starting again so I would like to get in a few years in our dynasty before the nfl season is over.
Yeah don't count on me playing any Sunday games either.
Me either, I'm getting Sunday Ticket this year and for the amount of money I paid I sure as shit will be watching football. The other nights work well though.

Man, I wish I could afford Sunday Ticket so I could watch my Packers rather than the Raiders (only 4 Packers games on national TV). The Chargers are fun to watch, at least. We also get like 10-12 Cowboys games since they're the favorite of every Mexican person who isn't a raiders fan (only a few Chargers fans around here). I just can't spare the $200+.

EDIT: Review's out:

I am picking mine up at midnight at gamestop, although I am not going to that pre release thing.

Also, the website is live (from what I heard) and since you can do everything from the website maybe you want to start sending invites Azu. Lets get this league rolling because I want to at least win 2 more superbowls this year.

I'm not going to start a huge league, but a little ways into the season after I see how people dedicate themselves here I would like to get maybe a 6-10 man league going that will play games every couple of days or so.
