I don't want to go into too much detail, but I do feel like I owe you an explanation. This afternoon, I received a call from an FBI agent who is assigned to the case of my sister, who went missing in July of 2005. The agent, along with a local police officer, came over to question me regarding any details I might remember about the day she disappeared, as well as to show me photos of various individuals who may be considered suspects.

Okay, so that was a bit detailed... but I just wanted to get across the fact that I didn't just bail on you for no reason. By the time things wrapped up, it was about 10:30 Eastern time. You weren't on Live (not that you were supposed to be) so I was unable to ask if you still wanted to play. Not your fault, of course.

Please let me know if and when you can play tomorrow. Ubernes, as long as CharCoal is able, do you mind letting us get our game in before advancing? I apologize for any inconvenience that I may have caused for my opponent or the advancement schedule.
 
I have no problem waiting until midnight tonight if your game is going to happen late (both of them). If there's no way it can be done tonight and everyone involved can confirm an official time for tomorrow, I don't even mind waiting another day. But I'd rather not push it back if it turns into a "we'll try again tomorrow" thing with no definite chance of happening. Sound fair?
 
Got destroyed by Venom thanks to three ridiculous Defensive touchdowns thrown by Carson Palmer, who is apparently incapable of throwing the ball IN THE AIR.
My leading receiver Andre Caldwell is also out for 11 weeks.

He's been away for 20 minutes now, so I'm not sure what is going on. I will wait a little while longer since it's my fault we have to play tonight in the first place, but I do have to play Venom in the other Madden league soon. If it gets to be too long, I will likely just do that and hope CharCoal/getawhale is able to come back and play afterward.
 
Venom is on and CharCoal/getawhale is still away. I'm going to play Venom in about 5 minutes for the other league. I messaged getawhale and asked him to let me know when he gets back.

Ubernes, before you advance if you could put Matt and my trade through (told me both games had to be played before I could accept the trade) that would be great. If it doesn't let you, we can let you know who was involved and you can go the add/remove players route if thats all right.
 
Um... yeah. I sent CharCoal/getawhale that message back then. He just got back on 10 minutes ago, and didn't respond to my message at all. he just started playing Modern Warfare 2. I am appearing offline, but I told him in the message that I would be, and to message me anyway.

So... what should I do?

He finally sent me a message while I was nearing the end of my game for my other league, saying, "Hello?". But when I went to check it, he had signed off.

Not sure what to do. I'd rather not play the CPU, if possible, because I did have to cancel on him last night. But I don't know what happened with him tonight.
 
Texans messaged me back, apparently he got bent out of shape about his game being simmed so he left the league. Guess that solves my time crunch for Week 7.

When are we currently planning to advance? Now that I'm playing the CPU I want to get my game in tonight if possible since I'll be indisposed all weekend.

Haha the Colts seemed to have done the same. I'll be sure to keep that in mind for Madden 11. If you can't play vs the CPU in 4-5 days and then give up on the other 15 games because of it, you're not worth the leagues time.

I'm sure the fact that he couldn't win a game with one of the best teams in the NFL influenced his decision as well. I actually had a rougher time with the CPU Colts than it looked like he would have given me.

As a result of these developments, I'm now in a division all by my lonesome. Oh well. :D

So Matt, what do you think of just letting the sim gods decide this one? Since you blew it on Monday and he blew yesterday, we can just sim it at 9pm EST if nothing is setup by then. Fair?
 
So I dunno what to do here, I don't feel good about booting Charcoal to get this game played but we really need to advance tonight.

Hmmm, it won't let me advance us. I tried to do it and it sort of glitched back out of it and then when I tried again it said 'wait until 30 mins before advancing again'. Anyone want to be temp commish and try to advance us?

i did realize after the fact that my FG at the end was kind of a prick move but whatever, sorry. don't play albear (Chargers) because he goes for it on 4th down every time

So I guess NY QBs can't stay healthy. Sanchez out for 7 weeks. :(

I'm guessing that means he's back for week 14, so at least the last 4 games I have which are all h2h I get him back, but damnnn. But Packers, Steelers, Pats (the first time) and the Chiefs all get to see Mr. Clemens in action. Good thing I didn't trade him.

The Bills were a huge pain in the ass for me besides this too. 14-13 at the half.
 
vikings owner when you available? I'm om Alaskan time so it can be tricky. i can do it starting at 9 eastern tomorrow but I do have Friday off and can do it all day then
 
Won convincingly 52-10, though I'm surprised I didn't give up more the way Schaub was throwing all over me most of the game. I switched it up on offense and let Young do the heavy lifting (if 20 throws can be considered heavy lifting).

My rookies are really contributing, my WR is near the league lead in TDs, and my rookie returner leads the league in both Return Yards (44.5 yards/return) and TDs (3, on 18 returns, which means 1 in 6 is being taken to the house)

Well, I finally gave up my first touchdown of the season...kind of. Colt Brennan got popped right as he was about to pass, Gary Brackett grabbed the wobbly duck and took it back for a TD. My defense still hasn't allowed a TD yet though.

That Colts team is STACKED. I had a legitimately tough time against them, to the point that I was actually down at the half, but managed to pull it out in the end.

Mr. Brennan, I salute your efforts and your ability to execute a conservative gameplan. The team went 5-0 under your watch...NOW GRAB YOUR CLIPBOARD AND GET BACK ON THE BENCH. Eli's back next week.
