Madden 10 "The Replacements" The Ingural Season, completed!

I'm winding down for tonight pretty soon and plan to hit town for chores tomorrow. Sometime later that night should work (not sure when I'll be home. No later than 9 though). Otherwise, anytime Wednesday works as long as I'm awake. On EST time.

Wow thats awesome. I have had a lot of kicker tackles but never a TD by a kicker.
 
I wouldn't mind taking the Seahawks if it's possible to expand the league. The other league is moving a bit slower than I imagined so I'm looking to join another one.
 
Just beat the Buccs 44-20 but it was very tough in the early goings. Buccs scored 2 FG in the first and 2 touchdowns in the second where as I could only muster 9 points through both QRTs. The Buccs run defense is strong and brian urlacher is a fucking monster. I couldnt run anywhere without him being right on top of me. Too bad their passing defense isnt the same Bulger smoked them.

How does this work? The only thing it will let me do is invite him to a game. I don't see the option to play against the CPU.

Season is almost half way over and the real NFL season hasnt even started. I would like to take this time to thank Seen for a excellent job at being the commish and setting everything up. The league is going pretty good and we havent had any problems to speak of.

The only way to play against the CPU is if the other player leaves the league. If seen kicks the person, they are permanently kicked (banned) and cannot rejoin the league. Basically the only way to go about it is to have the other person manually leave the franchise.

EA really fucked up and gave the commissioners virtually no useful tools to run the league.

You sure? While I haven't actually tried it myself, I remember once hitting the invite user button when my opponent happened to be online and it took me to the matchup screen where I could have changed my playbook / uniforms / etc. I didn't hit start after that and backed out instead so don't if it would've let me, but I dunno.

It won't let you. Would be sort of crazy if they allowed you to.
 
Soodmeg thanks for your support. Anymore "league reports" on the way?

Most of all, this league also has been running well because everyone has been communicating with their opponents when needed and getting their games played.

As BigAt mentioned EA really screwed the "admin" part of being a commissioner up. I should be able to sim or just assign a win/loss. I do have the ability to make roster changes league wide and advance the week but other than that there is no customization available which is poor design.

First off My Opponent did not try to contact me he sent me a Friend Request and I did not know that was my opponent that sent me that. I am Not Joking I get at Least 2 friend invites every week from random people, So I do not just accept them. Once I found out that is why he sent me a friend invite I accepted it and messaged him about when we can play.

2nd and more importantly I do not need to be treated like a little kid, This league is not do or die for me. You sent me TWO messages within TWO MINUTES on xbox. For the love of god MAYBE, JUST MAYBE I might want to play GH5 yesterday seeing it just came out. But i guess that is too much to ask seeing as I could not get though ONE song without getting 2 messages from you. One at 7:41pm Saying "I see your opponent is online, when are you guys playing your game?" and then one at 7:43 Saying "When will you play Galego23; he said he's tried to send you a friend request."

This hurry and get your game done in like one day is getting out of hand. We Need to set 2 times during the week that the week advances. Then everyone knows the week changes on Saturday Midnight and like Wednesday at midnight. Then people can enjoy there time and can plan head. They way it is now I can NOT get with my opponent and plan to play in 2 days because you are ready to skip to the next week too fast. We need set times so you can say "Can you play Thursday at 5?"
 
I'm sorry you feel I do not leave enough time for you to play your games. When I started this league I mentioned I wanted to keep things moving and not wait for people who procrastinate to play their games and no one else has mentioned any issues. I'm not accusing you of any of the latter, just pointing out how it's been running since week 1.

My Problem is not enough time it is the Randomness of when you want to skip ahead. You leave no opportunity to schedule a game with a opponent. If there was set times then we can work on a day and time and if that does not work we would have 3 days to find a time that does. People work, have company over and just have plain stuff to do around the house so only getting 24 to 72 hours picked at random. Does not work for everyone.

Again you are losing touch with what I have said from day 1 was that I want to keep things moving. Further you are one of the last games left to be played so of course as the commissioner of the league I'm going to encourage you to play it asap.

I stated in my other post what was wrong. You do not need to send me a message that he is on, and then TWO minutes tell me again. Then come on here and ask what my problem is because i don't want to type you a message using the guitar to tell you i am busy. and just because it says I am on does not mean I can play madden. Should I tell my friends that are over to just sit there and watch me play madden cause my opponent is on. and as far as a consensus people have said it is going fast and others have had games skipped already Not everyone has had to play a human too. playing the cpu takes 30 mins whenever you want. Humans have different lives and different times they can play xbox. Perfect example is that my opponent can not play until late today, and I could play right now, and depending on what time he can play we might not get to play today either. It is not either of our faults that things outside of Xbox is not letting us play and meet at the same time.

Just for the record I do not care how fast it goes. You could skip a week everyday and that is fine with me, I just want it a Set time period so we all have a time period in which you know you have to find time with your opponent to play the game. Doesn't matter to me if the time frame is 1 day or a whole week. Just a set time frame. Or keep it the same I don't care just don't message me every two minutes about playing the game, It will get done when we have time for it, and if it does not fit in the time frame it gets skipped. Not asking for more time, Just don't bug me about it when i am busy doing something else.

If you were busy all you had to say was you were busy but that "you guys are being too hardcore humans have lives," is straight bullshit. No one is demanding that you spend all your time on the madden league all he was asking for was why you ignored both him and your opponent all you had to do was spend 15 seconds and send him a message that you were busy. If you guys set up a time to play in the near future all you had to say was, cant play until Thursday.

Static Puff, if I set an actual date it really won't do much good since people either want to play their game or just don't care. I use a variable schedule time frame because it gives people a chance to plan with each other.

As Soodmeg said, I'm not picking on anyone, I happen to look on XBL and notice 2 people who have a game both are online so I mention it. I have left the scheduling up to all the participants without requiring check-ins, so if I don't hear from you I can only assume you aren't interested in playing that week.

I understand where you are coming from but He sent me 2 messages 2 minutes apart I did not even get to finish my song in GH5. I don't care about the first message but when some sends you a 2nd one 2 minutes later wondering why you did nothing about the first one is out of hand. and it makes it sound like you better stop whatever your doing and take care of this now! ! ! He gave me 2 minutes to type on a fucking guitar controller WTF and i did write him a message saying i was busy, But he Still comes on here and asked me what is my problem? Please read my original post if you think i am here complaining because he just informed me that i had a game.

If it was just the first message i would have been like thanks for letting me know, but like i said above, me taking more then 2 minutes to write back to you is the problem then on top of it you came on here saying that i have a problem because i was busy and could not play even though my opponent was on. Look at my history i have no problem getting my games in I do not care about that, I can get them in.

Look, we've almost been chatting about this for about a page and I'm not really sure what kind of point you are trying to make. I appreciate your dedication to the league but if you really have such a big issue with how I've been running this since week 1, this league might not be for you.

The problem is you expect someone to write you back in less then 2 minutes or you will send them another message and come on here and try to call them out like they don't give a fuck. I told you on xbox I was busy then you still came on here and Still Complained about me not playing. But whatever it is done with like you said this is already one page of this crap lets both let go and move on.
 
I must be missing your point Static and dont think that I am trying to write you off. But I am not understanding the big deal about 2 XBL messages. Its not like Seen kicks your door open and demands you play now.

Maybe its less about the messages and more about you thinking Seen called you out like you didnt care. I am sure seen didnt mean it that way I as a member didnt think he meant it that way either.

I think its just a misunderstanding by the two of you. Thats all I have to say about it.
 
Guys. I have some unfortunate news. I think I am going to have to drop out of the league. I really, really hate to do this to you. I had no intention of this when I signed up. I was really excited about playing Madden but something has came up. Best Buy ran a pretty crazy deal on hdtvs. 3 years, no interest and my particular TV is about 400 off the regular price. I bought a plasma and I am going to be super cautious about IR and Burn-In. I originally planned to get a new tv around black friday, but this was too sweet to pass up. The Tv is scheduled to be delivered a week from today. Like I said; I'm really sorry if I spoiled the league for anyone. I know it is more fun playing people rather than cpus but I do not want to take a chance for the first couple of hundred hours (please, no plasma/lcd debate). Good luck to everyone.
 
Eh, I think if you do some reading you'll see burn in is largely a thing of the past. It's pretty hard to do, even early on, if you keep the brightness down to a reasonable level. I could go on more about it, but don't really feel like it to be honest.

For what it's worth I have a 42" plasma that is used extensively for video games and I have not had any problems with burn in at all.
 
Jughead, the first 100 hours thing hasnt been an issue in the past two years of plasma tech. I bought a 40" Dynex in January for $400 and played after a day and had no issues.
 
Well I have read just about the entire thread about pn50b650 thread at avsforum.com and it is still somewhat of an issue. Mainly; with sports game that have stationary ticker on the screen (ala madden, fifa, etc.). I'm more worried about IR rather than burn in. I just don't want to be alarmed over my new baby. I'll stay on the franchise until I feel I can't. Thanks for the support.

No clue what IR is, but I too have a plasma. I've played hours of madden straight and it is fine. You will notice a faint burn-in afterwards, but it goes away pretty quick (within an hour of usage). its really faint as well, you won't notice it unless you pay close attention

Again a heads-up week 7 will be ending tomorrow (unless games are played tonight) and week 8 will end Tuesday night due to the holiday to give everyone time to get their game in.

Seriously, it would not have been hard for EA to make an export feature for the online stats, I guess they wanted to have the DLC cheats instead.

lol I just realized I have Leftwich. for some reason I was thinking Garrard when I read his name. lots of picks in my game. Rookie CB Alphonso Smith got some back (3 to be exact) and scored twice.

anyone looking to trade a TE? I could part with a RB (Ronnie Brown-89, Morris-76, or McAllister-72) My TE now is 77, looking to at least hit the 80s.
