Madden 11 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE-That's all folks! Mini-tourney still coming tho!

Ugh... 2 tries with theredworm (New England), and 2 dropped games.

The first time, the game froze while tied 3-3 in the 2nd quarter. I then tried to bring up my guide, and the whole system froze. Then, in the second game, I had just scored to go up 17-7 and then kicked off when it said "the connection to your peer has been lost".

Any suggestions? This is very frustrating, especially with how well I was doing. I hate constantly replaying things, and my slim chance in the division is on the line.
 
desklaser, we're supposed to advance tomorrow by ten pm... will you be available to play our game at all tomorrow night?
 
I play in a pretty deep league, since we only have 10 people we play larger rosters:

QB/QB/RB/RB/RB-WR/WR/WR/WR-TE/TE/DST/K + 5 man bench

QB: Cutler, Vick, Bradford
RB: Gore, Charles, Thomas Jones, Moreno, Green-Ellis
WR: DeSean Jackson, Wayne, Marshall, Dez Bryant, Hester
TE: Davis
D/ST: Eagles
K: Rackers

Currently 3-1, obviously my team did not do so well last week when both Cutler and Vick went down.
 
I'm ranked 1st in my 14-player league, currently 4-0 with the highest points right now (473). We have a 1 QB, 2 WR's, 2 RB's, 1 W/R, 1 TE, 1 D/ST, 1 K, and 1 IDP league. I don't know how to do the spoiler thing but I got:
QB - Phillip Rivers/Matt Ryan
WR - Greg Jennings, Austin Collie, Mark Clayton, Mike Wallace
RB - Adrian Peterson, Cedric Benson, BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Mike Tolbert, and just picked up Fred Jackson after the Lynch trade
TE - Jermichael Finley
K - Matt Bryant
DEF - Miami and Detroit (just picked them up since Miami is on a bye)
IDP - James Anderson and Clay Matthews

I also just joined 2 other random leagues where I don't know anyone just because I have some kind of sad addiction to fantasy football, and I'm 3-0-1 and 3-1 in those 2.

I've had THREE straight weeks of not being able to complete a game. I'm basically giving the game one last shot, whoever my opponent is after the Dolphins, to let me get a game in, before I drop from the franchise and trade the game in. It's just insanity.

It's a shame, because even though I'm the sucky Bills, I've played some good games against some good opponents this year and have generally had fun. But I can't support this garbage much longer, and I cannot imagine it's my connection, when I've played XBL/PS3 on this router and connection for years without issues, and before all of that, I was a WoW addict and played flawlessly for years, all on the same router. (Buffalo WHR-HP-G54, still sold today, excellent router) My brother plays Modern Warfare 2 through this connection though a funky setup I have for him--the old Pentium 3 Dell has a wifi card, uses internet connection sharing to share the wifi through the LAN port, to the Xbox. He only complains when I have a torrent upload capping the connection or something.

tl;dr: I can't imagine it's my connection's fault, rather than EA's crappy-ass servers.
 
By the way, I'm sure there's a CAG fantasy football league, but I'd like to get one going with us Madden folks. Obviously not this year, but next. So keep that in mind everyone who is talking fantasy now. I wouldn't mind starting a pick'em group this year now. Could be fun to mix that in with this.

Sort of forgot to answer this, but I think if you can get Calvin Johnson to definitely do it. Even without Rice, you can still start 3 solid RBs each week (Turner, Matthews and then probably Hillis with Green-Ellis/Torain as fine fill-ins). Torain is my starter in a couple leagues, at least this week. Calvin or anyone in his area (Moss maybe? Especially if he has a bad game Monday, still adjusting to team and playing the Jets. As long as Favre doesn't look that bad. Jennings? But I think Rice is worth slightly more, but not a terrible move). You could always deal Mathews instead if he has a big weekend if you can wait, but I'd try to shore up your WR problem sooner rather than later.
 
i'm available to play from 7-10 tonight for our game, lexxon. (I get home at 6:50) You were gone until very late last night as far as i recall.

I had no response from matt via xbox live when he was sitting online after the game nor a response in the thread when I told him it'd be this morning or nothing.

what do we do? I've had 2 cpu sims due to stupid server dcs, I'm about in the same boat as gumbill about trading the game in, I liked the league a lot but setting up a game every week with a 60% chance the game will actually stay connected is a waste of time for me and my opponent

Colts' playoff hopes looking really dim, especially against Oakland this week. Going to need a W and a lot of help to limp into the playoffs.... but it doesn't look like it's going to happen.

Also, for the fantasy league stuff/pick'em, count me in.

Keep in mind that both myself and the Ravens have games against the CPU Bengals left, so it's bleaker than you think.
 
I will wait to hear from Lexxon about his availability for tonight to see if we can get this Dolphins/Bills game done, but if not we'll have to sim it. And it sounds like we'll be simming the other one too. Sorry guys, but not sure what else to do.
 
I believe Lexxon get's home around 4-5pm EST, so i'm not to worried, and it looks like i'm going to be able to be home a tad bit earlier today...perhaps around 6-6:30...so there should be NO reason me and Lexxon can't get a game in tonight. Seems like a really good guy and we've had great communication thus far. Yesterday he was occupied until after 1am and with work in the morning for me at 5 am, a 1am game was a no-go :d
 
Geez, you guys bugging me at work...you're just lucky I manage the internet filtering so I can plug a hole in it :p

I am hoping to get home by 5. And yes, siradam, I was gone until about 8:00 and then playing a game with my buddy until very late...way too late o_o I have work in the morning too, I just have poor judgement...

I may stay @ work a bit later than usual today but I will certainly be home by 7, probably much earlier.

I have no doubt we can make a game happen. My concern is whether we can stay CONNECTED. Jesus. Uber, if we fail at connecting a third time, do we just throw the game out once again? If my next opponent and I have connectivity issues like this I'm trading the game in and dropping from the league, unfortunately, as mentioned previously, since there seems to possibly be something on my end that always drops the damn games.

looks like if we can't get our game to connect I'll be quitting the league, the fail rate that I've been dealing with this season overshadows the fun I've had

agreed... we'll most likely finish the season on a four game winning streak, setting up a rubber match with the steelers in the wild card round... unless they falter down the stretch and allow us to take the division

I've had 2 games simmed as well, but neither of them due to connection issues. I wasn't sitting online after the game, because after the second time you dropped, I turned off my Xbox after taking these pictures which I posted earlier, but apparently people didn't see them since they were under spoiler tags:

I didn't respond about this morning because I wasn't going to be available (2 hour time difference), and I was frustrated with the disconnections and your attitude in general and how you made false accusations against me.

It definitely sounds like your connection quality/NAT is the problem and not EA's servers, if you're getting disconnected nearly half the time. I've had 1 game drop, and that was against Miami, who has had to restart several games.

Otherwise, I've never had a drop in Madden 11, and I've not had any drops in literally hundreds of games of EA Sports NHL over the past couple years, so I doubt it's EA's servers. Usually, when they go out, they're out for everyone. My NAT is open, and my connection (which is wired) is almost always solid.

If I didn't have my week 1 game simmed, I'd be within a game of the division lead, and even higher had I not had that tie with Dallas, so it irks me as well. That, and I was beating you/New England, who I'll probably lose to in a sim.

Anyway, ubernes: BigAT messaged me about getting our game in tonight or tomorrow. I am hoping we can play tomorrow, but I'm waiting on him to let me know his availability for tomorrow night since I literally just responded to his PM. I've done well against top players in this league, so maybe I'll have a chance against the Giants' backup QB. Well... probably not. It is BigAT, after all. :p

It seems pretty set that I'll be the 5 and you'll be the 6, so it depends who ends up as the 3 seed. The Texans won this week and the Steelers lost, so they're both going to be at 10-4. The Texans have a much easier final 2 games (CPU Jags, Broncos) than the Steelers (Panthers, Browns), so I'd actually think they're the favorite for the 3, in which case I'd play the Steelers and you'd play the Texans. Unless, as you point out, the Steelers falter, in which case I'd play you in the opener.

The Raiders have locked up a bye, and the Jets are one win or one Texans loss away from doing so. The Steelers are out of the running for a bye by virtue of their loss to the Jets.

The majority of us in the playoff race have a CPU game remaining, so I pretty much counted that as a free win that hasn't been added. I don't think you, Deuce, or I will lay an egg against the CPU.
 
if the Panthers beat the Steelers (go Carolina!!!), it's likely that we'll both finish 11-5... if that happens, what becomes the tire breaker since we split the season series... hopefully it's not conference record

I grabbed A Henry and just saw this post now. I needed another cb since BIGAT was so kind and injured my number one cb. Do you want me to drop him and pick up another corner? I didn't know the raiders had already claimed him.

Ties with in the division are broken first by h2h then...

  1. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.
  2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.
  3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.

omg, are you kidding me...tie game after i just gave up a game tying score with 1:52 to go...and the game says "connection lost" Right after the kickoff return.... was an epic game too.....brohm threw a pick, henne threw two picks to 1 guy....

Dolphins--I see "Your opponent has quit the game." I have the choice to count it or not. "count" it meaning...a tie I guess?

The godddamn game was starting to freeze up and glitch right beforehand, in a laggy sense.

Choosing not to count...we'll attempt this one more time, I suppose. Insanity.

Another excellent game down the tubes. Was really looking forward to seeing how it turned out...
 
strange, it showed as "connection lost" on my side....and i was gonna drive (and get stopped by your insane d, with those picks, lol)
