We can't have this newcomer come join the league and beat us all to win the Superbowl in his first season...he is making us look like a bunch of chumps! Is it too late to disqualify him for.....unsportsmanlike conduct or something?

edit: I advanced us. Make sure you check out the retirements. Favre is gone. So is TO oddly enough. Tony Richardson is gone from my team :(.
 
I am raged, favre retired! Jesus, I need to move up in the draft now. Someone throw me an offer, lmao. Do I have the option to go to Favre's house in the offseason and try and lure him back out of retirement? :p

Congrats on the win Doom, well deserved.

A heads up to all teams for the draft - once the draft starts the game will automatically cut your 7 lowest rated players in order to make room for the incoming draft class. Be sure to be aware who these players are so you can potentially pick them up afterward.
 
So with Season 1 officially in the books, I want to thank everyone that participated. This was a really smooth season in my opinion. I don't think we've gotten through a season on here this quickly with so many people sticking through the whole thing AND primed for season 2. I'm pumped for the rookie draft tomorrow and the upcoming season. The NY Jets need to get over their Divisional Round hump!

I hope everyone had fun and good luck to you guys in year 2!

Again, this draft pick is from the Rosenfels/Reynaud trade. That happened after we started the franchise and is not reflected in the rosters.

Congrats to the Raiders. I can't make the draft itself, but I've pre-ranked about 30 players. I have the first pick and if I don't get JaMarcus Austin (QB) there's something wrong with the queue on EA.com because he's at the top of my list.

As far as my acquired picks go, I think I'm gaining two more than I'm giving up so Mark may have to cut the bottom nine players from my team. Make sense?
 
Bucs looking for a Corner, previous owner screwed me. I will trade most positions including Safety Bob Sander or MLB Rudd or O-Line.

WARNING!!!!

If you are counting on Madden to select the correct player from your queue, you will be disappointed. I have been through several drafts last season and 1 this season and EA will fail to use your queue correctly. If I was you I would try to find a computer you can use and draft online if possible or give a friend a list and have them draft for you.

The Redskins traded a conditional 3rd/4th rounder to the Eagles for McNabb before the franchise began, ubernes has it listed as a 3rd rounder. Washington also traded their 3rd round pick to me the Chargers during the league as part of the Moss-Sproles trade.

For now, since the first pick is conditional and I also think league trades should take precedence, I'll pencil in the McNabb pick as a 4th. But ubernes, let me know for sure what I should do.

Edit: Nevermind, the Redskins don't have a 4th round pick either.. What should we do ubernes? I think the fairest scenario objectively would be for the pick to go to the Eagles, me to get my 2nd rounder back from the Redskins, and give him an additional 7th round pick (the only one I have left in the later rounds).
 
Okay, pending that issue being resolved, here's how I'm going to handle monitoring the picks:

I have a spreadsheet set up that has ALL the picks in the draft, with the trades highlighted. When a traded pick is coming up I will announce it in the draft chat window, not in the thread.


  • If both teams are there, they should communicate on who the trading team should pick.
  • If only the team that traded the pick is there, just select best player available and then that player will go to the other team post-draft.
  • If only the team that's getting the pick is there, just cross your fingers and hope the CPU drafts someone you want.
After the draft I will let ubernes know all the players that need to be moved.

If there are any draft day trades, please both teams post that the trade has been accepted AND the exact terms. Doing this in the thread would be preferable, but if you have to do it in the chat window, that's okay too. What's important is that both teams say there's been a trade - this is especially true if you're trading existing NFL players in addition to picks.

Bengals can't make it to the draft, he had something come up. I'd draft for him if I could, but I don't think I can do two at once.

I'm not sure what the confusion is here. Washington had two 3rd round picks, their own and the one they received in the trade from San Fran, and traded them both. One in the McNabb deal and one in the Sproles trade you mentioned. Here's what's listed:

Philadelphia from Washington (via San Francisco)
San Diego from Washington

To further clarify: They did, at one point, trade a pick they didn't have. They traded San Diego a 3rd when one was already going to Philly, but with the San Fran deal they did later in the year they were able to do both. Since the McNabb deal was non-league then I gave them the San Fran pick as opposed to the slightly higher Washington pick.

BV, can you make sure that the Giants trade BigAT clarified is not on your spreadsheet?

Also, I have FOUR third round picks and would be interested in bundling some of them to move up higher if anyone's looking for quantity over quality. I'll also trade them for players, preferably an 80+ CB.
 
Just so everyone knows I'll be chatting in the draft room as the Cardinals. I'm drafting for him on my laptop and doing my team on my TV. Not going to use that damn controller to type.
