Madden 11 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE-That's all folks! Mini-tourney still coming tho!
I'm starting him this week in fantasy thanks to Wayne's bye.
I've got Wayne on a bye too and I believe DeSean Jackson is dead, leaving my mighty receiving corps as just Brandon Marshall. I plugged in Moore, hoping to catch lightning in a bottle again.
Ok ok, now that I'm back and read through FIVE pages on MAYHEM I'll sort away the rosters asap.

I don't mind if people start dropping players they drafted and don't want for players that were cut. As far as retirements go...you can dip into the FA pool to pick up a player from the same position that retired but it needs to be a depth issue and you may have that player taken from you if that just happened to be someone who was auto dropped by the CPU during the draft.

Now I'm off to sort out this draft pick hell!
Hey Uber I lost W. Harris to retirement a cb. I picked him up from the fa pool the second time around last season. Does that mean I can pick up a cb from the fa pool or not. I wanted to make sure I am doing everything correctly and do not upset the apple cart.

That is fine.

Can I drop one of my 6 dts and sign a Qb (only have 2) if yes does it have to be john parker Wilson (who it auto dropped) or can I get any Qb in free agents?
btw, I'm calling it now, this is the year of Malcolm Floyd. Dude had himself a DAY against the Raiders, Doom can attest.
Had to live with Floyd if I wanted to take Vincent Jackson completely out of the equation. Chargers have too many weapons and the Raider's secondary is still pretty bad apparently.

You can take Parker back.
You can take Parker back.
Okay, thanks. By the way I dropped my lowest rated WR and resigned HB Anthony Aldridge (who got dropped automatically) from FA.
BV, IIRC, the Bengals owner is a friend of yours... what would be the best way to reach him?
You must have missed my reply to you yesterday. He had to go out of town for the weekend, he'll be back tomorrow.

my bad... i definately missed it. Thats cool. I'll be around all day tomorrow

Bunch of games still left:

Chiefs/Broncos, Bears/Packers, Fins/Pats, Bengals/Ravens, Cowboys/Redskins, Falcons/Saints, Lions/Panthers, Eagles/Cards, Giants/Bills

This was sort of a soft start to the season so I'll give everyone until Tuesday. I'm hoping we can advance early Tuesday evening so we can get games in that night.
Let me know when you get in Lexxon, I can play anytime before/after SNF.
I'm on the train now, be home around 7:30 or so, maybe a little earlier. It might be tight getting it in tonight--if no go, tomorrow anytime after 4:00 and before MNF is fine.

Also, uber, I volunteered for some subbing of my own the first time you asked, so I'll throw my name in again. I'm around pretty much every weekday afternoon, weekends aren't so good.
Doom - You coaching the Raiders today? :D
lol I just posted as well. Can't believe this is the same team!

Packers/Bears: We were going to play yesterday after the draft, but everyone told us to wait. Today, Eddie was at the Dolphins game and couldn't play, and I am going to be busy this evening. I asked him about tomorrow and he messaged me, "Maybe tomorrow night. I'm open all day on Tuesday though." So, I'm hoping for tomorrow. His night could be my afternoon, and I'll be available before Monday Night Football. Tuesday, I can play if we start by 7:15 P.M. Eastern. I told him all this in the PM I just sent.

Bills in the SHOCKING upset, 26-20 over the Giants in OT.

Now, I will say that I did not deserve to win this game, as my O only had 6 points all game. Giants had two huge fumbles--one in the first half, the second in the first OT drive, and Parrish had a huge kickoff return as well. But overall the Bills took care of the ball and were able to tough it out, and I'm proud that our D could hold the Giants to field goals on a couple drives to keep it close. The final drive of regulation was nuts--with :10 to go on the 35, I threw to the FB and got out of bounds to gain about 9, to make it an easier FG to tie it...had to go from the 11 due to a nice punt, as well.

Great game, AT, 9 out of 10 times you win that one, but the Bills will certainly take it and walk away with an opening day win for the rookie QB.

GG.

You played very well. Like you said though, very frustrating to lose on my end while only giving up 6 points on D. It happens though.

I preferred our first game before the disconnect, with me up a touchdown, with the ball and your starting QB injured. :)

Hehe, yeah...I apologize for not remembering about the roster update. I'm usually good about that but with the long lag between games I forgot about it. I'm sure if we're somehow both around and this goes to a season 6, you'll get some payback :p

Want to play as the cowboys, when I have to play bigat twice? haha...I can only manage one td each game.

Sounds like it was a good game.
My team has gotten worse since last season, unfortunately. I believe my starting offensive line lost a combined 20 OVR points in the offseason. My fullback lost two points as well. For a run first team, that adds up a lot. My top two defensive players each lost a couple of points for whatever reason.

I don't think any of this had to do with why the Bills beat me, I didn't get the chance to bitch about it when progression(/regression) actually occurred.

Strangely, with a garbage run game, my O line (although young with high potential) improved quite a bit outside of the Center and RT positions, which degraded a bit. Wanted to draft those two positions but the OVRs didn't match up and I was dead-set on the receiver and QB. My D-line (specifically the ends) went down a ton though, and they weren't THAT awful.

No, I think I'll let you have that honor, buddeh :) I actually had a TD in the first game but my O was garbage most of the second game.

Hey guys I would love to get involved in this online franchise. After searching around for a franchise that had an opening for the Chicago Bears I have given up. I came back here to see if I could get involved in a league with solid people who don't quit and play fair.

If the seahawks are still open I would like to grab them and join in in week 2, unless the Browns got a lot better in season 2 because of moves etc. I'm sure you guys that can see the roster can give me a recommendation.

Anyways I hope it can work out. I am committed and looking forward to playing.
Hope to hear from you

I haven't been able to get in touch with the Lions yet...I sent him a message on Xbox Live and wrote on the thread here earlier on Saturday but I haven't PM'ed him because I don't remember his name on here. I just remember it's different from his Xbox Live name but he doesn't really ever post on here so it won't help to look through the thread for his name. Anyone remember it?

It's listed in the OP, right next to his CAG name and team name. :D

I had a lot of unexpected and unwelcome regression too. Jammer (my only good corner) dropped 4 points and pretty much all my LBs regressed as well.

Matthews gained 7 points to his overall, but that was to be expected. None of my other offensive players improved at all.

It's always the last place you look.

So can I get in the league ubernes?

Pretty sure he said his xbox RROD'd a few pages back.

The Jags may be the best out of the 3, but I could be mistaken.

Cleveland has a pretty good O-line, RB Harrison is rated 85, Colt McCoy is 75, and Massaquoi and Cribbs are both 80, surprisingly good secondary, their defensive ends are meh but the rest of their D is pretty solid all-around. Their key players are young too.

Seattle has Hasselbeck at 78, and probably declining now. RB Washington at 82. But they have TJ at 87 and TE Carlson at 85. So better receiving options. Better LBs, but their secondary doesn't hurt you, all starting DBs in the 80s because your 3rd CB is 72.

Jags have the best RB in MJD. Sims Walker is 87. Garrard at 78 and has speed himself, but again, he's getting up their in age too. All starting LBs in the mid 80s. The safeties stink, but the 1 and 2 CBs are solid. Not much behind them though.

So there you have it.

Yup. I just PMed you, but see my post above too.

From that assessment it looks like the Browns might be the best option available, but I think I should go with the Jags. Anyone else care to weigh in?
