Time to discuss dinner.

Go ahead. I'm making a one-time exception here since you didn't draft the guy.

The draft spreadsheet is up to date with all the picks moved, so you guys can check it out. Time to eat.

Oh, and for those who missed it in the chat: Adrian Peterson is on the block. I didn't figure on the best HB in the draft falling to me at 30, but it happened and I want to roll with the kid!

I moved him, like I did with all the traded players. That pick was traded to the Bears for Greg Olsen.

My b I dropped him

Guys Guys guys.

Most people DROPPED 7 players(some of these they want back.....)

I think unless you claimed a FA prior to the draft...we need to hold off on pickups......until the people dropping 7 players have the chance to pick back up 1 or 2 of them who they think are hot shit....

bv...uber?
I added Riley Cooper WR dropped the center
Hold on. Some of these guys you're adding might have been pre draft cuts. Let's settle down.

Why is the depth chart overall different from team player potential overall? For example r. Hudson center is rated as an 80 but on the depth chart he's rated a 77 for the same center position. Anyone else notice this?

It's invariably true that Draft Day could just as easily be called Eager Beaver Day. Happens every time. People are excited for the new season, but my advice every season is just this: Breathe. It's a long year.

If your name and player are on the list below, you can add that guy. If your name is not on the list, you're going to need to wait until the pre-draft cuts have been re-added. If you've already added someone and their name is not on that list, drop them now.

I wrote that whole post while also stuffing a burger in my mouth and scrolling through the transaction logs. I'm in the commish zone.

MA brought this to our attention a while back. I'm still not entirely clear on which one we're supposed to trust. If the Depth Chart is the accurate one, that could make trading a nightmare.

Yeah I talked about this a couple times...I'm 99% sure depth chart is accurate unfortunately. I've looked at like 5 different players over the course of Madden 12 who have progressed according to Player Management and regressed according to Depth Chart and looked at their attributes between seasons and Depth Chart has always got it right.

Also I mentioned this before but it might have been overlooked:

Ravens pick up MLB Quan Sturdivant from FA

P.S. Earl Thomas out for 12 weeks in his first game :(

Hey MA, Doom, Deuce, staticz, others...any thoughts on the new Roddy White trade?

BLOCKBUSTER ALERT!!!

WR- Roddy White, 97ovr 31yo Apot
CB- Dunta Robinson, 84 ovr 30yo Bpot

WR- Andre Roberts, 77ovr 24yo Bpot
DT- David Carter, 70ovr 24yo Bpot

You guys can do your own research too if you are skeptical...find a player on your team that progressed according to Player Management and regressed according to Depth Chart and then compare it to their stats in Season 1 (I guess the only way to do this would be if you're in the Fantasy league...you could pull up the EASports site and check stats there). I googled it to see what other people think and it just looks like a bunch of lazy speculating...no one has actually compared individual attributes between seasons like I did! I would like to publish my findings and maybe get an award or something if possible.

And GB I'm feeling kinda lazy tonight so I'm not gonna go into too much depth on the trade, or check their individual stats...but it looks fine to me.

Jets 24, Raiders 21
NY Post Headline*: NEW LOOK JETS TAKE OFF!
*-the non-crude version

Wow, well first off, gg Prez. He ran the ball down the field on me like he was another AFC West team, scored, and then pick sixed me on my opening play. 14-0. Surprisingly I didn't panic and begin doing stupid things (although on 3rd and 2 I caught the ball 3-4 yards up the field and then hit Y on accident and hurdled backwards giving myself 4th and 2... not ideal). Sanchez showed some signs of maturity as a passer and not just a game manager, and in fact put together two TD drives (one game-winning) in the 4th quarter. Tom who? ;)

Mark Sanchez - 24 for 36, 340 yards, 3 TDs, 2 INTs

Santonio Holmes - 7 catches, 116 yards, 1 TD
Delency Kilgo (R) - 7 catches, 115 yards, 2 TDs (game winner)
Jarvaris Belton (R) - 6 catches, 69 yards

Jets D - 4 sacks (one game-ending), 1 INT

Darren McFadden - 222 yards on 28 attempts
Kevin Boss - 1 catch, 28 yards, 1 TD

Raiders D - Matt Shaughnessy was in Sanchez's face all game. He had 2 sacks, but a handful of hurries. He just bull rushed the pocket mostly from the middle. Dickerson had the team's 3rd sack. Michael Huff had both picks, pretty sure both user too. 1 FF.

The rookies stepped up and they had to. Kilgo was looked to often. Maybe too often as both picks were throws to him, the initial one on the opening drive was grossly forced. Keller was taken out of the game early, but looks to be back for Week 2. Belton stepped up nicely in his place though.

The Jets get a much needed W before their Week 2 match-up versus the Kansas City Chiefs. A W here would really kick off their season right.

I'm inclined to agree with you now that depth chart is correct. The in-game numbers used for substitutions are the same as the depth chart numbers.

Ok, so let's talk this through... CBs > WRs. It's comparable, but let's face it CBs don't move around often and when they do they get a big haul. I think with the age difference and the position difference, Porter isn't too far from White. So then we're looking at the other 3 pieces. Robinson is solid, but 30. 30 isn't the end of his NFL life, however, he's not a real-life RB. Andre Roberts isn't too far off OVR wise, and let's say the age of Roberts cancels out the difference between the value of a CB and a WR. Or closes the gap. That leaves Carter to the finishing touches and while I'm not overly impressed by a 70 OVR, B pot, that's not too shabby as a 2nd or 3rd DT that could grow. I'm good with this unless someone brings up something I'm missing. Forgive me for talking it out in thread like this, but I think it's helpful for me and maybe the rest of us too.

still think u can get more... if u were just giving up Roddy White for those 3, i'd reluctantly give it 1 thumb up. I'm not familiar with the Cards' roster so I dunno what else he could offer but it's definitely titled in his favor a lil more than i'm comfortable with

SEA - 35
CAR - 10

The Seattle Seahawks kicked off the season with a big victory over the defending NFC Champions. Although the teams goal was to pass the ball more Ray Rice carried the load with 212 yds (95 after first contact) and 4 TDs. Freeman was spot on as well going 10-14 for 112yds and not throwing a single pick.

Carolina seemed to be a bit off, Newton went 11 for 26 and threw 2 INTs. It seemed the Seattle's defensive line really improved as they were reeking havoc in the backfield, racking up 7 huge sacks in the process.

GG Deuce. My rookie CBs did exactly what I was hoping they would do, cover someone! This allowed my talented DLine to get into the backfield on several occasions. I couldn't stop Olson, however I'm fine with that when I'm able to stop everyone else. This is the same attitude I take against the Cards and Fitzgerald, seems to work pretty well.

Seattle is prepping for the Cowboys next week.

RE: Week 1 Deadline

I'm saying tentatively Saturday. I know with Thanksgiving coming up that I don't expect many games to be played between Wed-Sat but I know we're an active bunch and I have faith. Realistically, we'll probably advance Sunday night. If you plan on being out of town beyond Sunday night it would be great if you could play your game before then. If not, not a huge deal. We all planned on this being a slow week. So if we have to work with early Monday evening, so be it.

i'm hoping the Super Bowl hangover was the problem but the Panthers just got their ass handed to them by the Seahawks.... giving up 8 sacks to a defense that wasnt doing anything special. I'm 11 for 11 losing games when i suffer a sack-fumble on my first possession. Oh, and my defensive line apparently is a bunch of skirts... Ray Rice had CANYONS to run thru all game and when we did manage to get to him, he looked as if he had crisco on his uniform. Definately not the performance i expected out of a team coming off an 11-5 season in which they made it to the Super Bowl. I promise u Staticz if/when we meet again, it will be a very different game.

Deuce, my D had the same issue. Though I personally missed a lot of tackles for potential losses or short gains that allowed for those 222 rushing yards. My yards allowed per game on the ground is going to look UGLY after Week 2.
