I'd agree that Android is the way to go. The only advantage I see the iPhone having over Android phones is the sheer number of Apps available, but I've never not been able to find something that I wanted. Certainly all major apps you'd use on a daily basis are on the Android market.

I had a Droid Incredible for about 1.25 years, and I just recently got an iPhone 4. Droid= terrible battery, less apps, sloppy interface, clumsy keyboard, and just overall slower. iPhone= waaay better battery, more apps, clean interface, better keyboard, and much faster. I really don't see why anybody buys droids anymore (I did originally b/c the iPhone wasn't on verizon yet).

I have the Incredible, and the battery is just fine if you're smart about how you're using it. For example, I have a friend who has the same phone and she asked me to look at it and it turned out she was keeping the wi-fi on all the time, which is about the biggest power suck you could imagine. Does that mean the Incredible isn't as user friendly? I guess you could make that case, but that doesn't really bother me.

I looked at both the iPhone and the Incredible when I was buying phones, and I thought the iPhone just couldn't hold a candle to it. I guess it's just a matter of personal preference though.

Funny..I've got an incredible as well. I've flashed it with CM7 and all my complaints about the phone went away. The battery does suck, but I'm an extremely heavy user. My wife has an iPhone and although I like it, the screen is too small and there are some other nuances that I cant stand.

I'm fairly certain I'll go with the galaxy nexus, but everything I've read says the camera sucks which is unfortunate because i feel like the Inc has a great camera.
The battery does suck, but I'm an extremely heavy user.
My biggest knock on it is that it keeps too many processes running, which really bogs down the battery. As long as I use a process killer, my charge typically lasts the day. And really, how many smart phones on the market today don't need to be charged every night if you use them a lot (and why else have one)?

iPhone's. It's amazing. My droid lasted like 10hrs on a good day, 5 on a heavy use day. I can use my iPhone as much as I used my droid when it lasted 5, and I still don't have to charge overnight. And no I didn't have wifi on.
Holy Crap the Dolphins are in first place in the AFC East! Undisputed first place!
That can change after Week 3 real quick.

Patriots 37 - Bills 15

The Pats rebound nicely from their opening day flop against the Dolphins with a very strong showing against the Bills, both on offense and defense.

I was a bit worried after Brady was sacked twice on the first series, but I changed up my playcalling after that to deal with the aggressive blitz. The only boneheaded play I made was trying to sneak in a PA pass later in the game, which naturally resulted in a strip sack TD and (in the scariest 30 seconds of my life) Brady writhing on the ground. Fortunately it was only cramps, though Brian Hoyer did come in and throw a TD on a screen (which I'd been sitting on all game, knowing I'd want to use it against the aggressive blitz once).

Brady was 11 of 14 for 156 yards and a TD. The only flub was his fumble, but that was 100% on me, he never had a chance. Brian Hoyer was 2 of 2 for 90 yards and a TD in relief.

Fitzpatrick was 11 of 23 for 130 yards, 1 TD (in garbage time) and 4 picks (3 of them by Asante Samuel, which was more than he had all last season for me).

Cobie Ross played well in his first game replacing AP, carrying 19 times for 89 yards and a score, and showing some good escapability. He also caught the screen which he took 66 yards for a TD, making several guys miss in the process. Law Firm carried 4 times for 13 yards, including a goal line score (though Ross got one later).

Jackson carried 13 times for 54 yards, and wasn't much of a factor.

Gronk was the leading receiver for the Pats (what else is new?), catching 5 balls for 81 yards. New Patriot Roddy White caught 3 balls for 41 yards and a TD on a nice diving catch on a goal line slant. He was only targeted 3 times though, so he caught every ball I threw his way.

David Nelson was the leading receiver for the Bills with 60 yards, though Stevie Johnson caught the TD.

gg Zero! These rain games always fuck with your gameplan, I guess I've gotten used to them after having so many last season. I definitely think you're going to be more competitive in this division than the score showed.

And man, am I happy I got returns on the AP trade right away. I'll admit I was nervous heading into the game with Ross, but he performed very well considering I'm still figuring out what he can do. And White is going to be a beast once I work him into the offense more (he's still learning the playbook). Super pleased not to head into the Week 3 bye 0-2, that would have been a long one.

Week 3 Bye=Weaksauce. I need that fantasy league to advance stat.
If anyone wants scrimmage I'll be on X-Box for awhile, hit me up.

Weak sauce indeed, I'm right there with you. Though I did have a couple guys go down who would be missing next week otherwise, but I still hate the early bye.

I might be around to scrim later, but my girlfriend is working late, so you know I've got to get some shame Domino's without the risk of being called out as a pig. That new stuffed cheesy bread is calling my name. ;)

Before you ask uber..i cannot play tonight at 11:30. I'm sick, and it sucks. I'll probably be in bed by 9pm. I'm not letting the jets get an easy win because "i just dont give a damn about life/madden" right now;)
Can someone please breakdown how many players start at each position in the GB defense?
DE- 2
DT- 1
OLB-
MLB-
CB-
FS-
SS-
Base defense? If so OLB-2, MLB-2, CB-2, FS-1, SS-1

Maybe this has been said before, but I have a league rule question. Are we allowed to use the surprise onside kick? Its set so you can only do it once a game. I was wondering because it might be useful in a big game down the road.

Feel better, buddy!

Yeah, it's allowed. I'd encourage people not to use it all the time though, like you said save it for a big moment.

Not gonna be able to start my game until 11 p.m. EST. Got home really late from work and need to spend some time with the wife. If this is a problem, please feel free to have Zurezo play against the CPU or use a sub.

Sorry about this. The holidays are always crazy in the newspaper business.
Not gonna be able to start my game until 11 p.m. EST.
We'll wait, as long as you guys can kick off right at 11 (and Zurezo's fine with that). Half an hour isn't going to make a huge difference.

Trying to turn this ship around and not have a horrible season like last year and now I have doom to deal with! AHHH!
Trying to turn this ship around
tell me about it... i'm one game away from hittin the panic button... NFC is too competitive to be losing any more than 4 games and i'm already halfway there :wall:

Well, Lyric (Rams) quit the game on me in the 2nd Q up 14-0. He sent me a message on XBL because I went for it on 4th &3 up 14-0 in the 2nd with 2:20 left. I didn't want to kick a 54 yard FG because I have been miserable at them lately and punting into the endzone only nets me 17 yards, so I went for it and got it.

Im upset because I waited around all night and then he quit, thats what pisses me off.

I got on to boot lyric but it looks like he already dropped so I'm assuming he's quitting the league. Go ahead and play the CPU and then advance us.

Goes without saying, but going for it there is fine. I've seen you try to kick a 54 yarder, it wasn't pretty.

Edit: That's my personal opinion, not a league edict. I'm deferring to uber on this one (see below).

It actually was 4th and 5, though I'm not sure that matters at all.

My feeling was this: The way I understood it was that we were supposed to play like an NFL coach would play. Although the score was 14-0, it actually was much worse than that. I hadn't been able to do anything all game — as in, I don't think I had a single first down. I hadn't even gotten past the 50 (or anywhere near it), and there was absolutely no reason to believe that would change. I couldn't run; I couldn't pass. I couldn't stop your run; I couldn't stop your pass. The only way I got you to a fourth down was a fluke sack.

You were beating me handily, and you know that.

As far as you waiting for me all night: You completely stood me up at the end of the first season. I PMed, I posted here, I messaged you on XBL and even emailed you directly. Nothing.

Really not a big deal, but let's not pretend you never wasted my time.

I was on the fence about staying in this to begin with, but this situation put me over the edge. It's no fun to get blown out, and I'm sure it's no fun to play me, either. I clearly don't belong here, anyway, and I'd like to see the Rams go to someone who can hang.

I've already PMed BV about this, but I'm going to post about it too before I finally get to sleep here. Please let's not use kick lag as an excuse to not go for FGs over 50 yards. If it's not lagging on kickoffs then you're fine. I also hope that those that decide to go for it can examine the situation at hand. A few pages back when I went for it, I was up against Doom and already down 14-0. A FG in a game like that does me nothing. Zurezo, if the game was really that one-sided as Lyric says then you should either kick the FG or punt the ball. Pinning a player back on the 10 yard line (or less) is advantageous as well. I really don't want to get in a situation where everyone is going for it on 4th down on long FGs and I have to sit here and police it every night.

With that all said, sorry to see you go Lyric. I don't think anyone was blaming you for being a little hard to schedule a game coming out of the holiday week. It happens. Obviously quitting is Rule 1 here and even if I want to personally call the FG questionable that doesn't excuse that. Good luck in any of the other leagues here.

And for the record, there's a huge difference between 4th and 1 and 4th and 3, and even more so on 4th and 5. If the difference was between a 70-80% chance 1 yard conversion and a say 50-60% chance 50+ yard FG, I'd say sure, you know what the game was out of reach but that just makes plain sense. 3 yards? It gets tougher for me to swallow and 5 yards even more so.

I do realize quitting is the No. 1 rule, and there is shame in what I did. But I did feel that play was in blatant disregard of the spirit of this league, and there's a million other things I could be doing late at night (sleep, Skyrim, setting up my new BF PS3 Slim YAY) than letting someone get his jollies taking advantage of a clearly inferior opponent.

Yes, the game was that one-sided. And if he was going for it on 4th and 5 in the second half, I only could assume that behavior would have continued for another two quarters, or a half-hour of my life.

I had a blast for the time I was in this league, and I do wish you all the best. Someday, maybe I'll be able to play at your level!

I don't necessarily agree with uber's interpretation, but I'll defer to him on this. I think the issue is that Zurezo doesn't trust his kicker to hit from that distance period, not using lag as an excuse.

That said, I think Lyric also makes a good point: Zurezo, you know you're a lot better than Lyric is. He admits as much. A missed FG or a punt there and you're still probably going to win the game going away, which does make it seem like a bit much. I'd actually have much less of an issue if you did that against some of the better players in this league, where every single possession is huge and you can't afford to leave points on the field.

I'm not saying you should change the way you play because of who your opponent is, but there are definitely situations where it's not a bad idea to dial back the aggressiveness a bit.

It was not 4th and 5, but thats not the point, the ball was on his 37yd line. I have played a lot of Madden to know that 2 scores is not a big lead, no matter what.

I scored on the first play of the game and then again on a pick 6, but he was playing better defense and foreced me to punt. He was getting the ball at half-time and I didnt want to miss a FG and give him the ball at the 50. I really dont think going for it there was "unsportsman" like and I would not have kept doing that all game, I have always played fair and by the league rules.

Lyric, I have nothing against you personally but I just didn't like how you sent me one message and then quit before I could get back to you or voice chat.

I will agree with everything that you and Uber said, this will make me think about doing it vs. some people in the future. It was not meant to rub it in or anything like that.
My feeling was this: The way I understood it was that we were supposed to play like an NFL coach would play.
Just a comment on this: Given the down, distance, and time on the clock, I am pretty sure there are NFL coaches who would go for it there if they didn't trust their kicker to hit from 50+.

That doesn't conflict with what I said before though. People should only be really aggressive like that if they feel like they have to.

Panthers finally showed up after two weeks of absolute ineptitude... the D held the Skins offense to 88 yards of total offense (4 yards passing), and picked Garrard off 4 times. I guess the rookie FS Beasley coming back from injury really inspired the team. Mike Goodson ran the ball 15 times for 76 yards and Benson got a 1 yd TD run after AJ Green (6 catches for 104, 2 TDs) caught a perfectly placed pass at the 1 yd line. Greg Olsen added 5 catches for 82 yards. Cam Newton had his first mistake free game (would've been PERFECT had David Gettis not dropped a TD pass) going 12/13 for 198 yards and 2 TDs. He also ran three times for 27 yards. GG Man, sorry u had to be the one to catch the beating from our resurgence...

Not sure if anyone cares, but personally I have no problem with people going for it on the 37 or so and I plan to do it when I don't think a kick will work. The Chargers owner and I were talking about this during our Week 2 game. He kicked a field goal and missed, but I told him I had no problem with him going for it.

I have a bigger problem with runs being 90% of playcalls, but again I just try to adapt.

If the pass game isn't working because of a lockdown secondary....there should be no reason NOT to go 100% run if it works.

How is this wrong?

Definitely isn't. I'm typically great against the pass and horrible against the run, so I fully expect people to come out and run on me every play. In fact I'm surprised more people don't. :D

BSETI50,

Were you the Titans owner when I played them last season? If so what a drop in performance I had this season, damn.

I'm finding that I can't do anything with McCoy and if anyone is interested I'd gladly take a better QB and a worse something else for McCoy and Hillis.
